Am I wrong to think that, despite the MVPs and the Silver Sluggers, that Pujols is actually underrated?
The guy just does not get as much nationwide attention as A-Rod, Jeter, Manny Ramirez, Big Papi, etc...
A .334 lifetime avg, never less than 30 HRs, never less than a .400 OBP, only once with a sub .600 slugging pct, 1500 hits in 8 years....the numbers are mind boggling.
Albert Pujols is the best player in baseball, not A-Rod (steroids or not).
Oh wait, I forgot....NL....nevermind....he sucks.

One great player does not equalize the leagues.

Funny you mention this guy, Cho, as rumors of his own steroid use have been whispered for a while. Its just no one has any proof, but surely reason to speculate. When I saw the title of this thread, I expected breaking news that he failed a test.
Sorry if I am jaded, but I cant trust Pujols' numbers right now. He's another guy who came out of nowhere, and blossomed well beyond anything anyone ever expected. His body also changed a heap.

He's good because he's Dominican.

He IS a beast. He's a got a Bonds-like body.
But, as I qualified, steroids aside....he, not A-Rod, is the best player in baseball.
Those offensive numbers are just ridiculous.
I will say the one thing he has going for him, which may deflect the steroids talk a bit, is that there's been now drastic increase in his performance while in the majors. He came out of the gate with the same output as right now.

"One great player does not equalize the leagues."
No, but I fully expected you to say something ridiculous like he'd be a .280 hitter in the AL East.
