LOL @ this quote from the USA TODAY - a guy from Cafepress.com, which is selling things like "Honk if Pluto is still a planet" bumper stickers and the like says, "Pluto items are hot, but its too early to tell how they will sell. Pluto is a planet we've known all our lives, and suddenly its not. People are taken by surprise, and some are very upset. I've seen it noted there have been a handful of suicides over the issue."

If someone truly killed themselves over Pluto, it's no loss. People like that don't contribute to society, and should be weeded out.
That said, Pluto was shafted.

Well if they teach the kids the way I learned all the planets, My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. Just take out the pizza and make the N nachos.
I saw a list of a whole bunch more "cheaters" to remember the new planetary alignment in todays paper, of all things. Try these on for size.
My Very Elderly Mother Just Sits Up Nights Major Volcanos Erupt, Making Jolts, Shaking, Unsteadying Nerves Make Very Extraordinary Meals of Jello, Strawberries and Unsalted Nuts Marys Violet Eyes Make Jack Stare Until Noticed
And everyones favorite....

All of this would be much more entertaining if Uranus was de-planeted.

All of this would be much more entertaining if Uranus was de-planeted. I had a professor in college that insisted on pronouncing Uranus as "your-in-us" versus the popular pronounciation of "your anus."

Isn't there already a planetary probe on its way to Pluto anyway?

Yes, Christina, it would, in fact, be terrible, to suddenly lose uranus...
