My # 3 pick Catcher Joe Mauer He seems to have something going on with his lower back on the right side. He may start the year on the D.L. ( this seems to be a reoccurring them with my team ) Good thing I have 2 good back up's @ Catcher seen a run & I grabbed A.J. Pierzynski. Who is better then a lot of other teams starters. I also picked up Dioner Navarro late who was to good to pass up. 1B I welcome Lance Berkman back he put up big numbers for the Wolftones last year and I'm happy to have him back this year. Ball's can you look in to why Berkman's Yahoo page has him listed as First Base/Right Field but with us he only is eligible @ 1B ? Second Base I have another of last years Wolftones back. Alexei Ramírez. He had a very productive season for us last year. Looking for even bigger things from Alexei this year with the 30 more game's he'll play this year then last year. Knowing he will be starting @ second & not having to worry about where or if he is starting his speed & power #'s will be even better. one of the top 4 2b's out there. 3B will be held down by Aubrey Huff. He always put's up big #'s & playing in Candam yards his power #'s can only go up. he'll be hitting 3 or 4 so lot's of R.B.I.'s for the tacking. SS with the # 4 pick the Wolftones pick José Reyes. This is one of those picks that are made for you. how can you pass on Reyes ? I hope he stay's healthy !!! LF Pat Burrell. This was a late pick as Left Field is a deep spot. Pat puts up close to 30 HR's & 100 RBI every year & he'll have all those kids to knock in Down in Tampa this year. Looking for better then last years 250 Avg. + better power #'s. Center Field was my second pick Carlos Beltrán. it was looking like I was going to have a CITI team after the first to rounds. CF is a thin spot after the first 3 or 4 players & Beltrán is # 2. so I had to take him there. RF always a deep spot I went with another of last years Wolftones Magglio Ordóñez.He Did not have as good a year as was expected looking for him to bounce back this year & be in the top 5 for the MVP voting when all the ink is dry. For my D.H. I'm going with the Xman,Xavier Nady who seems to come up with big hit's late in games. unlike AROD. not bad for a late pick. When Tom was changling me to find a better pick then his pick up of Aaron Hill who 4% of player's have starting @ 2b. Other then my 2 back up Catchers I only have Third Base man Troy Glaus on my bench who will start the year on the D.L. He puts up big # when healthy & 3B is a tuff waver find & I'll get a D.L. pick up in the mean time.
NOW to the pitching staff.
Was Looking for Ervin Santana to lead the staff but with these early drafts you get these slow starters. So Santana will also be on the D.L. to start the year. That borings us to another of last years Wolfetones Carlos Zambrano who had a big year for us. so big that he was part of a end of the year block buster trade with "Just Too Easy"giving Mike the title & helping me to just miss the $ by 40 pt's. Hoping to keep him the full year this campaign. With John Smoltz starting the year on the D.L. till June when he'll come back 100% !!! I may have jumped the gun on him. 5 rounds to soon. but he was so good for the Wolftones before he went down. I wanted him back & I'll get a D.L. pick up with him. Derek Lowe looks to be an Ace for the Braves & the Wolftones looking for 200 + ing's 150 K's & 17 win's from Mr. Lowe. All well with in reach. I grabbed Mike Pelfrey as there was a log jam in front of my pick & I was able to Jump over 2 players in front of me to snipe Pelfrey who really came on last year. Let's hope he build's on last year's # say 17-18 wins 200+ ing's & 150 k's My sleeper pick is Aaron Cook how was he not picked up before I got him in such a late round ? I know a Rockies starter but he was 16 & 9 with an under 4 era with over 200 ing's. I have Jair Jurrjens , Shaun Marcum & yes THAT Carl Pavano to mix & match in & out depending on who's hot & who's not. To close things out I went with Bobby Jenks & Brian Fuentes 30 Saves & ERA's under 3. with picks of Brad Ziegler who is looking to be the closer for the A's & Fernando Rodney who has a better shot @ closer for the Tigers then Brandon Lyon who sucked for the Wolftones last year.
With all things considered I am happy with the 2009 Wolftones. Looking to win lots of weeks & $ once we get everyone healthy. Good luck to all hope all are teams have good & helthey years. Now pay ball's so he can pay me. thanks : )

Pops--Berkman is only listed as a 1B because he didn't play a single game at RF in 2008. If you drafted him to be your RF, you fucked up.

I like to have the flexibility to move players around if someone goes down. (I said goes down) Berkman was drafted with 1B in mind. (as that's all he is listed as) But if he had the RF next to his name it wouldn't hurt ? Thanks for looking in to it. OMG all I can think of is M.S.B. doing the Y.M.C.A. dance with that helmet on in that pic. LOL !!!

By the way, just to let you know the caliber of this league vs. others, I did an online draft Monday night and had the same draft slot -- No. 12 out of 12. In our league, I took Kinsler and Linceum. In this other league, Santana and Tex were still available, and two or three of the first-round picks were jokes.
