Actually, as you posted it, steroids make you have less strength, which lowers your bat speed, and makes you hit the ball a lesser distance.
I think you're wrong on all counts.

Greenies are physical, stop being silly.
BOTH are mental and physical, it jsut that Steroids are just on a higher level. And either way, are Greenies or amphetamines legal? I don't recall them being so. And legality does not mean safe.

Which one Mental or Physical? decide Since when is your heart rate 'mental' ? Amphetamines are not a 'mind altering' drug....They are purely physical. You are 100% incorrect in that assesment. And they ARE ILLEGAL, and they DO help a player RUN faster enhancing their performance. They were used to gain an advantage - to cheat ILLEGALLY. THEY ARE BANNED FOR THAT REASON.

The defense of Greenies = "I don't want to have to say 'Mickey Mantle should be wiped off the books for using greenies' the way Bonds should for using steroids."

Ken Griffey Jr's and Andruw Jones' physical transformations didn't take place in their MID 30s, either.
I doubt their shoe sizes increased two and a half sizes in a few year span, in their 30s.
I love that the dude who makes Barry Bonds' arm braces is willing to go on record that he hasn't noticed any measurable change in Bonds' size, yet this morning ESPN documented Bonds' OWN explanation as to why he showed up to the 2000 Training Camp so significantly bigger.
BTW - an "orthotist" is not a doctor. Gotta love the way that articles cites his title in an attempt to lend some credibility - the guy might as well be an optician. An "orthotist" is under no Hippocratic Oath and nowhere near the explicit scrutiny that a physician is under. After this article, Silva will go back to his exciting life of making foam tennis shoe inserts.

Uhhhh, not sure where you took your Math courses, Balls:
I wrote "Roids = < strength = < bat speed = < distance on a batted ball"
I will ammend that to "Roids = (< strength) = (< bat speed) = (< distance on a batted ball)"
I did NOT write "Roids < strength < bat speed < distance on a batted ball" ****************************************************
Roids =
< strength (strength is GREATER THAN)
=
< bat speed (bat speed is GREATER THAN)
=
< distance on a batted ball (distance on a batted ball is GREATER THAN)

By the way, as much as it's obvious that Bonds is physically bigger, I'm going to need a lot more than hearsay accounts on hat and feet sizes.
Granted, I haven't looking into it and found the official size and stuff from MLB or some other reliable source, mainly because I don't care, but WHO exactly is saying his hat and shoes sizes grew? Because the only time I ever hear it is from fans who think Barry is a dick.

Equally startling are these numbers: According to Mark Fainaru-Wada and Lance Williams, the San Francisco Chronicle reporters who wrote "Game of Shadows: Barry Bonds, BALCO, and the Steroids Scandal That Rocked Professional Sports," Mike Murphy, equipment manager of the San Francisco Giants, testified that since Bonds became a Giant in 1993, the size of his uniform jersey has gone from 42 to 52. His cap size has expanded from 7 1/8 to 7 1/4, even though while it was expanding he shaved his head. (Bonds reportedly shaved his head because his hair was falling out as a result of steroid use.) And Fainaru-Wada and Williams also say Murphy testified that Bonds's baseball shoe size has changed from 10½ to 13.

Oh, I see. So Mike friggin' Murphy, an equipment manager, is the be-all end-all on the topic. Bonds laughs it all off. I too find the idea of his shoe size growing so much absurd. He denies it. I take his word over that of Mr Mike Murphy. Bonds IS the home run champ, after all.
Wow! What a tremendous disparity in cap size!!!! From 7 1/4 to 7 1/8! Oh my God! Give me a break.

Not that I was defending Bonds, but at this point it all sounds like the witch hunters are the ones presenting that evidence as just saying "Did you know?" type proof.
You also have to take into account the fact that these guys may be in on the witch hunt to gain notoriety.

Maybe you didn't see the KEY word in there Tom:
Murphy testified that Bonds's baseball shoe size has changed from 10½ to 13.
This was not a testification to a couple of douchebag reporters with an axe to grind...this was a grand jury order to testify in 2005.
I don't know about you, but normally people who aren't under the gun, aren't under legal scrutiny, who don't have anything to gain and actually have some reason to fear a perjury charge, don't testify false information

Sure, but when? When did they testify and in what case? The Balco case?

Chris--- the symbol < means LESS than. The symbol > means GREATER than.
If you meant increased, you were not clear. Your post is invalid.

Balls, CLEARLY Math is not your strong suit.
Please review your GRADE SCHOOL texts!
The operator "<" ONLY means less than in regards to the operand on the left side of the symbol. It means the operand on the right side of the operator is GREATER THAN.
In my example, all of the OPERANDS were on the right side of the OPERATOR. My statement is MATHEMATICALLY and PHYSICALLY accurate....as is my assessment that you need some city college refresher courses!
(1 < 2) EQUALS (2 > 1)
By your logic: (1 < 2) translates to "1 is less than 2" (2 > 1) translates to "2 is less than 1"
You're wrong.

And yes, Murphy's grand jury testimonial in 2005 was part of the Balco investigation, specifically as it relates to the attempt to prove that Barry Bonds committed perjury in the very same case.

Just because Chris used his symbols poorly doesn't change anything. < does not mean increased. It does not mean GREATER. It means GREATER THAN. =< is about as close to less than or equal to as one can get on a computer.
Either way, it was poor choices and did not convey your intent satisfactorily.
Your post gets a D-.

That said: "Roids = < strength = < bat speed = < distance on a batted ball" is a confusing way to express the point. You couldn't just say "Enhanced strength, bat speed..."?
