I've been at Spring Training so I've missed the last handful of games, but I like the WBC. I only wish it didn't drag out so long. It should be single elim. get things moving a bit.

I think it should be in November when the players are in shape.

by the time november comes around, players are so broken and tired... that no one would want to do that. at least in March people are getting the pre-season fever and want to get out there in the sun and do something (not applicable to manny)

There is no way in hell Pay-Wad comes through in the bottom of the ninth the way Wright did last night.

I couldn't care less who plays in November. But doing this during spring training when the players aren't in the same shape is equally stupid. Not to mention, there's an increased risk of an injury that will affect the real games.

The bottom line is, in regards to Americans versus the rest of the world, these sports exhibitions pitting national teams against one another will NEVER EVER be as important to us as our domestic professional leagues are.
It's kinda like "football" in the English Premiere League, right - "CLUB BEFORE COUNTRY"

Jeter was doing his best to return to Yankees camp by displaying the range of a recliner.

Balls said, "I couldn't care less who plays in November."
Why do people always say "I COULD care less?" It's wrong...it's not the message they're trying to convey.

I was glad USA won, but I was kinda pissed that David Wright was rewarded for a shitty hack at an even shittier pitch.
There might have even been 3 balls in the count.
I never like when poor fundamental skills actually pay off...that's why Ichiro pisses me off....why the hell should a guy with such an unorthodox swing, who practically runs out of the batters box during his swing, be rewarded with such a high batting average.

He took a weak hack....almost a check swing....nothing intentional about that hit.
Oh, you're talking about Ichiro. Didn't we drop a bomb on that country a few years ago? What was in those bombs....fertlizer?

LOL @ the fact that no one is going to these games. In fact, many spring games in Arizona are drawing higher crowds. Also seen more than one US player sorta complain that even when they are on "home turf" they are the road team, as the fans of the other Nation teams are much more vocal and into the games.

It's exhibition baseball, no matter how badly Selig wants it to be more. No one cares.

Eh, the players there do.
To THEM, its not an "exhibition." Jeter himself would laugh in your face in regards to your take on the meaning of these games.
I myself could give a filp about these games, but you are talking about them like you know what you are talking about. The players are treating this as MUCH MORE than an exhibition game, which makes Jeters shoddy play even more alarming to me.

Well, the players shouldn't care. They should care about the teams that made them millionaires and pay them ridiculous amounts of money to play for THEIR team. I don't give a shit what they think about the meaning of these games. Only one championship matters--the World Series.

As much as we poo-poo it, and as much as Americans were ho-hum about the WBC .....
I'm listening to Bud Selig being interviewed and he's talking about how the television ratings in Puerto Rico and all throughout Asia were through the roof for this thing.
