Now THIS is very funny. Any idea when in the game that was?
What I like about that especially is I can see that my footwork is terrible in that picture. I can see why I hit a weak foul to first. Fortunately, it wasn't caught.
Something to remember next time I'm up.

Let's see. I would have to guess second. Marc fucked me up in that at bat with a terrible called strike. Pitch was flat, low, and inside. I was quickly in an 0-2 hole, and likely due to that horrible swing. I ended up grounding into a fielder's choice in the second at bat.

I tell you exactly what he said to me after the game. "Well, I miss a few here and there." He was the best umpire on the day by far.

What I like about that especially is I can see that my footwork is terrible in that pictureNot only that but your right elbow is firmly planted in your gut....think about the mechanics of that. You're not going to get much more than a slow roller out of that. I didn't have such a hot day at the plate either...and the reason I spot your flaw is b/c when my arms get tired, I do the same thing.

I said that?
Well I take it back. I'm Flawless, perfect, infallible, unerring, and definately not balding or overweight.

It's a terrible swing. The only thing good about it is the headwork.
I think it's actually good to see pictures of your lousy swings. Gives you something to think about.
And it was a ball. Changed the whole at bat.

I think the best part of those pics is SID DA KID in the background. Bullet belt and MoHawk.
PRICELESS

I definitely need to be more conscious of my footwork. I think the elbow thing is related. My foot should end up more toward the pitcher, not in the opposite direction of where I'm swinging.

I can't say about that. Everyone had a horrible year in 2006. I doubt that was the issue in 2006. With the exception of that day, I had the best offensive year in my life in 06.
But that footwork is garbage.

Marc, if look closely, I think it looks like your back foot is bailing out toward the direction of the ball. I think it just looks like it's your front foot bailing, but its actually planted.

What, do you got a foot fetish or something? You seem to be way too into where his feet are.

If that's the case, it's even worse. It should be the exact opposite. I don't know if that's possible though. You know how batter's boxes have ditches? I try to brace my backfoot at the edge of that ditch so it doesn't move. I'm going to really try to be conscious of this on Sunday.

The day I have a fetish for Balls' feet is the day I pack it in and take a nosedive off of the Empire State Bldg. Christ, my lunch is coming up thinking about it.
Instead, I was just looking at the photos after it was brought up. It really looks like he's falling toward the ball on the back swing - Like he planted the front, fought an inside pitch and fell toward 1st base.

None of this would have happened if you had just called that first pitch ball one!

No. I was looking for a STRIKE!
Flat, low, and inside--not a strike.

That would only make him like one of a dozen who use that tact.

I think I only have one walk in the history of this tourney. That was when Tom was on the mound and missed the plate by about 30 feet literally.

He had good form, hips turning until he pulled his left foot out of the box, and lost weight shift.
