is this in Major League Stadiums only? I personally would rather get boinked by the mascot than buy mlb stadium food.
The minors though, that's different! go get me a frozen lemonade!

I have no further details. I printed out these poll results over a decade ago. It just says "baseball fans." Going by mascots getting so many votes in the "baseball jobs" category, I would figure minor league Stadiums are getting some play. Interesting that "beer" got no love as a food.

they should make the poll about food at specific stadiums....
for yankee stadium, i would choose:
twins gyros (RIP) chuchifritos the "lettuce sandwich with one slice of turkey" from the bodega

I never eat Stadium food. Ruins my buzz.
Looking back, I should have eaten a lot more Stadium food.

I don't think most people go to enough games to know specific food places. Not beyond 'that one soft pretzel place'
My favorite ballpark restaurant is located at Turner Field in Atlanta. Skp Caray + Pete Van Wieren's Hall of Fame BBQ. They also win the award for 'lindsey's favorite broadcasting team'.

Interesting that "beer" got no love as a food. Beer makes stadium food palatable.

I will say this. Many years ago on Letterman (NBC days) The Dodger Dog won a best stadium hot dog contest.
The Dodger Dog, in fact, is one of the most putrid tasting dogs you'll ever get your hands on. The only thing remarkable about them is that they're long...but it's a good 10-12 inches of foul rubbery crap (that's what she said).
I only buy peanuts IN the stadium. Of the various stadiums I visit somewhat regularly, I have a tradition of pre-game meals at various haunts:
Yankee Stadium - Mickey Mantles Restaurant (which basically equates to overpriced TGIF quality food), or Carnegie Deli ... as I'm usually coming in from mid or up town.
Angels Stadium - Nationals Sports Grill
Oakland Coliseum or AT&T Park- Chowders at Pier 39
Dodger Stadium - Phillippes
Petco Park - any number of places in the Gaslamp District
About the only stadium I've been to worth dining IN the stadium is Chase Field (Diamondbacks) - shitty city, shitty team and fans, PHENOMENAL stadium.

I haven't been to many stadiums aside from the 2 in NYC, but anytime i'm in Philly and the one time i was in the Phillies ballpark Tony Luke's is the way to go.cheesesteaks and roast pork itialians. oh after working 7 years at shea and 5 at yankee stadium, i can say i am immune to stadium food, most all of it is terrible, and i ve eaten most of it.

The food at Camden Yards is definitely a step above most stadiums. I found a tasty pulled-pork sandwich there a few years ago. Those bacon sandwiches at the Rogers Centre kick ass, and I have been known to circle Fenway to find the concession with the Legal Seafoods clam chowder. Although I rarely partake in stadium food in the BX, I tend to eat on the road, especially if I find something unusual.

I'm sure it will be different in the new ballpark, but the food at Yankee Stadium was beyond putrid. The only worse food is at the Meadowlands.

Cap 19% Pennant 16% T-Shirt 14% Mug 13% Helmet 12% Bat 9% Seat Cushion 6% Ball 5% Foam Hand 4% Poster 2%
Where do we start with this one? At least cap won, but PENNANT over even a shirt? Who says foam hand? LOL @ mug. Do people really buy those seat cushion things? And who hangs posters?

I get the idea from reading that it only includes things you are forking dough over. Unless thats part of the "ball" pick.

Cap, definitely cap.
I still have the old Yankees cap I had when I was a kid, bought at Yankee Stadium....the old cap, where the "NY" wasn't puffy and protruding out of the cap, and the underside of the bill was still green.

I remember, going all the time, we used to get a handful of different promotional caps a year. They were annoying, one I remember in particular had the venerable NY on the front, and a Waldbaums (supermarket) logo on the back. The Waldbaums logo was LARGER than the Yankee logo on front.
It got to where Gang Bang Steve would spend a good chunk of the game slicing the logos off the hat with a razorblade.
I remember those hats would get wet with rain, and shrivel down like a sock.

I was talking about a purchased cap, Tom.
Cap day giveaways are always crappy caps....about as crappy as the towels on that giveaway day.

i think i probably have about 9,187,792 promo yankee caps, each one worse than the previous
my favorite one though is the beret they gave out after 9/11. i actually use that one to house my pin collection.
back to the food thing for a bit.....
Boog's BBQ in baltimore is amazing. one of my favorite parts of visiting that city (sad, i know)
SafeCo in seattle has some AMAZING chowder-in-a-breadbowl place, and i hate seafood
The warehouse where they play baseball in Tampa Bay has a dope Outback Steakhouse that you order and take back to your seat. primo
Miller Park in Milwaukee, aside from slamming bratwurst, has the BEST ice cream of anywhere. period. (it's actually called "frozen custard")
In Aneheim, there is a great burrito place out in right field. as fas as stadium food goes, its pretty good
a lot of you have heard me say this before, but in the bronx, it has always been a case of "purposeful neglect". before the new stadium was ok'd and being built, i always felt like the concessions were shitty on purpose, so that when the new place was built the concessions would automatically be better

Vinny, that makes sense, but the food has been bad since it opened. I remember going to a game at the tender young age of eight in 1976 and thinking the hotdog sort of sucked.

Burrito place in Anaheim? Would that be Rubios? I'm not sure if it is, but Rubios are all around OC and I know that Petco has one in it, so does the Honda Center (Ducks). If so, Rubios is the shit...it's a big SoCAL chain famous for introducing the fish taco from Baja California. I love the place.

Mmmm ... fish taco! Why can't anyone here on the East Coast figure out how to make a good one?

John, I'm with you. I REALLY enjoy visiting Baltimore because that ballpark is beautiful. I, too, have not been to Wrigley, yet, but I have heard good things and cannot wait to go... I may get some guff on this, but I'd also place Fenway above Yankee Stadium... Fenway is OLD SCHOOL. Maybe it is the atmosphere that kicks it up a notch because I am only there when the Yankees are in town, but I absolutely love visiting Boston.
