Yeah, the World Baseball Classic. The thing that gets Balls so angry.
Well, Bernie Williams is at it again. Not only is he stoked to play for Puerto Rico on that stage, at 40 he is looking to parlay it into a major league stint. LOL! Good luck with that. I guess its easy for him to have that hankering, after seeing the mess Melky and Gardner made out of CF for the Yankees last year.
That said, Im glad he's been retired. He should stay that way, in all due respect.
Actually, he has to fight for a spot on Puerto Rico's roster, for starters. Here's Bernie...
"To be really honest, if I play [for Puerto Rico] and I start getting those feelings back again, start getting the urge and feel good physically, it can open a whole world of possibilities for me," Williams told the New York Daily News.
"But right now, I'm just speculating on what could happen. It's not going to be until I play in that competition whether I'm going to be able to make those kind of decisions."

By the way, the story on ESPN.com (I think it may have been from AP) about Jeter and Pedroia playing together was so stupid. Obviously, the Yankees and Boston are rivals (duh), but there's no history between those two guys. The moron who wrote it made it seem like Munson and Fisk were going to stand on the pitcher's mound and sing Kumbaya.

One of my favorite things about the Football Giants is the players pure hatred for the Cowboys. It is the complete opposite with the Yankees. You always see them laughing it up with the Sox in BP or at All-Star Games and there's no rivalry between them at all. It's only between the fans. The Jeter-Pedroia is as non as a non-story can be.
