I wonder how many times the word "situation" has been used on that show. Fate smiled on me. The second I finished the third and final episode on Demand, MTV was showing the 4th episode. I think this is going to be the one where Snooki gets punched.

The people suck at life, but it is a funny way to pass by an hour. Of course I'll watch it on DVR, like I am Real World DC. You gotta take the cringe moments with the funny ones.
Btw, shame on MTV for not showing the punch they showed in clips for 4 months. Stupid special interest groups. Sometimes dumb bitches get punched in the mouth. The guy deserved to get arrested he is a piece of shit, but would she have gotten hit if she wasn't sticking her fucking finger in the guys face? The best part was the hat, that shit just went flying off her head. I think it landed in Pennsylvania somewhere.

I agree with that. I don't get why they didn't show the punch. It had been seen many times over in various places. There was no reason NOT to show the punch.
The little commentary about violence against women was no big deal, but not showing the punch was just dumb.
And they also SHOWED girl on girl fighting--I think later in the same episode.
The guy is a scumbag, and he really screwed himself over. I wonder how much time he'll spend in jail. Ultimately, at some point, he's going to get a beating. This was all over TV. Someone will find him. I bet even in jail, punching a chick that hard might piss off fellow inmates.

Yeah, and some people are like guy on guy and girl on girl is different. If you're showing something as a documentary, and that happens, no matter what why wouldn't you show what happened? I agree, the message at the end, no big deal, other than the fact it wasn't domestic, it was a drunken altercation, but still, fine show the message hitting girls is wrong. But not showing it pretty much says we want to show you real life incidents, but only when everyone isn't offended. This country is full of fucking children, and by that I mean fat house wives who do nothing but watch TV all day, and complain when they see something they don't like.
Everyone is sensitive sadly. But when was the law passed that everyone has freedom of speech and expression just not when it hurts peoples feelings? It's really pathetic. Worse part is it's only getting worse. I forget what comic said it, but he said between having to now say the N word and the F word for faggot, what's next the c word for cunt the t word for tits, the d word for dick? No one is going to know what the fuck were saying. And with TV it's going to be watered down boring malarky that everyone has seen. That's why HBO, Showtime, etc, they have the best TV cause there is no restrictions. Cable is going to be gone within 20 years.

I think that by NOT showing it, they blew a chance to show how horrible a man punching a woman really is. This guy was a complete asshole. While she may not have been wise to get in a drunk guy's face, she didn't deserve that punch.
I actually think if they SHOWED it, the reactions would have been that much more effective. What better way to show that a man hitting a woman is horrible than to actually show a big dude hitting a girl that is like 5 feet tall at most?
I agree people are way too sensitive. Political correctness is the worst thing ever.

The wife and I heard SO much about this show....that it was a train wreck you couldn't turn away from.
We watched episode 1, looked at each other about 20 minutes in and decided it wasn't captivating.
Seriously, I get the train wreck factor and why it would be appealing, but I honestly find this show dull. I gave it an honest chance, but find myself losing interest a few minutes in.
Thumbs down.

I thought he taught in the Bronx. Whatever, he has been suspended. This show is hilarious. Lindsay and I love it. The Situation makes me laugh. I like Paulie D. And the fact that she spells it JWWow with the extra W is too much. BTW, who gave them their nicknames or was it self designated?

I agree with Chris--it is a very funny show--unintentionally. These people are just funny to watch.
I wish I had a penny for every time the word "Situation" is mentioned. I'd be able to pay for my season tickets by now.
I bet someone could come up with a good Jersey Shore drinking game.

Chris, with all due respect, if you think giving the first episode of a reality show 20 minutes is giving a fair chance, you didn't really give it a fair chance. It's a known fact on all reality shows the first episode is the worse cause all it is is introducing the people on the show. If you gave it the whole hour I bet you'd feel different. Even if you hate them, you want to watch to hate them and make fun of them. By episode 2 and 3, it was by far one of the best reality shows ever, fuck Survivor one. Only thing better than this show was the Osbourns. Even with the Real World that just debuted last wednesday, the first episode was not great by any means just an hour of seeing people move into a house. But you get to know them by the end of the hour so when they show what's coming up on the season, it makes you want to watch. And when all the previews for weeks saw her getting rocked. If that didn't make you want to watch, you have no sense of humor. Again no disrespect but 20 minutes into episode one is hardly giving it a chance.

I'll tell you one thing I don't get. This infatuation with bedazzled Ed Hardy, Affliction, TapOut gear.
These t-shirts are fucking AWFUL! Who wears this shit?
You cash in your manhood card once you purchase a bedazzled t-shirt!
Ed Hardy cracks me up the most....99.9% of these fucks sporting Ed Hardy gear have no clue who the real Ed Hardy was or what he was all about. I'm guessing the real Ed Hardy would shun the trendiness and giggles and chuckles his once good name now evokes.

"Even if you hate them, you want to watch to hate them and make fun of them. "
That about sums it up. I doubt anyone LIKES these people. But we all like to make fun of them.

Yeah, gym teacher in the Bronx, from my home base of Deer Park. Suspended, and will most likely lose his job.
We wont watch the show, let me reiterate that.

The show is a laugh a minute, just to reiterate.
And the fact the guy was a teacher is scary, he looked like he killed before, he looked like he was a psycho. And he was around kids. After seeing that I wouldn't want him as a teacher.

Last night Snookie was on Jay Leno, via satellite.
She told Jay her favorite junk food is pickles. Jay laughed at her, made fun of her, telling her cucumbers are good for you, therefore NOT junk food.
I might have to side with Snookie on this one. While cucumbers may be ok for you, pickles are nutritionally empty, contain lots of sodium and tons of preservatives. If I had to classify pickles as either "health food" or "junk food", I'd choose junk.
Fuck you Jay, smug asshole.

In some ways, last night's episode was better than the one where Snooki got punched.
Of course, it also involved Snooki getting slapped. I wonder how often she would get smacked around in her private life.
I know nothing about the Jersey Shore. Would people be meeting up that often with the same people? They made it seem like they randomly ran into the same crop of girls again.
I also am cynical of just how real these things are. Would they legally be allowed to show some of the stuff they show, without the people that are not cast members signing a release? That would mean either the grenade and grenade launcher either SIGNED the release and got paid, or they did not get paid and are very stupid. Either that, or most of these confrontations are staged.
Plus, who would pick a fight with a guy like Ronnie? How dumb to you have to be?
Public fighting, last I checked was a crime. Wouldn't there be legal consequences for Ronnie and the guy he fought with? If it's not staged, then that guy signed a release too, but his girlfriend didn't, because they blocked out her face.

Balls, you are HOOKED! I didn't watch last night because I was watching the BCS Championship (which didn't get good until Texas' No. 2 QB settled down in the second half), but I will catch one of the 2,843 reruns.

I was at the Knicks game. By the time I got home, the score was something like 23-6 Alabama, so I figured I'd just catch Jersey Shore. Great show.
