I actually agree with you, as I would have preferred "The Bitch" or Edwards.
I think liberal voters were SO enamored with the chance to show the world how "enlightened" they are, they actually chose the wrong candidate.

Now THAT is one of the truest things you ever said on this board. I've actually sat at a table during the primary where what you just said was seriously spoken almost word for word.
The guy actually was wondering if people were enlightened enough to vote for Obama--as if the thought that someone not voting for him is somehow unenlightened. These people seriously believe this. It's like the thought that the guy is seriously inexperienced and unqualified, and that people may NOT want to hand the button over to a guy who has just a few years in the senate under his belt, cannot be reached.
The elitism of the liberal mind is ridiculous.

And for the record, I think the bitch might have actually been less damaging to the country. She has no scruples, and would be so worried about approval rating that she might have been more stoppable. Yet the thought of seeing that face and that voice in the White House still makes Obama preferable. It's even worth the extra tax hike not to see that woman happy.
It's the only silver lining of this annointment.

Let's focus on keeping the Senate under the 60 magic number so Obama can't go to crazy and then regroup for another 2 term Republican in 2012.....

We're safe on that one, I think.
You see that in Philly one polling place had two Black Panthers standing outside, one with a club, threatening McCain backers?
There are all kinds of shenanigans going on, but we knew that would happen. For all you libs who laugh it off, one of my coworkers - an Obama backer, although she cant explain why, just said, "so what if they steal the election, you guys stole one before this one."
Uh, yeah. Ok.

Don't worry Conservatives....when Obama wins, two years down the road and things are shaping up around here, you guys can always make up some connection to some half-assed second coming of Newt Gingrich and another "Contract."

Ugh...did you hear this women gushing over Obama? I think its now made it to YouTube. As she left the polls she swooned...."Now I wont have to pay my gas....now I wont have to pay my mortgage.....Obama is going to take care of it......I helped him, now he helps me."
Yay!

According to California exit polls so far
In 2004, 4.5% of voters were "undecided" on election day.
Today the figure was 9%.
Of that 9%, the majority were Bush voters in 2004.

As I said on that vestige known as Facebook.....be careful for what you wish for, you just may get it.
All kinds of trouble may ensue.
I'll have much more to say on this as time goes on, but I will say this. I do think Obama will hang more centrist than most imagine, so there's that. A lot of signs are pointing that way. We'll know more once the cabinet starts to take shape.
But man, this is doom. Sucks to be me right now.

I don't see why he would be more centrist. He's not centrist. We can only PRAY he hangs centrist.
As bad as this is, I'm not as shocked and upset as I was with Clinton.

Well, given the choice between Obama or Clinton, I think you and I agree this is the lesser of two evils. But its still quite the dreary scenario.
From a lot of what I am hearing - from both sides of the ledger, Obama is going to want to please as many people as he can. He's almost like a political kiss-butt. Thats sorta why he is where he is now. Well, that and getting 95% of the black vote, and 100% of the fraud vote.
I think he will play to both sides of the aisle. As FOX said, this country is not necessarily moving to the left, we are moving left-center. Key word is center. I can live with center, albeit grudgingly. I cant live with left.

Hey, this never would have happened if only the Republicans had not deep-sixed the ticket.
I voted around 2pm, and there were no lines in my village. The workers were tripping over each other trying to help me and I had my pick of empty booths to vote in... I'm betting this was a record low in turnout for registered Republicans, at least in NY/NJ/PA/New England/MD/VA/NC... the less bible-thumping and more educated regions of the country.
My coworker went to the polls in Wheatley Heights at 6am, and he was in line for 3 hours before getting to vote. I heard such stories about Wyandanch, Uniondale, Hempstead and Roosevelt, as well... the minority-laden areas of Long Island were NOT prepared for an exponentially higher turnout than usual.

Hey, ass, going by everything from exit polls to rallies to campaign cash that came in from the time she was named VP candidate, Palin was a win for the Republicans. She helped the ticket. Without her it may have been even worse. The stock crash, mixed with 95% of the black vote being reserved for someone else, and voting fraud, deep sixed the ticket.
Im really getting weary of you speaking for the party. You are the shittiest excuse for a "Republican" I have met in my life. Who the fuck did you vote for? Did you vote for McCain?

T, you clearly do not spend a lot of time with people who are actually active in the Party. You are an extreme conservative and you saturate yourself with the uber neocon media and discussions. I am simply a little bit more moderate, supporting traditional conservative values and favoring personal freedoms over socially conservative neocon intrusionism. My mom and I are dues-paying members of several Republican organizations and some of them PUBLICLY DID NOT ENDORSE THIS TICKET. It is unheard of for Republicans to publicly NOT back the party candidates, especially a presidential ticket.

Hey, Laura, take your idea of "Conservative values" and stick them up your butt.
I dont care who you pay dues too. What do you want, a cookie?
Stop calling yourself a Republican. Please stop.

Well, at least on top of saving us from the dreaded "60 seats", at least gay marriage seemingly got shredded in all 3 polls that put it on the ballot. All 3 states that had a vote to add BANNING GAY MARRIAGE to the state constitutions saw it pass or has it on the road to pass, including lib haven California.
To Hell with gay marriage.

There you go. Means to an end. Why have an honest election when you can cheat?
Not that he wouldn't have won honestly, but the voter fraud, ACORN, and other forms of intimidation yesterday shows what thugs the democrats really are.
But yeah, I'm praying that Obama governs more to the center than his viewpoints. This is not as bad as Clinton.
I hope he doesn't cut the deficit by raping our defense budget like Clinton, which will fuck over the country when we actually need our military.
I hope he can talk to his terrorist friends into turning over bin Laden.
I hope he governs like he talked, practically Republican and really does cut taxes. Yet I wonder if he considers not repealing the Bush tax cuts a tax cut in itself.
I hope Heckle House continues to be the website most talked about on 39.com and that people sweat us there forever.

I voted at 7 a.m. because I saw the lines in TV and was expecting a nightmare at the polling place. I was the only one on line for my district but there was a long line for one of the other districts...I assume for the north side of Copiague.
