I prefer Cosi to Panera. Mmmm, Cosi Club. Now that's what I want for lunch.

I am feasting on a cheese burger cooked medium well with the works and fries from the Burger Joint.
FANTASTIC

Burger Joint is great....Big Nick is the man. Try Nikko's, his Greek place a few blocks up from the original Joint.

You're talking about two different Burger Joints, I'm afraid. Also: medium-well? Also: I'm about to go to Joe's Pizza.

I'm talking about the uptown Burger Joint and Burger Joint Too. Both on the UWS.
What other spot is he referring to?

The Burger Joint at the Parker Meridian Hotel. (I am assuming.) Which is, IMO, much better than Nick's.

Ahhhh...the (not so) secret, no-name spot in the lobby. Stayed at the Parker for a few days after my wedding. Yes, yes, much better than Nick's...different style though. Great fries, and shakes. Copped a tag on the wall a few years ago

Does every Greek run greasy spoon have to have some adjective in the name describing the proprietor's personality?
In California we have: The Mad Greek, The Happy Greek, The Lucky Greek, The Crazy Greek....oh and in Corona, CA there's a Carlos The Greek. What Greek is named Carlos?

Our place, that we go to, is Zorba the Greek.
Hey, now that's a good idea. I think I know what to "make" Al for dinner tonight.

The two slices of fresh mozzerella pizza were followed by one (1) vanilla cream puff from Beard Papa's.

Cosi is the other chain I was thinking of & I do prefer them to Pret a (Sorry Domi, but I'm not searching the character map for the accents)... I miss lunch in the city. For those who are midtown east... Burger Heaven rules. Not healthy, but good greasy spoon stuff. Chrissy, is Zorba the Greek any good? There is one right by me, but I have not tried it...

I'm pretty sure the official company name excludes the accents from prêt à manger, but I don't like it.

Do you guys still have Friendly's out there? My aunt worked there when I was a kid.

Yup. There's a bunch near here, although I have not been to one since I move out of NJ.

I worked at Friendly's all through high school and college. My best friends are all people I met while working there. But, did you know that they only added the 's towards the end of my tenure, about 1994? It was originally "Friendly Restaurants". they only officially added the 's because everyone called it that.
Laura, The Zorba by us, in Plainview, is pretty good, I haven't had anything other than the Greek Salad, though. I think Al had spanikopita that he liked.
I just ordered chicken salad in a pita from Sherwoods Fine Foods on Lex. They make excellent chicken salad, if anybody is interested.

Iced coffee I made in attempt to assuage a most evil headache... it is a premium blend comprised of several different types of coffee that I didn't have enough of to make a full pot...

Grilled Chicken and Broccoli Panini-Pizza -- Tomatoes, roasted peppers and Cheddar.
At least, that's how it was advertised. But, it has no resemblance of a pizza at all. Just a panini.

Currently i am eating NOTHING. I am on this silly diet called the Master Cleanse where you drink this whacky lemonade all day. I lost 4 lbs in the first day. If i stick this thing out i'll lose my goal amt. of weight in about 10 days. Woohoo.

I almost tried that, but I'm afraid. A girl from my office does it every once in a while. Do you drink the salt water?
