I can confirm that the league WILL continue. With the exception of Milton, who finished last (but would have been kicked out no matter where he finished) I believe everyone is invited back. I will start talking to people on the fence on a one on one basis. But enough of that for now.
Draft date will be announced sometime next week. It will be in March. Its going to be a unilateral date, which you can either make or cant . It cant be put up for a vote or even a discussion, cause everyone has some sorts of conflicts and preferences. Its always been on a Saturday, so I am still pushing for a Saturday.
Email me with any questions.
We may also be looking for a new commissioner, as at this point negotiations with Metssuckballs are not going well, he just does not want to do what I am looking for in a commish.

The weekend of March 7th / 8th is set for the draft, so set it in stone. If we host it on Saturday, it will around 2PM, a bit of a later start. The other option is Sunday, a bit earlier, around the noon hour. Lets canvas the league and see which works better for you guys / girls.
Feel free to confirm you can make either of these two dates, so we can start locking people up, and bringing new people on board if need be.

Folks, start confirming, an email has been sent to the league.

Ok, just about everyone has confirmed a yes, and I personally have been in contact with every single member up for return. We may very well lose at least one person, and because of scheduling possibly another. Replacement candidates are lined up. Bottom line, we are looking at a strong turnout for the draft, and it seems a level of commitment is sparked back up.
Balls will be returning as commissioner, as soon as some t's are crossed and some i's are dotted. I will be taking on a heavier role in regards to communication, and beating down the doors of people behind on payments.
I look forward to kicking all this back up.

Hopefully the members of the league are a little less boring this year. The whole draft then 6 months of silence was lame.

Clearly the league was missing a good pot-stirrer last year...

That's what I said... well, not sleeping in, but at least not having to get up 3 hours early AND skip going to the gym. I really need to make myself get up early enough to take the train and walk down from Penn to ease the guilt.

Cut the shit about the start time already. We have people coming in from WAY out of town who need to be at work Monday morning.
I also need to be at work Monday morning, and I will get up earlier on Sunday to get home earlier that evening.
Draft starts at noon, and this year moreso than ever, if you are not there when we start, we start without you.

Stupid, cantankerous day-shift workers If your job was cool, like mine, you'd be used to rolling out of bed around 11:30 am & heading to the gym for 2 hours before work. In any case, on a not-cool job note, it looks like I will not be able to access the Yahoo fantasy site from work. (Stupid OMH Access Denied page.) Does anyone have any experience with accessing the site via cell phone?

Wont you be online at home at least once a day? We're a weekly transaction league, I am not sure how this will become too crazy an issue.
Well, us "day-shift workers" are also home enjoying our nights, while you "night-shift workers" are missing live ballgames, good television programming, and time out with the majority of others we know, cause we all work days.

What was the reason for the noon start time again? Is it just because people work Mondays and we don't want to get home after the dinner hour? I'm used to getting up at 5:45am, so even a noon start is sleeping in for me. But I'm curious.

I think it was an arbitrary decision made by TJ, because this is his league... (i.e. "The draft will start at noon, because I said so.")

There are a few reasons, including the arbitrary decision part of it.
Balls, stop playing the fool. I already told you that just about everyone in the league is working the next morning, and some of those people are coming from pretty damn far out of town. Regardless, none of us want to make it an evening in the city.
Draft has been known to drag on for 5 hours or more. A noon start should see most of us on the way home by 6PM. I absolutely will not consider a later start than noon. If anyone is having problems with this, take it offline, and quite frankly - feel free to give up your spot.

If some members where as prepared as others when it comes time to draft their players. there's no reason for it to take 2 or 3 minutes to make your pick. KNOW & GO !!! I say Start the draft @ 1 !!!

Pops, give up. There will be no rule changes and no draft time changes!
"...Regardless, none of us want to make it an evening in the city." Speak for yourself!!! Some of us would LOVE to make it an evening in the city & I sure as hell HOPE that everyone else will not be beating it home at 5-6pm. I, for one, don't get out too often these days. Whilst I am not suggesting that anyone might want to stay out until 4am, I see no real reason for a hasty retreat fromn the city prior to the departure of the last express train.

Have fun most likely hanging out by yourself.
I'll be on the way out the door 5 minutes after the final pick will be made, for one. Oh, and thanks for reminding me - there will be NO rule changes.

No.
12:07 start will be considered. Depending on how early the bar opens. Id rather start at noon straight-up.

I work nights, and I fucking hate it.
I don't go to the gym before work, but we just got Wii Fit a while back, so I'm going to start using that.

Do you work real 3rd shift nights or evenings? I love my job, but I do not love the hours... just trying to make the best of them until it changes (knocking wood...) I'm not sure how I'd feel about working that midnight to 8am shift, but I think it might actually be significantly better than evenings... basically you could sleep when everyone else is at work and work when everyone else is asleep.

Midnight - 8 a.m. is terrible. I did it for three years and it was horrible.
You're always tired, because if you think you're gonna get a full 8 hours of sleep during the daytime, it's not going to happen. Besides the sun, people will still call you for things because they're away and couldn't care less about you sleeping.
Then doctor appointments and such cut right in the middle of your sleep schedule.
And if you like New Year's, don't even bother enjoying it anymore. Ass.
