Bud IS the number one selling beer in Europe. That is FACT. Well, ok, I heard this FACT a few years ago, so the caveat to that statement is that at some point in very recent history BUD was the number one selling beer in Europe and second place wasn't close. If, in the interim another beer has supplanted Bud, then I stand corrected.
But the point stands - Bud is KING, globally.

Peroni IS a savage dissapointment. I always fall for it, and ask the garcon to bring me a chilly bottle when I dine at fine establishments sporting the Italian cuisine. And I constantly regret my choice in sippage, although the cartoon pic of the slovenly Italian gent on the bottle is kinda cool.

I wonder if he hangs out with the cartoon Mexican slumped against the side of an adobe wall, with his sombrero pulled over his head, plastered on a bottle of Tequila or a Mexican Restaurant sign.

BTW, in case the word hasn't spread back east....Mexicans laugh at us Americans for buying into the Corona craze. Corona is considered nothing short of Horse Piss in Mexico.

Budweiser is swill.
It's difficult for me to see people in a pub in England drinking Bud on tap when the Guiness or Bass tap is a mere foot away (or even London's Pride or Stellas). The other thing that is rough is seeing Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, et al, on the import aisle at the local grocery story.
I am a huge fan of Mexican Beers. Cho, when I was a kid, Tecate used to sponsor the Friday night fights at the Olympic Auditorium (broadcast on Channel 13) and they ran the commercials touting "Tecate Beer with lemon and salt" and my dad used to pound them.
I've enjoyed Tecate as well as XX (Dos Equis) and XXX (Tres Equis normally only available in Mexico) and Sol and Carta Blanca and Presidente and Modelo Especial and Modelo Negro.
Modelo Negro is my favorite beer in all of the world. Hands down.
Corona? That is absolute shit. It's funny to see people up here paying top dollar for a beer that is regarded as shit in it's own country. It's the lowest beer put out by that brewery.
Adding a lemon or lime, or even drinking a flavored beer for that matter, is the gayest thing next to having a cock in your ass. Beer is brewed from specific ingredients. That's what makes it beer. If it tastes so bad that it needs to have something to mask it, then it is probably shit.

Jackass, I'm in 100% agreement with your entire post. Well, except the part about Friday Night Fights, which I wouldn't know anything about! It amazes me that people with regular access to good beer drink that swill.

Agree on ALL POINTS except your Bud take Jackass. It's not swill and it is the KING OF BEERS, globally.
I remember the Olympic fights....I saw a few wrestling matches there as well, but of course the Olympic will always hold fond punk rock show memories for me...one of them being, breaking out of Charter Grove with a friend shorting the electric gate by "popping" the contents of orange juice drink-boxes into the wiring, hitching from Corona to LA to catch Discharge at the Olympic.

Tecate is my favorite Mexican beer.....in a can (bottled Tecate is a fairly recent thing). Pop a can of Tecate, squeeze a quarter of lime and about two pinches of salt into the can, and drink away.

Modelo Negro is the best. No question.
It has an interesting history as a beer because it is actually a traditional European beer that hasn't been brewed in Europe since the late 19th century. Modelo Negro is a Vienna Lager, that was brought over to Mexico by German brewers that emigrated.
It being a lager is what fools most people about that beer.
Most people see a dark beer and expect it to be an ale. Modelo is actually a very light tasting dark beer. It has a medium body and flavor. It's rather malty because the malt is roasted, and a crisp hoppiness (not as much as an IPA of course). This beer is so fucking delicious I usually drink like 6 or 8 at a time.
Cho, I brew my own beer, and cheap incredients and shitty water make me conclude that certain beers are swill. Massive breweries, located at various points in the country (or countries) can't use the same single water source. Water is about 99% of the ingredients for any beer. They use a bland yeist, and cheap hops and barley (because they have buy so much of it). I just don't like it.
Thats not to say that there are not a few cheapo brands of beer that I don't enjoy. I like original "double ott buckshot" C00rs in the yellow can served at about 38 degrees. Colorado Kool-Aid.
I used to have a soft spot for Olympia (until they closed the brewery in Oregon) and believe it or not, I used to drink Lucky Lager exclusively when I was out in the Mojave desert (shooting rabbits, coyotes, and other shit or when we went to Lake Delores). I could pound Lucky Lager like it was water, and then as soon as the sun went down I was looped.

HAHA. Lucky.
People always thought they were getting over because Lucky was cheap...but thing is Lucky Lager is an 11 oz bottle, not 12. So with a 12 pack your being shorted (1 x 12 = ) 12 ounces or normal full bottle of beer.
But the riddles were cool.

Question:
In my softball league, we have an extremely shallow right field, with a huge fence (probably taller than the green monster) to protect the million+ dollar Corona Del Mar homes immediately beyond the fence. The rule is, if you hit the ball over the fence, that's three outs (and the outs will carry over to the next inning if need be).
My question is of a legal nature. If you hit a softball in a city sanctioned softball game and break a window or worse yet dent one of the expensive cars parked on the street...are you, the player that hit the ball, financially liable for damage?
I've hit one over this season, but luckily I didn't hit anything.

You shouldn't be, but I guess it's a state to state issue if they want to hold citizens responsible.

The funny part is, one of the rules of hitting the ball over is that you must also take " the walk of shame" over to retrieve your ball.
When I hit mine over, the home owner was standing there with my ball, shaking his head in disgust. Luckily, as I said, I didn't damage anything....but there are NICE cars parked on that street, and the parking situation is crowded. How I managed to avoid plunking a Lexus I'll never now.

I think you are responsible. the park is the area within the fences. But if the field is too small for softball, then it shouldn't have been erected by the municipality, and that, you could argue, makes them responsible. But I don't really know.

We were talking about this last night....I sure as hell wouldn't park my car there.
The funny thing is that the RF wall is SO TALL...but it's deceiving. Before I hit mine over (I'm not the quintessential beer-league softball power hitter...but I will toot my horn and claim that I have OK power, but may very well be the best placement hitter in the league) I would have sworn that I couldn't hit the ball over....but one night I was particularly interested hitting the ball down the RF line, I got under one and I thought it would innocently drop into RF for a routine fly ball play, but it sailed and sailed and cleared the high fence on the downward arc. I was cringing waiting for that thud of my ball landing on a car, but thankfully that sound never came.
Maybe its like living on a golf course....I know golfers aren't liable for damage they inflict on expensive golf course homes.

I hit a ball through a bus window on a small, crappy field in Manhattan, and the bus driver pulled over and charged onto the field, demanding to know who hit it and swearing that whoever hit it would pay. We all laughed our asses off at him. Then a cop car came by and the bus driver hailed it over. When the bus driver explained what happened to the cops, they basically laughed at him and drove away.
