I got half my wish! which I'm ok with, as long as Anoop stays. Jorge was just really.... cheesy and weird.
Kelly Clarkson was looking quite round from what I saw going on >> through her song.

Kelly Clarkson was VERY round last night. It wasn't just your eyes. That's the first thing I noticed and the wife, who was on the phone, even spoke up from her conversation and commented.
I would rather have Anoop gone instread of Jasmine but not a real difference.

Kelly wasn't round. She was fat.
She's a fixer upper.
As for Anoop, every so often, there's a contestant that defies odds and stays on the show far longer than they should. Maybe votefortheworst.com helps, but it happens. I really hope that this happens with Anoop. I know he's not good enough to win, but like John Stevens or Pen Man Jon Peter Lewis, I enjoy his gimmick.
Another bad review from the judges, and that's that though. He really wasn't that bad this week. He SANG well. But you just can't choose Beat It.

Kelly looked beat up from the feet up. We were blazing through on the DVR so fast we did not even notice there were TWO, and not one, eliminations last night, but when we blitzed past her I was like, "why is Anne Murray on here tonight?" I didnt know it was her.
Anoop should have went. I think we are saying the Sanjaya thing starting to kick in, keeping around someone cause they have a funny name, while singing bad.

About the only think Anoop has in common with Sanjaya is they are both Indians. Anoop has MUCH more talent and is actually funny, rather than Sanjaya who was just ridiculously annoying. I would love to see Anoop and Sanjaya fight. I would actually pay to see that.
Again, Anoop didn't sing bad. But his performance didn't work because of the song he chose.

LOL @ Anne Murray. I'm not a fan of this show, but I watched last night. They should have limited the Michael Jackson selection to songs he recorded when he was still black.

That's what we did, just watched the show on the DVR, and fast forwarded through all the crappy singers and chunky kelly clarkson's.
I don't understand what the point of doing 'big-giant-famous-artist' night, when they all have to sing songs by him that no one knows... for fear of sounding 'karaoke' ? let's just have 'Steve-Bob-Billy-Band' night!
and I though Anoop sounded great! The only thing I didn't like was his weird ass dancing.

Essentially, ALL songs are karaoke. But I actually saw what they meant with Anoop. He DID sound very good. But that particular song was such a MJ signature that it's almost impossible for anyone to do right. I don't think I've ever seen that song done without it being a Michael Jackson impressionist. Beat It and Thriller are two songs that are untouchable. Billie Jean also can't be done, unless you do that super duper slow version.

Exactly! It's all karaoke, so why even bother saying it! haha. 'how dare you sing something like someone else sings something, even though we told you to'
It's what people on American Idol resort to copying cover versions of songs that other people have done. Don't we all remember that whole 'omg chris daughtry ripped of, whatever-band-it-was' thing from like 3 years ago.

It's a style. It's something that's hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. But you are right about something--sometimes to sound original, the finalists find versions of famous songs that were twisted around by OTHER artists and when they did it, they came off original. David Cook, Daughtry, and Jason Castro all did that.
But they DIDN'T sound karaoke.
Anoop had a good idea with Beat It, but it was impossible for him to execute.

Thats my favorite. The Idol will cover the song in the style of someone else who's already covered the song, and not say ANYTHING about it, until the next day when every blog and half-brained person on the internet is bitching about it. Then on that night's idol, they will reiterate about 27 times who it was that did the first cover.
I think with Daughtry, it was a real case of 'CRAP! We got caught!'

Jason Castro got in trouble for that, though I think he actually DID credit the cover guy when he performed it.

I couldn't stand Jason Castro. Mainly because I like to watch AI stoned, and a stoned person watching another stoned person on television is just too much.

I will give Anoop his props. That was somewhat unexpected. Kudos to him. And we echo your sentiment on Adam, he's horrid. Wretched. Simon put it best, when he said his performance was indulgent. I wish America would realize these things.

THAT was the Anoop that I have been touting. THAT was the anti-Sanjaya. It was a strange night because a lot of the favorites were outsung by people who are supposed to be on the way out.
Adam Lambert was horrific. Simon called it--it was indulgent rubbish.

Adam was just plain CREEPY! I also liked Lil a lot, and that justin timberlakeish guy too - at the end.
My favorite part of the ENTIRE show, was Randy Travis trying to find nice things to say about Adam. Oh man...

Yeah, that was only the second time we caught Anoop, the first time being last weeks disaster. So I stereotyped him as a clown. Lets see if he can follow things up next week. Yo, that one girl with the sleeve of tatoos, what a complete and utter goofball. She has gots to go. That Lambert guy is instant fast-forward material. Oh, and I use the term "guy" loosely.

Yeah, it's hard to screw up a song like Walking After Midnight... but she succeeded. I hope she goes this week, and adam next week. That will provide me with a little bit of scary entertainment, kind of like a puppet show version of Silence of The Lambs.

She did that song half dead. What a shame she has that tatooed arm. She is really hot, and that takes a little away from that.
I think she probably does have to go. I don't think it was a trainwreck, but the only one worse was Adam, and he's not going anywhere. What sucks is I'm sure next week the judges will be loving Adam again.

Michael Sarver will probably go tonight. If they do a bottom three, based on how America votes, I'd go with Sarver, Alexis, & Megan.

Not a bad guess. Sarver could go, but doesn't deserve to.

If you are simply going by last nights performance, and most people do - yes, he does.

If we are basing it solely on last night's performance, Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds were both worse.

Alexis Grace got the boot and desrvedly so. She did not live up to the hype that the judges put on her.
I was a bit surprised that Allison was in the bottom three though.

I didn't watch the results show because of Lost. There's really no reason to sit through an hour when you can flip channels at commercials and eventually get the final elimination in 3 seconds.
If nothing else is on, fine, but the results show is a waste.
Alexis had a bad night, but she wasn't the worst, and it's a shame she leaves so early. I guess the judges sold America on Megan. That said, I still say this is the best top 11 they've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. Nice to see, coming off last season, which was the WORST set of finalists by far.
