Yeah, because the Isles don't play that style and they can't fill their arena either. LOL!

And the Nets play a pretty enjoyable brand of basketball, and they can't fill their arena.

The Islanders have not done nearly as much winning. The Devils play to cobwebs even when they run the table. Stop being delusional, wether you find it personally abhorrent or no, dont deny the Devils, for years, played a brand of hockey derided by more than less.

Yeah, but what puts cheeks in the seats is not always the style of play that appeals to true fans of the sport... if you don't really understand the game, you can't appreciate how the Devils skate like a cohesive unit.

Laura, I appreciate the game 100 times more than you ever can, and have since I was a 6 year old watching Bruins games on cablevision when the Islanders were not on. I spend more time listening to college hockey podcasts than a lot of people spend watching TV. So get off your high-horse and read up on the Devils, and how the NHL did whatever it could to get their style of play from ruining the game any more than it did.
Look, I came on here and said wether he is facing 12 shots or 40 shots, Brodeur is an all-time great, and may be the greatest goalie I have ever seen. That does nothing to erase the fact that he spent more time standing around watching the puck go back and forth at center-ice than probably any goalie in history.

I submit that it's actually more difficult to make the saves he makes when he has to stand around a lot. Keeping focused when you aren't getting peppered with shots is difficult.
As for why the Devils don't pack the arena, you know damn well why they don't pack it, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the style of play.

Justin, I am indeed aware of that, but I am sure if they made a living playing a more exciting style of hockey in the past they would draw at least a few thousand more a night. Again, anyone who denies the Devils have a rep of playing "boring hockey" are just being difficult.

Tom again I disagree...winning sells tickets and they win so I submit no matter what style they played the attendance would be the attendance regardless (and would be no better or worse than present)....Put them in MSG and the "boring trap" would be a sellout also same with Islanders....

You're pushing it with the Islanders. They had trouble selling that place out two years after they won the 4th cup. Devils/Isles just play in arenas that have noting around it.

Grover I meant if you put the Devils or Islanders in MSG, they would both sell out.....

T, I am not trying to argue with you, merely expressing an opinion that I have expressed many times before. John can vouch for the fact that I have commented many times at Devils games how much I really enjoy the cohesiveness of the team.

You sat next to me at more than a few Devils games!
It's not like I can usually find actual Devils fans to go to games with... the choice is Rangers fans, a Flyers fan, or a few friends who don't mind blowing $20 to drink beers in an arena...
