I always love hearing everyone's pre-season World Series predictions. Just for giggles. Hell, last season I picked Cleveland v. Atlanta in a 1995 rematch. It would have ended nicely if every player on either of those teams hadn't died. At least Joe Buck and I had the same prediction... Maybe that was the problem? Maybe I'm a jinx? Either way!
Throw out your preseason predictions so we can all laugh at you when the season's over and you have failed miserably.
My prediction:
Red Sox v. Giants.

I hope the Red Sox are all on a boat that sinks and they don't have life jackets. As for the Giants, they were 72-90 last year. Hard to go from that to a World Champion.
I don't know if you're a jinx or not, but with that prediction, I hope you are.

The Giants of this season are NOT the giants of last season, by a long shot. Minus the solid additions they've already made. If they can get past the Dodgers and whoever ends up taking the East...

That's a big if. The Dodgers were much better with Manny, who I hope gets hit by a truck. But the Cubs, Mets, and Phillies also aren't going away in that league.

I just had a couple-day long email conversation with an ardent Giants fan, and we both pretty much agreed that the Giants currently amount to a 3rd place NL West team....far behind the Dodgers for offensive reasons, and far behind the D-Backs for pitching reasons.
Not sure I'm on board with the Giants in the WS considering that I'm not sure they're a .500 baseball team.
As for my AL pick....MF'in Yankees YO!
Seriously, I know we're Yankee fans, I know we all have the proverbial Yankee blinders on....but really...can you give me a sound reason why it's not, at the very least ARGUABLE, to say that the Yankees are the best team in the AL. Best I can see, the Red Sox and Rays are the only AL teams who might best the Yanks...and again, it's a reasonable discussion to debate who the better team of the three really is.
I still think the Sox have a slightly better or equal pitching staff, and I am convinced that without Joba in the pen, Boston's pen is heads and tails above ours.

I'm going Indians and Phils.
I think Philly repeats as NL champs, yeah they lost Burrell and that hurts, but I think they can more than make up for it. I guess it relies more on if they're pitching can hold up and pitch well, but I still think they're the team to beat in the NL. Oh yeah, there's that guy Howard too.
The Indians for obvious reasons, the staff can be scary good at times, Carmona is a beast. And the offense is very good. One of the best hitting catchers in the league and a possible MVP winner in Sizemore.
My picks are sort of safe bets, but I do find it funny I picked two teams who's cleanup guy barely hit .300 last year.
