Next season coming soon - Jan 6.
I'm late on this show. I only tuned in last season, but I like it a lot.

This is the last season of this show and I am extremely bummed. I put every season on my Netflix cue and burned them all.
RIP Stringer Bell.

I've been watching. Pretty good so far. I like that McNulty is drinking and now he's fucking with the integrity of crime scenes.

Things are starting to heat up. It's gettin' good. Omar is coming back for revenge against Marlow, and I think Marlow is gonna go to war with the rest of the co-op.
Long-shot prediction: Michael (Bug's brother) is going to be the one to off Marlow.

Definitley, I like how there's this parallel with the reporter making quotes up while McNulty is trying to invent a serial killer. Should only get better.

Ohhh yeah yeah, the newspaper angle is good too. Loved the scenes with McNulty floating the red ribbon angle around the office and no one giving a shit.

I'm a little lost on (and it's probably due to only having seen sporadic episodes of seasons 1-3) what info Burrell has that might serve as a skeleton in Daniel's closet.

I'm a little lost on (and it's probably due to only having seen sporadic episodes of seasons 1-3) what info Burrell has that might serve as a skeleton in Daniel's closet.
The info he has is that Danials was cheating on his wife and banging the (nasty looking in my opinion) white prosecutor (she is leading the Grand Jury investigation) that is now his girlfriend. She was part of the team when Danials was leading the special crimes unit doing the wire taps on the Barksdale crew.
I love the drunk McNulty. The early scenes with him and his ex-wife in seasons past were always good. I really want Omar to take out Marlow, but before he does, I want Snoop to get her shit snuffed and stuffed in one of the row houses like her and Chris did people. I fucking hate her so much, but strangely enough, I dig Chris alot. On the face of it, I should even hate Omar because he took out my man, Stringer Bell, but I hold no grudges. It was just bidness, and String fucked up and got set up.
I'm loving how Marlow is bringing the Russian angle back into the picture. Seems like they might want to have all aspects of the show represented in this last season. I even like how they give a shout out to the Barksdale crew, even though it was in jail. It was classic that Marlow was such a dumb shit in that bank down in the islands. For a minute, I thought that Omar and his boyfriend were going to run into him after they heard about the blind man getting snuffed.
I'll reserve judgement, but I have a feeling that when the season finale airs, I'll be thinking that David Chase should take some lessons from these guys on how to produce a television series.

I thought that too...as soon as I saw Omar on the island I thought, "Are you shittin' me? Coincidentally Omar is on the island with Marlow?"

Damnnnnnnn Omar. What the fuck? Are you Batman?
McNulty almost cracked up when that reporter asked, "he made another phone call?" Shit's gonna start poppin.

I don't know....Proposition Joe, for as much as he came off as the old wise crook, was a bit of a little bitch.

That was his style. I wasn't really a Prop Joe fan as he had a lot to do with the Barksdale crew going down.
He was smart, though, to get the commission going along with String. He could have done more earlier on to put Marlow in his place, but he didn't.

I could have done without Omar recreating the final scene of Halloween. That was a bit over the top.

OK so, I think the Gus is on to Templeton fabricating facts for his stories, and has set him up, given him enough rope to hang himself, with that call he asked him to make about an old story.

I think he is trying to hang him out too. He is clued into the inconsistencies and deep down Gus is a good reporter. Most good editors on newspapers are.
The sad thing is that Templeton may be reverting to actual good reporting, and his "real" stuff just might not get believed when his bogus stuff gets discovered.
I am so sad that this show is ending.

It's a REALLY good show. Like I said, I came in to this show about 1 1/2 seasons ago. So I have a lot of catching up to do.
Unknowingly my wife changed my netflix queue, so last night when I was excited to see those little red envelopes sitting on my table....well, you can just imagine my dismay when I opened them to find "BRATZ: The Movie" and "Flyboys." I'm going to burn those today and hopefully have the first two discs of season 1 in hand by the weekend.
I just finished reading a bio on Felicia Pearson. A crack baby, 14-year old drug dealer, ex-convict, working in a car wash....and "Omar" happens to meet her by chance at said car-wash, indulges her life story, and recommends her for the show.
Stephen King has called her the scariest female villain in television history.

She is. I hate her and I hope that Snoop and Chris get taken out.
Back when there were threads on "Baddest Dude" on TV, a lot of the people on the Wire would be in the Top 10. Omar, Snoop, Chris, to name a few.
You really do need to see the first few seasons to really understand how great this show is. I remember after season one, when they started to focus on the waterfront, I thought that they would have a tough time moving from one focus to another (the crack dealing in the projects to the corruption at the waterfront), but the way it is done, showing how everything is connected, is brilliant.
Be prepared for some hardcore Yankee bashing in the first couple of seasons.

Wasn't one of the original story lines something about the cops setting up a sort of "Safe Zone" where they would allow the drug dealers to conduct business free of law enforcement hasslings?

Yea, in Season three they unofficially set up a zone called "Amsterdam" where they could sling all they wanted, with no hassles.
That was when Snoop and Chris started making people disappear in the boarded up houses. The kids in the next season started telling ghost stories about Chris and Snoop making zombies in those houses.
Snoop is a chick. In the first episode she was in, she wore a dress and pulled a drive by on the back of a motorcycle. It's the only episode that she dressed like a chick.

I googled her and even in "real life" she dresses like Kris-Kross.

SPOILER ALERT---SPOILER ALERT---
All I can say is WOW. I wanted Omar to fucking catch up to Snoop and Chris so bad. Oh, well. RIP Omar. You were the baddest motherfucker on TV. Fuck the haters.
I hope Marlow gets smoked by Omar's boyfriend (but I doubt it). Glad the code got cracked. Loved it when McNulty tried to BS the traffic/surveillance detail only to be told, who gave up the fresh phone number for Marlow.
Funny that Templeton's shit is getting really tested right now, and he's ascared of the serial killer.
Only two episodes left for the best series on TV.

WAIT A MINUTE!
Where is this spoiler info coming from. I just watched Sunday's episode and it ended with Omar telling Michael to pass the threat on to Marlow, no code had been cracked....WTF is going on here?
