Lots planned for tonight, revolving around the 3 hour draft and "Vince McMahon Appreciation Night" planned. Kicking off at 8, folks.
Special guests include - no joke - Bobby Heenan, Jesse Ventura, and Mean Gene. Also, Steve O from Jackass will be on hand to kick off that stupid angle. And Booker T told an interviewer that although he is not ready for a ring return, he was told to be on hand as well.
Fun, fun, fun!

Probably not until late summer. He's not nearly ready. But I would not surprised to see him sticking his big nose into things.
From all accounts the DX Reunion is done (yay!) but HHH will most likely pick up the mantle for HBK and try to avenge his heinous injuries at the hands of Randy Orton.

I've been watching a bunch of old DX stuff from 97 on youtube, makes me miss the old HBK and made me realize the newer dx was way worse than I origianlly thought. I mean it's not like HBK will call JR a fat tub of goo anymore. But it was cool seeing them team up again sporting the green and black last year. As for the draft tonight, really looking foward to it. Can't wait to see where some guys will go and what suprises people will pull out. Also, I love this Vince angle. I've never really hated a McMahon angle except with Zack Gowen, but this crazy, senile, insanity thing he's got going on is fucking comedy gold. Wonder how that will play out.
Hey Tom, how long is Michales supposed to be out? I read a month or two origianlly. Are they still going to play up his "carreer might be over" angle and won't even acknowledge him or is there the possibility he could get drafted cause I could see him going to SD, feuding with Edge, then when Taker comes back and of course Batista who's getting a lot better in the ring, if those guys even stay on SD. Think HBK will be involved tonight or cause it's Shawn Michaels there's no chance of him leaving raw?
Oh and I'm going to toast my favorite color man in the biz when Hennan is on. You know back in 92, he called Michaels the wrestelr of the 90s? He was funny and knew talent when he saw it, duh. My point being if you take the 100 best matches of the 90s, HBK is in a lot and the Brain knew it too. I wish his voice wasn't fucked up and he'd replace that unfunny hack Lawler. I can't beleive I like JR more than king. I want a time machine to hear Monsoon and the Brain again.

I liked Michaels as a heel in the 90s. From throwing Jannetty through the window until about a month or so after his face turn, the man was arguably the best in the business.
Heenan and Ventura should be fun to watch.

I dont think Michaels is going to be back in time for Summerslam. No rush anyway....he needs time off. From what I read he has been off his feet completely for the first couple of weeks after the surgery, he is not even walking yet. I will give him one thing...he does not need the money, he wrestles cause he loves it. That deserves respect, although I would not mind him sitting out a while.
Who knows regarding Jesse and Heenan, I am not sure if they are going to be "announcing draft picks" or if Vince is crazy and thinks its the 90s again and sticks them at the desk, we'll have to see. I am going to go in expecting little, so I am not dissapointed. Heenan looks worse every time he comes out - I mean, God bless the man, but I do think its time to keep him off tv.

Monsoon could even carry Lord Alfred back in the day. Hear that pair a lot during these televised house shows. Last night, during the Boston card, Monsoon called Hayes "a man about town." That about sums it up.

Heenan does look worse and worse every time out. What's amazing is how Okerlund never ages. Something about going bald young I guess.
It would be hard for Ventura to be great again unless he really is up on the angles.

Ok, more clarification is coming in.... the reason these old faces are coming back (and most will be by VIDEO only, apparently) is for the scheduled "Vince McMahon Appreciation Night" part of things.
Here is the list being talked about now...Brett Hart was talked about being on Raw (by video) on WWE.COM, so its going to happen....its kind of big.
WWE.com has updated the list of people to comment on Mr. McMahon, which now reads like a who is who of wrestling:
-"Stone Cold" Steve Austin -Former Minnesota Governor and WWE Hall of Famer Jesse "The Body" Ventura -Donald Trump -WWE Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka -MTV's Jackass star Steve-O -WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano -WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart -Multi-platinum recording artist Snoop Dogg -WWE Hall of Famer Bobby "The Brain" Heenan -"Hardcore Legend" Mick Foley -WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper -Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban -WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik -Legendary sportscaster Bob Costas -WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes -WWE Hall of Famer "Mean" Gene Okerlund

LOL @ WWE.COM splashing the banner headline/pic "Vince McMahon Presumed Dead" after that "car explosion."
I bet HHH did it!
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – A night originally designated Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night turned deadly when the WWE Chairman’s limousine burst into a fiery explosion just moments after Mr. McMahon stepped into it. Permanently uprooting the world of sports-entertainment, the Chairman has been presumed dead in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
Check back with WWE.com as more details become available on this shocking news.

