HAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! I love that the guy is about 5'5 and that pitch came across the brim of his helmet....and he grabs his elbow!!!!!!!!
Even funnier, you can hear someone in the crowd, right after he grabs his elbow, exclaim, "Oh NOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Whats next, Balls, footage of the Kennedy assassination? That is really old news. That video was bouncing around during the advent of the internet, for Christs sake.
Why dont you pull out some footage of that baseball clown while you're at it, or Casey Stengel coming on the field to tip his cap, only to have a pigeon fly out from underneath it?
When I started this thread I was hoping for some timely stuff.

Tommy Lasorda was the "Petros and Money" show on KLAC sports talk 570AM being broadcast live from Dodger Stadium last night...told a good story.
The Dodgers were in Cincinnati and Lasorda had an idea that he should go to church and pray because he really wanted to beat the Reds that night. He said as we was sitting there during mass, he saw Reds manager John McNamara walk in...both sat through mass pretending they didn't see each other. Finally after mass, McNamara acknowledged Lasorda and said, "Hey Tommy, wait a minute for me outside would ya?" Lasorda agreed....while waiting outside, peeking back into the church, he saw McNamara on bended knee off to the the side of the pews praying, then he lit a candle. Lasorda, hurried into the Church and went to the other side, kneeled as well and prayed until he saw McNamara get up and walk out of the church. Then Tommy went over and blew McNamara's candle out. He spent the whole game that night yelling across the field, "Hey Johnny, it ain't gonna work..I blew it out!"
Lasorda said he got a post-card from Italy from McNamara and his wife recently that read, "Blow THIS out!"

The Phillies now have 10000 losses as a team. First team to accomplish that.

Nothing to be ashamed of. A longevity thing. And todays Phils have nothing to do with the transgressions of some of the horrid rosters that team has sported over time.
I'm glad they got the 10,000 and I dont have to keep reading about it anymore.

I disagree that it is nothing to be ashamed of.
I think it's an embarassment worthy of that shithole city.
Record of longevity? Compared to the Yankees, sure. But chew on this:
The Pirates have been around since 1882 and are 9596-9343 to date.
The Cubs have been around since 1876 and are 9948-9425 to date!
The Phillies have been around since 1883 and are 8810-10001 to date!
That is AWFUL.
Philadelphia SUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.
The Phillies have been around since 1883 and have lost 10,001 games to date.

It's an average of approximately 80.33 losses a year, 10001/124.5.
And yeah, it's an embarassment.
An even BIGGER embarassment is that they have just ONE championship in 125 seasons.
No other team has 10000 losses, and I don't even think any team is even close.

The Braves will not see 10000 losses much before 2012ish.
The Cubs more like 2015.

7138, according to baseball-reference, and I think that's current.

Since you mentioned his name, the most misleading stat in baseball history may be that as a Yankee, Eddie lee Whitson was 15-10 with 2 shutouts. That's a .600 winning percentage...

Whitson's ERA was 5.41 as a Yankee. That sucks even by today's standards. In 1985-86, it was worthy enough to get fans to follow you home and stalk you.

The fact that a Mets fan, in a Mets jersey got the 756 ball is very funny to me. Fuck the Giants' fans for supporting that piece of shit.

LOL @ Andy Van Slyke.
Apparently after Saturdays Yankee/Tiger tilt, the Tiger coach and his wife decided to take the subway back to Midtown. He got a Metrocard, using his credit card, but they swiped and swiped to no avail at the turnstile. FInally they got fed up, and jumped the turnstile, and were nabbed.
POST says as they stood there being ticketed $60 each, people walking by chanted "Jumpers! Jumpers!" at them.

The dude who caught 756 was on SNY last night - he is splitting the proceeds 51/49 with his friend "EMIR" - no way should a Paki profit from the homerun record. That's unAmerican.

So apparently our Yankees are whining a little in regards to a silly video game promotion Toronto does, where between innings some fans get to play a video baseball game on the scoreboard. So we already know A-Rod is not the most popular guy up there, but a couple of fans enjoyed themselves last night throwing at him.
First pitch was high and tight, but missed, but the second pitch beaned him, and the crowd went raucous. Of course, Joe Torre had to ruin all the fun, and he complained, and apparently even put in a call to the league offices. And now Toronto is apologizing, and trying to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.
