In just 15 days after the first pitch of the 2009 season, both Pops and Neil are now 300 points behind the leader, which is still Suzy. 300 points is approximately a week's worth of points, give or take.

GETS going??
Um, excuse me. He has BEEN going.
15 games, .368 average, .389 OBP, FIVE home runs, 15 RBIs.
You were saying? You guys still think that pick was funny?

It's still real early, but so far Aaron Hill in the 17th round is a steal. Only been a few weeks but that Toronto lineup is potent, and he is reaping the benefits.

I went in wanting Hill. Considering I also have Orlando Hudson as an option, I came out ok there. Hill is underrated, period. Not that I am so astute for that grab, but the laughter in the room when I picked him - even in round 17 - that makes the giggly ones look pretty stupid.

Only reason I stayed away from him is because it burned me last year with that concussion. This year I stayed away from guys who burned me in past years. Didn't want to mess with it. That, and I considered 2007 to be a fluke for him, as his SLG was shit when he went down last year. And I really didn't need him with Uggla. But it doesn't look that way thus far. He'll level out some, but so far he looks good.

Neil, who once drafted Kei Igawa, had a very good night last night, which has given him some nice breathing room in 11th place. Pops is now the only person in the league not to have at least 100 points this session.
Jose has taken the session lead, with Tom staring at his rear. Gross.

If I had even mediocre pitching, I'd be in first place, or at least threatening. Wow, does my pitching staff blow.

And if the Queen had a dick, she'd be King.
Big differece between getting hot the first few weeks in April and being in first late in the year. Don't sweat it.

Kickass weekend for the Swingin' Dicks, as they take the lead in the overalls and the session.

I think it may be safe to say that Pops' team is not that good. Less than a month into the season, Pops is 106 points out of 11th place.

Pops has a big mouth. Deserves to be relegated, in my book. Go for it, Pops!

Pops is now 151 points behind 11th place. Meanwhile, Justin becomes the first person in the league to hit 1000 points this year. He is 369 points ahead of Pops.
Kudos to Neil for rebounding from his dismal start and actually being in session contention. Not bad for a guy who once drafted Igawa.

Yeah, and I think I'm toast, too. I have 3 SPs left to Neil's 4, and Peavy is shaky thus far.

While Im not overjoyed with my placement, I am doing well enough considering 3 of my top draft picks have either been out or useless (Webb, Hamels, McCann) - also working with one closer pretty much. So I am holding it together, and if my team can get healthy Im in good shape. I have as good of talent as anyone on my injured list.

I really don't have anyone hurt... my team just sucks. Oswalt can't buy a win when he throws 7 innings, gives up 1 run & his team wins the game... I wonder if I have any hope of being a contender for next session?

Justin is a lot like a typical hamburger.
He's on a roll.
With 82 points last night, he takes a solid lead in the session. Meanwhile, Pops fades even more. And Knoblauch, predicted to finish no higher than 7th even before he made a pick, is lounging in 10th.
Justin--518.67 Neil--456 Tom--441 Nettles--439.67 Evan--435 Knoblauch--406 Laura--371.67 Jose--366.67 Larry--349.67 John--345.33 Suzy--324.33 Pops--324

Just Peavy left, though. Not sure I can hang on.
How about Nettles in second overall? Told you it was early.

As the session nears a close, Pops desperately is trying to finish behind Suzy in the battle for the basement. Justin still holds the lead.

Holy crap. Research just showed that we may have a new major streak that just got snapped, that flew WAAAAAAY under the radar.
Justin wins his first session since Session 10, 2004.
That's....get this....56 straight sessions.
You can't make this up.
He's DiMaggio!

I don't buy it. I think I won 3 years ago.
Even still, I've been playing with house money the entire time, and I still have plenty left to go.
But it's nice to start to replenish the resources. Hopefully I can manage to win another this year.
