I guess you've run out of excuses for Giambi, who in the month of May all but admitted using steroids, got busted for using greenies, and of course, only managed 11 hits.

With his injury, its a wonder he got even 11 hits. He played through immense pain, and the Yankees had to shut him down. If anything, he showed guts that are really not on display around this team recently.

You have more excuses for him than he has hits.

I thought of this last night, and I thought it was pretty funny at the time.
Jason Giambi, off the roids, has turned into BRAD FULLMER.
Anyone remember this clown? He had a body like Evander Holyfield and hit like a schoolgirl.

Eh, he has 10 homers in under 150 at-bats, on pace for over 30.
What exactly constitutes "hitting like a schoolgirl?"

Don't confuse my self-amusement with facts.
I know in our fervor to prove Balls wrong, we all like to pump up Giambi. And in fact Giambi is a far cry from the complete waste that Balls makes him out to be...but come on, the guy is a bust. Do any of us trust him in key at-bats? I certainly don't. I've seen to many strikeouts and weak grounders to have any faith in this guy as a key contributer. I was so sure he was going to turn it around in a huge way this year. But he's hitting .235.

Please. The guy is absolute garbage. A few good weeks will not change that, and there is nothing you can say, do, or whine about that will change that he is a GIGANTIC bust.
And if there wasn't enough proof that he stinks--Tom actually likes him. That alone shows how bad he is, because he ONLY likes players who suck.
Giambi is as one dimensional as a player can get.

I would be happier with Giambi if he were a one-dimensional player. That would imply that his fielding is acceptable because of his value as an offensive player.
At this point, neither are up to par.
I certainly don't agree with your assessment, Balls, of Giambi as one of the worst players ever to wear the pinstripes....but I do and always have agreed that the net result of that signing back in 02 is that it was a bust.

By one dimensional, I mean, he only has the HR in his game. He has been among the worst signings of all time. The worst part is that he got so much playing time. They signed him for so long that they tried to get some return on their investment. So the more he plays, the more he contributed to his shit legacy.
He is garbage.

Oh, and by the way, good timing on this.
Considering Giambi is 14 for his last 29, with 4 home runs.
Find something else to do and someone else to rip, fuckers.

Um, 29 at bats out of about 4000 doesn't really amount to a hill of beans. The guy could go 200 for his next 200 and still be a bust.

He ought to do what I do in softball...take the first pitch no matter WHAT!
He's a wingnut....no discipline in any aspect of his game whatsoever....and apparently no interest in developing any. I think 2B is cursed for the Yankees.
Man, I long for the days when the worst thing I had to complain about was Scott Brosius' frequent habit of flying out to an infielder.

You could actually hear Kay losing a bit of patience with him, as when Cano dicked into another out Kay sorta snarled, "swinging at the first pitch again" as he went into the call.

For the third time in 7 years, Giambi actually did something. That's $40 million per big game.

No to say he has done something for just the third time is idiotic..Has he been a disappointment? Yes...A bad signing at that $? Yes.....Worst signing ever? No, not even close.......I think many knew he would not live up to the back years of the contract.....He had good seasons his first 4 FULL seasons here (one I believe was an injury shortened one in between).....

That's about it. He won a game in Minnesota in 2002. He won a game against Toronto in 2008. He contributed to a nice comeback in the 2003 LCS.
Other than that, he has been a complete dud.
He did NOT have 4 good seasons here. He sucked ass here.

He did NOT have 4 good seasons here. He sucked ass here.
2002 - .314 average, 41 homers, 122 RBIS, .435 OBP 2003 - 41 homers, 107 RBIS, .412 OBP 2005 - 32 homers, 87 RBIS, .440 OBP 2006 - 37 homers, 113 RBIS, .413 OBP
These are the 4 seasons he played without injury here in NY. Pretty much near the tops of the team in all the categories above.
In the last two seasons, abbreviated due to injury last year and still early this year, he has 26 homers and over 70 RBIS in just over 130 games and is on base nearly 40% of the time.
So, AGAIN, numbers just do not bear out your weak arguments.

I love how you conveniently leave out that he doesn't hit the ball. 2002 is undisputed. But after that, he was a complete dud.
I realize you don't get it, but there is actually more to the game than a HR.

but there is actually more to the game than a HR.
Yes, driving in runs, and getting on base. And he is generally at the top of the team in both categories.
Sorry, actual numbers beat you into submission here.
And I love how you are weakly trying to wave around batting averages here, cause in two of those seasons I did not bother printing them, they were right around Reggie Jacksons CAREER BATTING AVERAGE.
You dont need to be Rod Carew and nip singles all day if you are hitting home runs and leading the team in driving in, and scoring - runs.

He was not paid to walk. He was paid to HIT the ball. He doesn't hit the ball, as evidenced by his paltry average.
He has been the worst regular Yankee in his time hear. The fact that you defend him only proves my point, as you only defend Yankees who suck.
Giambi is the modern day Steve Balboni.
