well, the cap nip is like a tenth of the cost of weed, so the stash stays with daddy :-)
we have 2 cats, and sometimes they fight after i give them a pinch, but most of the time they just roll around in it. supposedly, it aids in their digestion as well

So our cat is like a dog. He plays fetch, he follows us around like a mopey mutt. He is not independant in the least, he is quite clingy. He has to be where everyone is. He is uber-curious, hanging around the shower and even perched on the sink as you shave or brush. Even now I walked downstairs with him on my heels the whole time.
The fetch thing is what really gets me. Dana had him playing fetch all morning with his "mousie"
He also begs for food. Whatever you are eating, he pokes around and wants a nibble or a grab.
His climbing the curtains act is getting old. This morning he was climbing the shower curtain.

He also needs to stop joining everyone in the shower.

I have seen this before.
I have a cat who is a few years old now, but when she was a kitten she played fetch exclusively with plastic water bottle caps.
She would play it incessently...for as long as we'd entertain it.
She no longer has any interest in this.

My idiots always knock the sponge balls underneath furniture. Every time I move something, I find half of PetSmart.

I just gave Vicky a bath in the sink... I am trying to catch Ashley, too, but she seems to want no part of this (shockingly)...

You can give cats a bath?
That sounds like a scary endeavor to me.

It cuts down on hairballs & cat hair everywhere in your abode... some cats are more cooperative than others. My coworker gives her cat a bath at least weekly because that kitty has a tendancy to roll around in her litter box.

Owen does not need to be given a bath. He willingly comes in the shower with me all the time.

You can give cats a bath? I will give Spanky one if she's funky or if she got caught up in some nasty shit. I just wash & rinse with her, no repeat.

Awesome! How are the two cats getting along? Mine gave me the stink eye for six weeks when my old roommate brought her cat home.

Owen is a jealous boy. Storm couldn't care less. Owen will hiss and growl at him and Storm just turns his back. Storm seems to be already using his litter box and he eats a lot. Yes, I know his bowl is girly but we didn't know if it was a boy or a girl before he was delivered here today. And I liked the little saying on it. It says "There is nothing ordinary about the cat."
Tom's sister Jen took one of Storm's brothers. His name is Neo and he looks a lot like Storm only he has white on his neck, belly, and white feet.
It is hard to tell from the pic but Storm is gray on top and black underneath with black legs and feet, black ears, and black at the end of his tail.

My cats swear by Cosmic Kitty. Laura, what is that litter box called? the one with the stairs?? I must have that. I can't stand all the damn litter on the floor. It drives me crazy! Oh and the Trader Joe's cat treats are a favorite as well. I stopped giving them Kitty Crack (Pounce) and give them the Trader Joe's stuff instead. It's a lot healthier.

Owen is a jealous boy. Storm couldn't care less. Owen will hiss and growl at him and Storm just turns his back. Storm and Owen are both kittens so they will learn to get along with each other and start playing together. My brother recently got another cat because he thought his cat was lonely. It took about a week for them to accept each other.

Ok, so some people are on our case about making a potential tactical mistake today. Thoughts?
Storm is already using his little litterbox. Originally we were going to "quarentine him" in a bathroom with it, and his food and water, while we were at work. But again, he's using it already. Owen also never had an accident, so we are cool with the idea he picked it up.
HOWEVER, Owen has been giving him the glower, a bit of a hiss here and there, even a silly growl. He has not approached him, or bullied him.... but we have been around. Storm is pretty much just ignoring Owen.
Question....is Storm in any danger today. Owen does not appear to be a predator, but one of Dana's coworkers is acting like he may eat the other one.
Anyone? Should Dana go home during lunch and lock Storm up?

They will probably avoid each other and may cross paths when it's time to eat or tinkle. Owen was "King Kitty" for the past few months and as far as he's concerned, Storm is an unwelcome houseguest. Storm is getting used to his new quarters.

As a one-time TWO INDOOR CAT owner, I can't stress this enough.
Be diligent on litter box cleaning. I've had two cats of my own at one time, and when I was a kid my mother had two indoor cats in the house...both times I experienced the same thing. One cat takes the alpha role, and the other cat will, from time to time piss OUTSIDE of the litter box if the box is too full of the other cat's "scent" I guess.
In order to keep both cats using the box consistently, to avoid "spraying" outside of the box, I was up to a point where I was cleaning litter three and four times a day....a HUGE hassle.
Eventually, both indoor cats became OUTDOOR cats for this very reason.
Best of luck to you, Tom and Dana, in this regard.

I clean them every day. And we have three right now. One by the downstairs bathroom, one in the upstairs bathroom and a little training on for Storm by the door.

Question for the cat folks. Storm, aka "Pork" - is getting snipped today. Hes been at the vet, for an evening pickup. One thing the vet told me is to empty the litterbox, and replace with "shredded newspaper." So no litter gets "in there." He admitted chances of this are miniscule.
Heres the thing, Im anti the shredded paper idea, on the surface, especially with TWO cats. Not only may they not take to it, it seems to be a collosal mess to me.
Anyone? I was thinking of living on the edge, and keeping him the comfort of his litterbox. He's been through enough. Or should I start having Emma ripping up old newspapers, and do this for the next "7-10 days?"
