Hey! It wasnt "some S&M freak." I believe it was John Candy, and I even think he was wearing reindeer horns or a Santa hat.

You guys are jealous. I just did get in the mail Metal Xmas, which features, among other ditties, DIO singing "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman", and Lemmy singing "Run Rudolph Run."
Chuck Billy of Testament does a death-growl version of "Silent Night", backed up by Scott Ian and some other musicians. In fact, there are well over a dozen "metal" musicians - or hard rockers, from Geoff Tate of Queensryche, Steven Pearcy from Ratt, Tim "Ripper" Owens, and a host of others.
No joke, the cover of "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" is supposed to be kickass.
Its a Metal Xmas for me!

Dio has rocked for a long long time.
He has soared on the wings of a demon.

I can't believe none of you threw in John Lennon's & Yoko Ono's "Happy Christmas." Hearing Yoko makes me cringe but I do like the version that Melissa Etheridge recorded.

I got yelled at for this last year (see page one), but I'm sorry: I still despise "Holly Jolly Christmas." I don't know why, but something about that song just irks me.

Everytime I hear "Jingle Bell Rock" (regardless of who sings it), I think of that video that Hall & Oates made in the early 80's.

Burl Ives singing Holly Jolly Christmas fills me with mirth, especially when he sings about having a "cup of cheer."
Dana and I were laughing about her take on the "date rape" song - the "Baby, Its Cold Inside" ditty. I will let her speak on the million things wrong with that song (ie - the "whats in this drink?" line)
Oh, and that song Bing sings about "I've bought some corn for poppin'" - yo, anyone ever shows up to my place with some "corn for poppin" they are not getting in.
Oh, and whats this crap about "bring us some figgy putting ,and bring it right now....we wont leave until we get some, no we wont leave until we get some." Well, you know what? F you! You get nothing.

You get nothing. I was at a Winter Concert at NYU last night and one of the choral groups sang this song. I thought about Tom's take and wanted to laugh my ass off...especially when to basses stood defiantly (body language & facial expression) during the line of "we won't go until we get some."

You know, going back to my "corn for poppin'" complaint - I heard a woman sing it today, and it was not nearly as bad. I think a woman could get away with it. If a guy came over to our place with some "corn for poppin" he's not getting in.

It is totally the date rape song.
I really can’t stay (Baby, it’s cold outside) I’ve got to go ‘way (Baby, it’s cold outside) The evening has been (I’ve been hopin’ that you’d drop in) So very nice (I’ll hold your hand, they’re just like ice)
My mother will start to worry (Hey beautiful, what’s your hurry) And father will be pacing the floor (Listen to that fireplace roar) So really, I’d better scurry (Beautiful, please don’t hurry) Well, maybe just a half a drink more (Put some music on while I pour)
The neighbors might think (Baby, it’s bad out there) [glow=red,2,300]Say, what’s in this drink[/glow] (No cabs to be had out there) I wish I knew how (Your eyes are like starlight now) To break this spell (I’ll take your hat, your hair looks swell) [glow=red,2,300] I oughtta say no, no, no sir (You mind if I move in closer)[/glow] At least I’m gonna say that I tried (And [glow=red,2,300]what’s the sense in hurting my pride)[/glow]I really can’t stay ([glow=red,2,300]Oh baby, don’t hold out)[/glow]Oh, but it’s cold outside
I simply must go (It’s cold outside) The answer is no (Baby, it’s cold outside) The welcome has been (So lucky that you dropped in) So nice and warm (Look out the window at that storm)
My sister will be suspicious (Your lips look delicious) [glow=red,2,300]My brother will be there at the door (I ain’t worried about you brother) My maiden aunt’s mind is vicious (That ol’ biddy, she ain’t gonna bother me)[/glow] Well maybe just a cigarette more (You don’t need no cigarette, it’s smokin’ plenty up in here)
I’ve got to get home (Baby, you’ll freeze out there) Say, lend me a comb (It’s up to your knees out there) You’ve really been grand (I thrill when you touch my hand) Oh, but don’t you see ([glow=red,2,300]How can you do this thing to me[/glow])
There’s bound to be talk tomorrow (Well, think of my lifelong sorrow) At least there will be plenty implied (If you caught pneumonia and died) I really can’t stay (Get over that hold out) Oh, but baby it’s cold outside

It is totally the date rape song. I was in JC Penney on Saturday and when that song started on the PA, I started to laugh.

Folks, this may be the best Christmas CD of all. Love this thing. Since we picked it up a few years ago, its a regular around the holiday season. All original songs, almost all great holiday songs. Fantastic, highly recommended!
