My cats know sports better than Bondy, so what's your point?
When I was in my 20s, I used to walk around like I had something to prove. I had to make a point of NOT being a Derek Jeter fan because I didn't want to be confused with all the little teenie-boppers who wore pink Yankee hats because they thought he was cute... I was doing the whole "buck the stereotype"... desperately trying to prove that I was "one of the guys" and I did not want to be associated with groupies and girlie girls...
Then I learned that I know sports, especially baseball, better than 90% of the guys I have met who aren't affiliated with the bleachers. When I was single, I picked up more guys at bars by talking sports and plenty of times I had to hold back, so as not to bruise their egos. I've also been known to bitch-slap a few Boston faggots by showing them I know their team better than they do, especially if I have had a few too many...
Then *I* grew up.
You know what? It's entertainment. I have a career. I have a man. I have family. I have a life. I enjoy sports... and a whole bunch of other things.
...AND... Ted Lilly is STILL the man.

Does making a long ass post declaring that you don't have to prove yourself kind of... defeat the purpose? and looking at your fantasy roster, 90% is about 85% too high.
My point is, I have a life, and a job, and friends and all that other good stuff, but I think it's just different for those of us who view baseball as a passion, versus entertainment. Maybe it's just me, but knowing that I can only casually play the guitar, I'm never going to compare my knowledge to those who study and are passionate about it, because I know damn well that if i try to appear on the same level, that i will just make a fool of myself.

I think it's just you. There are a bunch of people on this board who work in the industry... and others who have probably logged more hours watching baseball than you have been alive... but they don't walk around with a chip on their shoulder, pretending that their knowledge elevates them to some lofty place. The only "level" you appear to be on, is the one with little homo jimmy.
And no offense, but my fantasy team is none of your business.
You probably should not be so quick to jump in and judge people you don't know, on a message board you just joined, in a thread that was started over a gag that dates back almost 7 years.

haha, If she wants to pick me out to try and look tough, then that's her prerogative, but fighting on an internet message board isn't really my style.
Though, if you want, we can have a dance off?

You would win the dance off by default. A girl fight is better, and it would give Sid the chance to redeem himself for not filming the LAST girl fight ever in Section 39.

Laura was right about one thing, though: Her cats do know more about sports than Bondy does. My cats do, as well.

I disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion. I think rating players on their hottness is a more enjoyable and less pointless use of time than trying to talk sense in the politics thread. I know I don't post a lot, but had to chime in here. See Laura, sorry but this is where you lose all credibility. You can't start a thread saying you don't like baseball because the guys are hot and then within said thread make a comment about rating players on their hotness. You're completely contradicting your original point. You're making yourself look silly (and hopefully not dragging the rest of us female fans down with you). Having said that, admittedly, I don't know nearly as much about current player stats as I once did and steer clear from debates for that reason. (Now ask me anything about parenting/diapers/sleep habits and I'm full of knowledge ). That doesn't take away from the fact that I love the game and enjoy watching my team play. IMO, no female I know or many of the men out there for that matter knows more about sports than Sooz and Dana is in fact correct....soccer players are hotter than any other sport. Beckham = HOT

Hi, my name is lindsey. I really like what you said, and I already tried to tell her that somewhere on the last page. Everything she posts in this thread is just a contradiction to something else she posted in this thread.
Is there no 'this is a picture of my baby, everyone melt' thread? There definitely should be.

There are indeed threads with babies and even kittens abounding. If they cant be found, someone should start another one. As a proud parent myself, I heartily endorse.

ooooh snap! I don't have a child yet (probably for the best) but I do have a nephew who is 17months. His parents, (my sister & brother-in-law) are both away on military obligations, so he is my little partner in crime until they safely return. This is him at his very first minor league baseball game.

haha! I love photos of kids that you just KNOW they're going to hate you for having when they're older. "dude, dad! Why'd you take a picture of me with a spoon half out of my mouth! you jerk!"
and hey! Aiden stayed pretty aware through most of the game, he would clap when the people around him did, and wave his cowbell at obnoxious times. It was great! and he's lucky, that was an International League play off game! Jeff Niemann started that game!

Looks like the Yankee hat fits like a glove, while the Sux hat is clearly the result of some jealous, confused adult dropping his/her own on top of the tot's dome!
