From what it seems though, Edwards has no shot at the nomination. He may not even still be running by the time the primary gets to you. I could be wrong though. This is a nice image:

I think things on the Democrat's side will shake out. I really don't see anything at all objectionable about Edwards (if your a Democrat) in terms of issues. I don't see any issue-specific deficiencies in Edwards that would leave some glaring void filled by Obama or Hilary. And the fact of the matter is, in 2008 a black man or a woman are highly unelectable.

I wonder about that. Did you see the video behind that picture? Tom e-mailed me about it. Here we have Hillary Clinton possibly breaking down--over the tough campaign. If she is starting to cry NOW, what would happen if she has to deal with real issues as the president?
That's one reaction. The other one is that idiots will see her as human, instead of the wicked witch that she is, and feel sorry for her. She makes me so sick.
I don't care who wins the democrat nomination as long as it isn't the bitch.
If Hillary doesn't get the nomination, there is serious potential for the election to be completely about ideologies and issues, rather than people. Obama/Edwards are not part of the Clinton Administration. So that is not relevant. None of the GOP candidates are from the Bush Administration. Let them fight it out on the issues and see who wins.

Ah, the ole a woman can't be president because women are too emotional argument rearing its' ugly head already.
That said looks like it's Obama's nomination to lose.
And I don't think McCain it too old to be President, but I do question his temperment. All those votes against Bush in '01-02 seemed to be simply out of spite instead of the issues. Jw

No, it has nothing to do with her being a woman. It has to do with her crying like a baby at the first sign of adversity. If this were a man crying like that, his campaign would be over now. If there is any double standard, it's her gender allows for this kind of behavior, but on the world stage, this isn't presidential.

I just think the democrats are screwing this up (I am republican but put that aside for this moment)
Bush is unpopular...the dems needed to find a Christian midage white guy and they may well have walked to a victory.
With all due respect to the folks in here with open minds, I seriously doubt that behind closed curtains, a large majority of the folks in this country will pull a lever to elect a woman or black for president. For that matter, on the republican side, a mormon or a Catholic.

I wouldn't underestimate whether this country is ready for a woman or a black president. I just don't think these two people are the right ones. But I wouldn't be surprised if one of them gets the nomination. I just don't want it to be the bitch.
Tomorrow will be very interesting.

Yeah, it will be...Hall of Fame announcement at 2.
Back to the elections...I think the peeps are more likely to vote a colored than a woman, actually. Balls, you forget - for everyone who would NOT push the lever for a black folk or a trollop, there are people salivating to do just that.
And again, you are not giving people enough credit. I dont know, I am following this closely, and people ARE into the issue, people are taking a lot of things into consideration. And Obama is on fire, and will end up with that side of the nod.
Bring it. Republicans will win the big chair in 2008.

Forgetting what she did yesterday for a minute, it is important to note that Obama had two very strong showing in states where black participation was minimal, at best. He was pooling from a glut of voters white as fresh Christmas snow, and was solid across the board. Wait until they hit the states with smatterings of charcoal about.

What worries me is momentum. I think Michigan is next, and the bitch is the only one on the ballot. NH brings momentum in her favor and puts her back in the position of front runner.
My first thought was that she stole the election. It wouldn't be out of character. I wish someone would throw water on her and end it.
It really bothers me that they have to pick the worst of the worst to represent them on the ballot. Obama is a popular alternative that at far as I know, is not corrupt. Yet a few tears and the idiots feel sorry for her.

