A co-worker asked if I'd be interested in going to this.
I responded with " Does the Pope shit in the woods?"

Gooner should be a pitcher in the tourney. He tosses an excellent softball.

Would he be the first nazi to speak in the stadium? I don't think any Nazi's spoke at Yankee Stadium before, however they did have a presence at Madison Square Garden, funny you don't see clips of this on any of those shows on MSG network now: Arguably, the zenith of the Bund's history occurred on President's Day, February 19, 1939 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Some 20,000 people attended and heard Kuhn criticize President Franklin Delano Roosevelt by repeatedly referring to the president as “Frank D. Rosenfeld”, calling his New Deal the "Jew Deal", and espousing his belief in the existence of a Bolshevik-Jewish conspiracy in America. Most shocking to American sensibilities (and arguably creating more animosity toward the Bund), were outbreaks of violence at the gathering, between protesters and Bund storm troopers.

My dad is a volunteer at our church and heard that catholic churches throughout the area have been contacted about getting a head count for the people that want to go to this. Apparently you need to sign up at your church within the next week or so of your interested.

So I was able to get tickets for my wife and I. We had no trouble getting to Bronx (Mosholu Parkway) from MA. No problem getting on the 4 train. Once we got off at 9:45 AM it took over 2 hours go get into the stadium. Security was very tight as expected, however, it was poorly run. The return trip was just as easy, as we were in CT BEFORE the scheduled time that they were going to allow people to leave the stadium.

We were running around all day, but I did tape the mass off the Fox News feed, and will watch it at some point, and keep for posterity.

i'm glad i passed....it seemed to be a madhouse up there, and from what i saw on various news programs, there were a LOT of vendors up there

We'll chitter chatter. I didnt DVR it, I put it right to a tape. I need to find someone who can record tape to tape, or tape to DVD. Can you? I can send you my copy and you can flip it back when finished. If not, I will poke around, easily enough

Vinny's spot was open. There was a lot of cheap garbage stuff available. My personal fav was the guy selling "I Love The Pope" hats.
There were people chanting "Benedict...Benedict...Benedict" in the roll-call style.
Tom, as for the tape, I still have 2 VCR's, so I can copy a tape. If you can get it done to DVD that would be nice as well.

I talked to our friend Walkman John, he can hook up the DVD. I will probably meet with him sometime next week, and soon after I will have a DVD to send.
Adrenalin O.D. has a good song about the commericalism of religion, called Pope on a Rope. No, its not about hanging the pope, its about Pope on a Rope soap, that you sling around your neck in the shower.

its about Pope on a Rope soap, that you sling around your neck in the shower. LOL at the note on the side of the box "wash away your sins." Some of us will need to buy a few cases.
