Well, the ROH fans have a self-important, inflated sense of entitlement. They dont want womens matches, they dont want jobber matches. Del Rey (the SHIMMER champ) and Haize are very good wrestlers (in fact, many pundits think Del Rey is the best overall womens wrestler out there, and she was trained by Brian Danielson, a favorite of the smarks) and I have seen 30 minute matches with each of them that were excellent. And I can be a harsh critic. But not like those ROH fans. They wont give the women a shot, and on top of that, on those ROH shows they condense what they can do into a short burst and I bet it comes across sloppier than usual.

Tom shows more respect for Women's wrestling than Vince does by giving them their on thread on HH....

Yeah, so you can get to the Eugene matches faster.
Back to Cheerleader Melissa, I saw her in a "Falls Count Anywhere" battle with this witchy MsChif character, and they were laying waste to everything. MsChif is a limber sort, and at one point Melissa folded her up to where she was making MsChif kick herself with her own foot.

Tom, you shouldn't be making fun of special people like Eugene. He could be Mr. McMahon's son.

Well, along with ushering in the era of an extra hour to showcase their wares week to week on TNA, word is TNA will be adding a Womens Title. To do that, they will need more women who can work. To a fan of women wrestlers who can work, like me, this is a good thing.
See, this is one of the reasons the 2-hour show is a good thing - it opens up more possibilities, and forget about the women - it will give us longer matches, and more character development. The shows can breathe a bit more.
I have heard some rumored names bandied about, and even you neanderthal "women cant wrestle" guys would be won over, and for those of you who just like to look at the girls, well, you should be taken care of as well.

Dont forget Roxxi Levoux! Crap gimmick, pretty good wrestler in Nikki Roxx. I have heard there were SHIMMER wrestlers backstage at some of last months Impact tapings. I also heard an unconfirmed rumor that TNA may bring in a whole handful of them. Cheerleader Melissa should be a must as she is an Indy queen with a great rep, and some WWE training to boot. Mercedes Martinez is on the shelf for now with an injury. Del Rey may be one of the few women with ties to ROH, Lacey as well (although I heard Lacey was backstage at those TNA tapings)
Dont be surprised if they try to make a splash and finally rope in Lita (they have had talks) and even make a wild stab at someone like Trish.
One thing I can say for sure is TNA, if planning on adding a Womens title, will NOT be going to bat with Kim, Christy, Brooks, and one or two others. It may be an influx, and thankfully from what I also hear, they are looking for wrestlers and not bikini models.

Score one for TNA. I guess this is why WWE is putting their womens strap on Beth Pheonix to feud with Mickey James. If TNA can pull this off I would be very happy. And with the show going to two hours I'm going to pass on the replays during the week and jut watch it when it airs. But I really hope TNA pulls off a good womens division.

Funny thing about Beth Phoenix. In WWE she is a steamroller, but in her appearances on the early SHIMMER offerings, she played a chickenspit crybaby heel. She would backpedal to the ropes, drop on her knees with her arm outstretched whining, "no, no, please no" and whine to the referees about everything.
Cause of this, she would end up bumped all around the ring. She played that role to a t. Wether you like her or not, considering how well she did that, and how well she is playing a kickass killer heel right now, she shows some talent and versatility. Big fan, and I was stoked she won the battle royal for the title shot.

My guess is the strap goes to her cause Candice is....well, Candice. Improved, but no where near good as Beth, Mickey or Victoria. I hope the feud with Beth and Mickey stretches out a while.

You know whats the most annoying thing about Candice? Well, theres a few things....but the worst is the habit she has of pumping her arm in the air, with the belt outstretched. She jabs the belt into the air. Watch her next time she comes out with the belt, its really aggravating.

Yes, I agree. Get the belt on someone else.

The thing I hate most about Candice is the way she sells the pain a move is inflicting. It's like a bad Maria impression, the grunts and groan, it sounds awful. I'd rather listen to Yoko Ono sing than Candice sell moves.

So just got finished watching this weeks TNA effort. An interesting note is when Cornette, talking about the 10 women gauntlet battle royal which was scheduled despite TNA having just about half of those 10, said "there'll be 5 women you know...and 5 women you do not know."
So either they are bringing in ringers, or bringing on a stable of a womens division pretty much earlier than i would have imagined.

No, not really, cause its inevitable that she is going to take that strap. From all accounts, she was throwing Candice all over the ring last night. Dont forget, I like Candice too, especially in that she has improved her wrestling tenfold recently, and at least tries to take herself seriously. I can respect that.
But Beth is much more credible, and I look forward to her hoisting the strap. Could be as early as tonight, WWE has a nasty habit of giving PPV rematches to the people who did not bother to buy the match the first time around, the very next night.

I was actually thinking they may give her the strap tonight as well. One bad thing about the women's championship is that it seems everyone gets the strap at some point. I'm no fan of Candace's though she is hot.
Maybe it's because Phoenix hasn't been around that long and it's a dues paying thing. But yeah, she will inevitably get the belt.

was looking around the sites saw this on the DOI.
he DOI can confirm that ODB (OVW wrestler but not under WWE contract) & Angel Williams (Recently released from a WWE developmental contract) will also be in the match. Shelley Martinez (ECW's Ariel) is also rumored to be in the match, but we can only 99% confirm it as of press time. The DOI has heard one other name, but can't confirm it. Once we can, we'll post it here.
didnt know Ariel could wrestle. could be interesting

Hmmm. Not a fan of any of those 3. Oh well. Oh, and Ariel can wrestle....badly. I am, however, dubious that she may be involved in this. We'll see. Sigh. I could not have come up with 3 more uninspiring names if I tried.

Ok, along with the names mentioned, throw in Talia Madison (dont know much about her, have no opinion)....and AMAZING KONG. Whoa...if that much is true, wow. Amazing Kong is SICK. She is the Vader of the womens wrestling world. Lots of the guys around here will hate her cause she is a big black woman, but she is dangerous, quite agile, and very good. She also cuts a good promo, but who knows if she would ever get promo time in the American promotions (she does most of her work in Japan) You can find some pretty cool Kong stuff on YouTube. Here's a pic of her tossing Nikki Roxx (aka Roxxi Levoux) around

Well, the other 5 names are seemingly official, as they were shot out via TNA's mobile service sometime today. Culled this off of Wrestleview. Kong is awesome to see, but I am not too fired up by this list. I was hoping for more. I just read that JAZZ has also just signed with TNA. She's a bully of a worker, has a good rep, but I am not a fan.
TigerGroge sent us word that TNA's mobile service issued an update stating that the other five women slated to compete in the Knockouts Guantlet Match to determine a first ever TNA Women's Champion will include ODB, Shelly Martinez (former WWE/ECW Diva Ariel), Talia Madison, Angel Williams (former WWE developmental diva) and Amazing Kong. The TNA Knockouts already confirmed for the match include Christy Hemme, Gail Kim, Ms. Brooks, Jackie Moore and Roxxy Laveaux.

Sounds like a female Iron Mike Sharpe (aka Canada's Greatest Athlete) to me....

Another "diva" debuts on this weeks Smackdown, one Krissy Vaine. Another dizzy blonde type. I remember her being a sloppy wrestler when I saw her as part of "Team Blondage" in the early days of SHIMMER. She has been down in the WWE farm, where apparently she showed a lot of charisma in roles which included the omnipotent evil commish. From tonights tapings... (1) Victoria d. Torrie Wilson, this was really bad. They had to redo the finish as they messed it up bad. Krissy Vaine made her debut after the match by attacking Wilson. Michelle McCool made the save. Crowd was dead for all of this.
