Happy New Year everyone. Tone, nice to hear from you. All the happiness in the world to you and yours in 2009.
Lets make it a good one. Im sipping some Hefeweizen right now, watching some grappling on the tube. Home with my girls, and now my kitten. What a pretty picture!
Cheers, everyone! Enjoy. I raise the glass.

Anyone care to share their plans? I'm going out with the wife and another couple to a nice restaurant who are having a New Years countdown. The Orange Hill restaurant - nice place, cigar friendly: View of central O.C. from the Orange Hill balcony: Balcony Fire pits:

Our plans are simple. Staying in. Got some drinks, some snacks, going to laugh at the rubes hanging around the ball on TV. Doing some channel flipping, relaxing inside as the ice forms outside. As of now, and this is not set in stone - Emma is going to be allowed to stay up. If she plays the pain in the ass game, she's gone. But she's excited for now to stay up.
I enjoy these New Years at home. I did a lot of time out there, but love these nights with my family the best.
Cho, that place looks rockin'. Make the most of it, my friend.
Hey, everyone going out - enjoy, and be safe!

Tom, has Emma caught the Jonas Brothers bug yet? If so, she'll be pleased with that Dick Clark deal tonight.

She developed more of an affinity for them once they appeared on Hannah Montana. Speaking of which, Miley Cyrus has some gig on MTV tonight. That will not be appearing on our tube this eve, but I am taping it, for later viewing on Emmas part. Whats cool with the remote, and pic in pic like we have, is I can keep action going. I can find stuff we find interesting (Taylor Swift) and turn away from the stuff that we dont (T.L)

I'm guessing it's because of geography, Tom. Grover is more likely and accessible for making Balls eat a knuckle sandwich.
Some people get off on being internet tough guys, Balls gets off on being an internet ball-buster.
Happy New Year, Balls!

Orange Hill looks AWESOME. I'm jealous. The girlfriend and I are staying in and having a good home-cooked meal, along with my old roommate and her husband. The days of $80 covers to stand in hot, crowded bars have long ended. Happy 2009, all!

Orange Hill just called the other couple we're going with and asked us to "FAX over your payment." FAX payment?

She HAS caught the Jonas Brothers bug and it is ALL MY FAULT! I accidentally bought my niece Erin an extra Christmas present (the soundtrack to Camp Rock) and so I decided to stick it in Emma's stocking. She has been listening to it nonstop since Sunday and today she used a gift certificate from my sister to purchase the dvd. Emma, Owen and I just watched it. I think she has a litlle bit of a crush on Joe Jonas but is embarrased to admit it.

I had plans to hit a party in the City which would've given us a view of Times Square. The weather is keeping us home and quite frankly, I don't know if I will be able to stay up to watch the ball drop.

You made the right call, I can not emphasize that enough.
Ah, today is a day of respite. I am off next week so I ordered no cleaning out of the realm of necessity, as I will dolly up this place while I am free the shackles of the workplace. Today I am going to watch the NHL Winter Classic, perhaps with some pigskin action on the pic in pic. While last night I drank beers, today I shall sip Bushmills.
Tonight should be some sorta game night with the girls. You guys enjoy your New Years Day, ya hear!

we had a nice party last night at the neighbors, it was brisk, but not cold enough to drive us inside. Today is a day of rest, and cards tonight.

Haven't seen Ernie Banks at all, but Billy Williams was there (and called Fergie Jenkins by mistake)

Orange Hill restaurant was great last night. Outstanding food, including unlimited lobster tail.
Lot of dancing with the wife...and I don't dance. Whatever is worse than two left feet - that's me. But I bit the bullet and had a good time.
Smoked another ACID cigar and overall a great evening with friends and the wife.
Gonna head up the hill to Mt. High tonight, do a little snowboarding tomorrow.
Have a great New Year's day everyone.

I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and prosperous 2009.
And of course that our Yanks are able to "buy" another championship. Someone tell Cashman that Manny still out there and that he could get us a lot closer to the promised land.
