Larry's consistency is continuing though the top 3 in the overalls are starting it up at the top of the new session. Larry is threatening to get out of the cellar and has a realistic shot of doing so in the next 2 weeks.

We had a very rare night last night. John had a negative night as a team with a -2 for his efforts. And while that is certainly the fantasy equivalent of the golden sombero, what made the night rare was that it was not the worst night in the league. Suzy topped it, with a -8.
Larry's team is putting up consistent points now, and we have a nice race at the bottom of the standings. The bottom 4 teams are now within 100 points of each other.
At the top of the standings, Knoblauch has taken an early lead in the session, and mirroring the bottom, the top 4 teams are within 100 points of each other.
Hopefully things will continue and we will have some good races this year.

We have a new leader in the overall standings, and as hard as it is to believe, it's KNOBLAUCH of all people. The person setting the pace is KNOBLAUCH.
Sherry must be giving him good advice.

Knoblauch's reign at the top continues, but check out Pops slipping to third on the heels of a great night by Neil. Justin joins the ranks of those in this session who have had a negative night, but we have a HELL of a race this year. Preseason favorite Tom has done nothing short of fizzle. His team simply is not performing up to par. It's like a $200 million payroll team still playing .500 ball in the middle of June, not like that would ever happen in real life.
The top 5 teams in the overalls are now within 100 points.
And Larry is just 50 points away from climbing out of the cellar. Strap on your seatbelts. This is going to be a hell of a ride.
Knoblauch--237.67 Neil--218 Evan--207.33 John--165.33 Tom--160.67 Jose--159.33 Pops--159.33 Capone--149 Milton--117.67 Larry--106.67 Justin--99.67 Suzy--88.33

Funny you pick today to say that, with me having a nice session with some strong pitching performances.
Again, I am fine now, with the ultra-hot Lackey back (he missed a month and a half) and a healthy Beckett as well. On the hitting side, Jimmy Rollins is back.
I lost a lot of points with those guys in various stages of out. I'll be alright.

Rollins killed you. No argument that all those injuries hurt you. I guess the big reason for the preseason projection, aside injury, is that pitching is so hard to project. Wins are a vital part of pitching points. They are also not something within the control of the pitcher since you need offense. Hitting tends to be more consistent from year to year.

We all lose players it's the name of the Game. I've lost Chone Figgins who was among the leaders in the all important Stolen bases category & I've lost John Smoltz for the year. WA !!!

Guys stop trying to figure out who is in first, second or third.... it doesn't really matter.... I AM GOING TO WIN THIS LEAGUE FOR THE SECOND TIME and it doesn't matter if Justin doesn't like it.... I'm just waiting on mr Prince "veggie" Fielder to get going and for Mr Harang to win a couple games once in a while , maybe cashman could trade for him....

In the overalls, Pops is back on top and Justin is back in last as the session is extremely tight. The top 4 teams are less than 12 points apart. The top 3 teams are 5 points apart.

There is now a chance we could see some history in this session, as John is in the lead. As we all know, John has never won a session. Could this be the first? I doubt it.

Way to use a waver pick on Max Scherzer Tom. How many points did he put up for your team any way ? My team may suck but its your team Blowing that's keeping the Wolfetones in first.

I didnt waste a waiver pick. I got him at 8, I am currently 10 again.
Check his stats, he was throwing awesome. Not my fault Doug Davis beat cancer and is pitching again. If we had a keeper league, I would do the Scherzer move all day long. You should know better, Pops. You of all people, unable to recognize a talent.

Well if Tom gets relegated this year & Laura takes his place next year is that a kind of nepotism ? I need a Big Bat in my outfield , Damn it why did I take Fields rather then Dye ? My Worst move of the draft.

Wow, Pops, you really are obsessed with me. For one thing, I have not been in last place even one day all year. So enough already with the relegation talk, especially now that my team is pretty much healthy. Care to take a shot at the 3 headed monster of Suzy, Larry, and Justin, who have lived in the basement all year? Or do you not want to ruffle any feathers, you coward.
And why not worry about Jose. You know, the guy who passed you for first. But if you simply pay attention to the fact that you spend 90% of your free time talking about ME and MY TEAM, do you even realize it?

Tom You are the flame to the bleachers Molatovcoktal (sp) I kid because I love. That 3 headed monster you speek of has 4 Championships to its credit . I'll go with their track record over yours. But talk about D.L. time look at Justin & 7 players on the D.L. that's a bit hard to over come , Even 4 Justin. I have been going back & forth with Jose working on treads , but nothing yet.

Justin has 7 players on his DL cause he lets them rot there. I release guys that have no end of DL in sight. I have had as much DL time as anyone this year, and I will remind you I lost Beckett, Lackey, and Rollins for significant parts of this season. And, AGAIN, you guys can poop on my "track record" all you want, but in the last 3 years I have a 2nd and a 3rd to my credit. I have done as much as anyone who has not yet won the league recently.
The fact that the first and second place teams are talking to each other about trades is asinine.

Wrong, as usual.
I had like 5 of those guys go on the DL this week.
Before that, I had others go on the DL.
But I had a bad start, and others didn't. I won't recover from it, unless the rest of the teams at the top collapse like yours did.

And yet another person wades in simply to address me!
This league is funny - there are only two members in it - me, and everyone else. Of all the talk in this league, 95% of it is about me, and my team. Its like you people forget there are 10 other teams in the league, most of (if not all) - in front of yours.
Keep sweating me, folks!

Well, this league may be quieter than I'd like, but the competition has never been this fierce as far as I remember. We've got a major fight brewing at the top of the overalls as Pops and Jose are going back and forth, and Knoblauch and Neil are right on their tails.
John is now in a very good position to win his first session. It's hardly clinched, but he has a nice lead with time running out.
Even at the bottom of the overalls, there is a race to watch as this league could have its first former winner relegated.
It's tight.
John--502 Jose--459.67 Knoblauch--452.67 Pops--445.67 Neil--426 Evan--426 Capone--391.33 Tom--363 Larry--349 Milton--329.33 Suzy--292.67 Justin--271

Tom just for the record in one of my previous comments I didn't make any references about you or your team, thhe only reference I made was about Justin. Now can somebody please tell Cashman (who should have been fired by the way) to check his voicemail.... rumor has it that the GM of the Back in Black 2 has left him a message regarding a Harang trade to the Yanks..... pull the trigger Cashman, do it you bum...

Wasnt really meant for you, Jose. While I think the idea of you talking trades with the guy you are fighting for the lead is ridiculous, you have kept me out of your sights for now. I was addressing Milton, Pops, Larry, and Justin, all who forgot there are other people in the league besides me and them.

It probably has to do with you talking so much shit while your team is so bad. I addressed you, because you addressed me and I happened to read it. I look in here maybe twice a month. Your name came up with mine.

Final session update before the winner is announced, and it's looking very good for John. We're almost at the point where if he loses, it would be a choke.

JOHN WINS!!!! JOHN WINS!!!! JOHN WINS!!!!
It took 4 years, including a 2 year hiatus for sucking, but John has finally won his first session.
31 straight sessions without winning to start a career--a current record that has finally ended.
Congratulations to John, and that leaves Kwik and Steve as the only 2 people in history to never win as much as a single session.
