[BTW, if any of you know of any PT or per diem Social Work jobs in the city or on Long Island, I am in the market for supplemental income... particularly in the areas of crisis, psychiatric social work/mental health, public health, healthcare or hospital work.]

Coordinator, Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) - Major League Baseball (New York, NY)
MAJOR PURPOSE:
Assist in planning, promotion and coordination of RBI program and Community Affairs programs/events tournaments and competitions
Seminars, conferences, special events, etc.
On-field programs
Miscellaneous Community Affairs programs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate grant process and reporting for national and local RBI
Interface with public relations and MLB.com to coordinate and maximize event coverage
Interface with MLB.com to maintain and update RBI portal and RBI content on MLB.com
Provide information for press releases and other news or feature items
Maintain and update RBI Administrative Handbook
Respond to requests for information
Compile statistical reports
Develop participant database
Update RBI/Community Affairs web page
Evaluate effectiveness of outreach and RBI programs, and recommend changes
Develop and/or assist with written materials including the following: Newsletters, Brochures, Press compilation
Insure that RBI leagues are in compliance with the following:
Procedures
Tournament deadlines
Insurance guidelines
Legal requirements
MISCELLANEOUS:
Perform research as needed
Represent department on speaking engagements
Perform administrative and other duties as needed
Manage translation of documents when necessary
Attend meetings and conferences as assigned and report back on same
Maintain relationships with program partners, external agencies and organizations
Attend community/charity dinners and functions (outside normal business hours)
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in marketing, communications, sports management, business
1-4 years experience in community affairs, marketing or advertising, communications or journalism
1-4 years in planning and managing community programs
Verbal and written communication skills
Internet, organizational, management and event planning skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Some travel and extended hours (e.g., All-Star Game, World Series)
Some physical work required