I turned it off after the draft ended. I guess the last ten minutes were worth watching. That sounds very funny. As for the draft, I agree that the Snitsky/Miz ending sucked, but it was kind of funny. The only disappointment with the draft for me is Flair going to Smackdown. Other than that, the changes were pretty decent. Here's a funny excerpt from the article on McMahon: "This incident is the first of its kind since the assassination of political figure Orlando Letelier in Washington, D.C. in 1976. Sources say that given the nature of the apparent car bombing, under law federal authorities will be called in for a more thorough investigation that would supersede local Pennsylvania authorities."

Tomorrows "Supplemental Draft" - slated for noon, has been postponed to this coming Sunday. You know, out of respect to the demise of Mr McMahon. Of course, last night after all that went down, you had the oblligatory hundreds of phonecalls to local authorities, wondering if the explosion and aftermath were "real."

Are we also suppose to believe the limo driver is dead too? I thought Vince did the corperate ministry or darkness thing already, what is he gonna do, come back from the dead now?

I'll give him credit. He's always had balls. This is a pretty gutsy storyline. Definitely a Holy Shit moment that hasn't been there in a while. I hope he doesn't come back like right away. That would suck ass. Let it drag out over the summer. Odds on HHH being the bomber have to be 1-1.

Yeah, but as I said, they cant do a true "Who dun it" with whoever did it not seeing repercussions (jail, for one)
I am sure it will end with it being revealed he faked his own death, cause he wanted to make everyone feel guilty for hating him, or he wanted to be appreciated after the fact, you pick the reason. The fact that "a body has not been recovered" - yet alone a fragment, according to the storyline, points to this.
If they were really going to play he was dead, they would have announced his body was recovered.

But it shows how nuts he really is. The whole attitude era was to try and keep people guessing wht was real and fake, shoot and promo. Nowadays, they hype it as sports entertainment but want the general consensus to think he is actually pressumed to be dead. I'm not going to make a stink he contradicts himself, it is wrestling, but he really thinks of most viewers as idiots. This is going more overboard than Katie Vick.

I respectfuly disagree. No way they think more than 1% of the people who saw/heard of this think he is dead. Even the "coverage" is campy. They are NOT trying to fool anyone. Everyone knows the deal. Again, if they were trying to fool anyone, they would start by claiming the body was found.
In no way does the "general consensus" think he is dead. The ONLY complaint most people have about it is that it TRIVIALIZES the real deaths that they are always dealing with. Its odd to use wwe.com to report on both real and fake deaths.
Its funny that people think Vince is trying to "fool" people into thinking he is really dead outside of the storyline alone, and yet people know not to treat Deuce and Domino as two guys who really think they are 50s throwbacks.
People "get it" - really, they do.

I agree it cheapens the death.10 bell salute to others, but local newspapers were reporting an explosion, local news coverage talked about it, even bashing it, but whatever the outcome, Vince does think he's pulling off some great angle, the best fast one ever. Of course the presumed dead thing will be prominent, and his reasoning for "returning" will be more lilely than not, believable. And that will be his loop hole, but smart smarks know whats up, however, some idiot 8 year old is bragging to his friends he saw Vince limo up and he's thought to be dead. And yeah te hee, why don;t I believe it then right, but in all seriousness, people with half a brain know it's staged, but the audience vince is aiming at, Cean fans, buy into it. I can't dissprove your points, but I truely think he thinks he's pulling one over on the joe schmoe wrestling fan.

It's an interesting situation. Whenever a wrestler dies, there's always a belief in the back of your head that it's an angle. Now, it really IS an angle.
They built up a decent angle here, but I wonder how the payoff is going to be. Sometimes, it's very hard to END an angle like that.
Hopefully it won't drag TOO long.

James, you are delusional.....NO ONE is buying this. NO ONE. Even the reports on the "explosion" in the papers were done as feature stories. Not one outlet reported this story as real. You guys need to get over it.

No doubt. That's a big problem with it too. Since no one believes it, especially given that it was obviously filmed in advance, how long can they possibly run the angle?

Balls, are you kidding? Wrestling has always had angles that run even when the cover is blown, or people know they are fake. Did you think Austin was really run down a few years ago? Did you think Undertaker was raised to the heavens in an arena for real? Did you think Matilda was really kidnapped by the Islanders? Did you think that Earthquake really killed Jake the Snakes snake?
You guys are taking this WAAAAAYYY too seriously....

Yeah, good point on that, I was meaning to address that - VINCE McMahon has not died, has never been mentioned as dying, nothing. There IS a difference here.
But again, its a wrestling angle that NO ONE thinks is real, so there is no harm here.
Oh, and two of my favorites charcoals, MVP and Mark Henry, remain on Smackdown.

I like how they stripped Lashley of the ECW title. That makes a good angle for ECW, and it saves the necessity to draft either Cena or Edge to ECW like they did when they switched Cena and Batista last time.
As for the angle, it's really not necessary to drag it on for a month.

Tom, my point is Vince is the one thinking this is blurring the lines, not the fans, Vince thinks he's pulling a fast one and thinks everyone buys it cause HE'S delusional, not me.
