It's not because I like bad, corny TV. It's because the first two seasons of Happy Days weren't all that good. There's a reason they completely retooled the show, and tens of millions of Americans found it to be an improvement.
The show still stands up very well today.

So we've been really riffing off the episodes on Season 1 of THE MUPPET SHOW. Emma has taken a fancy, and we watch it together at the rate of 5 episodes a week or so. One more and season 1 is in the books, and i need to order Season 2.
Fun show, of course. The songs are wonderful. Its cool to see the old stars hanging around as guests, from Ethel Merman (I realized I REALLY like her singing voice) to Paul Williams and Vincent Price. Some portly comedienne, Kaye Ballard (who is still alive and like 85 now) had a fistfight with Miss Piggy on the show, and on that same episode Animal attacked Kermit and folded him like a suitcase. Im lovin these.

Folks...just stumbled upon this....GET SMART, season 1, out tomorrow (8/5) on DVD. 4 discs, 900 minutes....for $16.99 on AMAZON.COM! No, this is NOT the updated Get Smart...this is the 1965 version. The updated version is indeed available, as a "complete series." Folks, this is a must buy, specially at that price.

That's SWEET! I'll pick that one up FOR SURE.
I have a boatload of Get Smart episodes saved to Tivo and am just too lazy to offload them on to DVDs....$16.99 is a small price to spare me the trouble.

My Get Smart Season 1 is currently in transit. I really want to make an effort to finish off Seasons 3-4 of Knight Rider before moving on, but I wouldn't say no to that price.

He didn't waste $100.
He wasted $4.11 on Emergency, $2.08 on Dexter, $4.26 on Stella, and $5.80 on Great American Bash.
So he wasted $16.25, by going through Amazon instead of shopping around, and this includes shipping costs.

Balls, all that is made up later with my Amazon reward points. Every couple of months they send us $25 credit to spend, making those charges moot.

How much do you have to spend to get that credit? If you shop carefully, you can earn those credits AND the money. You're basically NOT getting the credit because you are paying too much. Amazon DOES have the lowest prices on many things, but not all DVDs.

For the amount of money you donated to Amazon, you could have got Get Smart for 70 cents.

Watched the pilot of Get Smart last night. It had a lot of laughs in it. That humor still holds up. There was this scene where he got in a limo and couldn't close a car door which had me rolling.

Just purchased Dexter seasons 1 and 2.
I believe Dexter Season 2 lands in our mailbox today. We are stoked for it, we just finished up 1 a few weeks ago. Quality programming.
Watched Get Smart episode 2 yesterday and it certainly had its moments. There are groaners, sure, but what comedy comes without. I am stoked there are THIRTY episodes in this set. Lots of fun.

Its funny, we watched Dexter Season 1 and I lent it to someone at work who never saw the show. We then started watching Band of Brothers, and are on episode 8 of 10. The girl at work went through Dexter 1 quickly, and enjoyed it enough she is now in the middle of Season 2. So she passed us.
I have season 2 on tap, we will watch starting the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to it.

So we finished up with BAND OF BROTHERS, which I saw for the first time. Dana had seen it already. Enjoyed it. We averaged an episode a week. Afterwards I hopped onto Amazon cause I knew of the rep this production had, and wanted to see what the masses thought. Of like 1200 reviews on Amazon, over 1100 were 5 stars. I think like 40 or so were either 1 or 2 out of 5.
So no complaints on that one, it was great all around.
We are now moving on to either Dexter Season 2, or Black Donnellys (which we never finished up on) - Actually, i think we will watch them concurrently, an episode of each in doubleheader fashion on our TV nights. Prob is all our 'regular shows" are kicking up again (House, Supernatural, Law and Order SVU)

There's a scene in the beginning, where she's breaking up with him, in which we, the viewer, get more than enough exposure to Jason Segal's member....but it's all limited to one scene.

I was a little disappointed in my Welcome Back Kotter Season 1 DVD...just a little, for the following reason:
The first show didn't seem to be your traditional pilot. Was there an actual pilot?
The first episode was about forming a debate team to debate James Woods' class, known as the Turkeys. This show started off with Kotter and the Sweathogs already knowing each other by name, their history, etc.
Wasn't there ever an episode about Mr. Kotter's first day, returning to his high school, being introduced to the new Sweathogs for the first time?
EDIT**********************
And further research I have my answer.
I've only watched episode 1 thus far - The Debate. As I stated, this episode started off with Gabe and the Sweathogs already being fully familiar with one another. This puzzled me. This episode originally aired 9/9/1975
The pilot, "Welcome Back" described as "Gabe Kotter wakes up in the morning ready to start his first day as a teacher at his alma mater, James Buchanan high school. When he arrives, Vice Principle Woodman assigns Kotter to teach the remedial class of school misfits known as the Sweathogs - the class that Kotter was a part of as a student." This was the third episode aired, airing three weeks after "The Debate."
Odd.

Just as there are websites and publications logging Jack Handey's Deep Thoughts ....
.... there should be a similar collection of Gabe Kaplan's "Julie, did I ever tell you about my uncle...." jokes.