I will not support Hillary Clinton for president Molly Ivins - January 20, 2006
AUSTIN, Texas --- I'd like to make it clear to the people who run the Democratic Party that I will not support Hillary Clinton for president.
Enough. Enough triangulation, calculation and equivocation. Enough clever straddling, enough not offending anyone This is not a Dick Morris election. Sen. Clinton is apparently incapable of taking a clear stand on the war in Iraq, and that alone is enough to disqualify her. Her failure to speak out on Terri Schiavo, not to mention that gross pandering on flag-burning, are just contemptible little dodges.
The recent death of Gene McCarthy reminded me of a lesson I spent a long, long time unlearning, so now I have to re-learn it. It's about political courage and heroes, and when a country is desperate for leadership. There are times when regular politics will not do, and this is one of those times. There are times a country is so tired of bull that only the truth can provide relief.
If no one in conventional-wisdom politics has the courage to speak up and say what needs to be said, then you go out and find some obscure junior senator from Minnesota with the guts to do it. In 1968, Gene McCarthy was the little boy who said out loud, "Look, the emperor isn't wearing any clothes." Bobby Kennedy -- rough, tough Bobby Kennedy -- didn't do it. Just this quiet man trained by Benedictines who liked to quote poetry.
What kind of courage does it take, for mercy's sake? The majority of the American people (55 percent) think the war in Iraq is a mistake and that we should get out. The majority (65 percent) of the American people want single-payer health care and are willing to pay more taxes to get it. The majority (86 percent) of the American people favor raising the minimum wage. The majority of the American people (60 percent) favor repealing Bush's tax cuts, or at least those that go only to the rich. The majority (66 percent) wants to reduce the deficit not by cutting domestic spending, but by reducing Pentagon spending or raising taxes.
The majority (77 percent) thinks we should do "whatever it takes" to protect the environment. The majority (87 percent) thinks big oil companies are gouging consumers and would support a windfall profits tax. That is the center, you fools. WHO ARE YOU AFRAID OF?
I listen to people like Rahm Emanuel superciliously explaining elementary politics to us clueless naifs outside the Beltway ("First, you have to win elections"). Can't you even read the damn polls?
Here's a prize example by someone named Barry Casselman, who writes, "There is an invisible civil war in the Democratic Party, and it is between those who are attempting to satisfy the defeatist and pacifist left base of the party and those who are attempting to prepare the party for successful elections in 2006 and 2008."
This supposedly pits Howard Dean, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, emboldened by "a string of bad news from the Middle East ... into calling for premature retreat from Iraq," versus those pragmatic folk like Steny Hoyer, Rahm Emanuel, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Joe Lieberman.
Oh come on, people -- get a grip on the concept of leadership. Look at this war -- from the lies that led us into it, to the lies they continue to dump on us daily.
You sit there in Washington so frightened of the big, bad Republican machine you have no idea what people are thinking. I'm telling you right now, Tom DeLay is going to lose in his district. If Democrats in Washington haven't got enough sense to OWN the issue of political reform, I give up on them entirely.
Do it all, go long, go for public campaign financing for Congress. I'm serious as a stroke about this -- that is the only reform that will work, and you know it, as well as everyone else who's ever studied this. Do all the goo-goo stuff everybody has made fun of all these years: embrace redistricting reform, electoral reform, House rules changes, the whole package. Put up, or shut up. Own this issue, or let Jack Abramoff politics continue to run your town.
Bush, Cheney and Co. will continue to play the patriotic bully card just as long as you let them. I've said it before: War brings out the patriotic bullies. In World War I, they went around kicking dachshunds on the grounds that dachshunds were "German dogs." They did not, however, go around kicking German shepherds. The MINUTE someone impugns your patriotism for opposing this war, turn on them like a snarling dog and explain what loving your country really means. That, or you could just piss on them elegantly, as Rep. John Murtha did. Or eviscerate them with wit (look up Mark Twain on the war in the Philippines). Or point out the latest in the endless "string of bad news."
Do not sit there cowering and pretending the only way to win is as Republican-lite. If the Washington-based party can't get up and fight, we'll find someone who can.

While I don't necessarily believe these poll numbers, this person clearly is looking for someone to actually take a stand, and is calling the bitch out on her inability to do so. But what this article lacks is specific solutions--just a lot of complaints and generalizations.
In other news, as of now, the bitch has not received a bounce in South Carolina. But who knows? Maybe she'll rig that too. I wonder what the rules are in South Carolina v. New Hampshire.

I have to admit, McCain is an interesting candidate. A poll over the weekend had him up on Clinton by about 9 points. Obviously, that means shit now, but I'd rather have him up than down. He is doing better overall nationally than the other GOP contenders.
I'm not sure why, since he doesn't seem to have that youthful charisma of a Bill Clinton/JFK/Obama, and doesn't have the likeability of a Ronald Reagan. He seems very Bob Dole-ish and that's bad.
But he is polling well, so maybe others see things I don't see.
There are pluses for McCain. Even though none of the GOP candidates are a part of the Bush Administration, McCain is very well known for his disagreements with President Bush. Given Bush's lack of popularity, that can only be a good thing. Maybe that's helping him on some level.
That could give him a more centrist reputation, which might pull in some of the democrats who don't want a super liberal like Hillary or Obama.
For the first time since I've been eligible to vote for President, I'm undecided at this stage. I'm interested in how this plays out.

That's fine, but my fear is winnability. At the primary level, that's what I care about most. Even the most leftist GOP guy will likely be better for me than the democrat nominee. Of course at this point, it looks like it will be the bitch or Obama, so there is no chance I would even consider the democrat.

LOL @ not only is colored President Dennis Haysbert ("24") endorsing Obama, he is ACTUALLY TAKING PARTIAL CREDIT for boosting him along.
Because he plays a colored President, he says, "As far as the public is concerned, it did open up their minds and hearts a little bit" in regards to accepting a possible colored President.

Fortunately, there ARE other candidates. Florida is make or break for Rudy. If he can't win there, he's done. Another favorite of mine, Fred Thompson, also has no chance. So it will come down to Romney, Huckabee or McCain.

So, you gotta love this stuff that is making the rounds. Its funny, the person who forwarded this one is an avowed Bush hater, and now they turn their guns on one of their own.
If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all your contacts...it is very scary to think of what could lie ahead for us here in our own United States...better heed this and pray about it and share it.
We checked this out on 'snopes.com'. It is factual. Check for yourself.
Who is Barack Obama?
Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white Athiest from Wichita, Kansas.
Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, 'He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.'
Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that that he is not a radical.
Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.
Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta.
Wahabism is the RADICAL ISLAMIC teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegience nor will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, one of their own!!!!
Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading our country?...... NOT US!!!
