Here's wishing everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
even if it's just your inner Cannuck celebrating today.

Ill echo the sentiment to whoever would like to hear it.
Columbus Day over here. I am one of the very few who are working today, apparently.

I've never had Columbus Day off in the 18 years since graduating college.

In recent years more and more people drop off. I took it off last year to go to the Islanders afternoon game, and literally ran into 4 other people from my job doing the same thing. None of us realized any of the others were doing it, and we all went on our own.
The train into the city was barren. The street outside the office is peppered with a scarcity of folks. This is the kind of day, while not offered as a day off, is something that people have learned to take upon themselves.
For Christs sake, a giant parade is going on uptown. Why come to work?
