Great! Should be fun facing him here in the American League!

Interesting. Didn't see that coming at all. Also interesting in that I have just acquired Peavy in exchange for Adam Dunn in my fantasy league

I just hope he is not taking Clayton Richards' spot.

Balls isn't worried. Balls thinks his ERA will jump to 11 now that he's in a "real" league.

I wouldn't say 11.00, but being in the high 3s/low 4s is realistic.

Peavy has a full no-trade clause. He loves the NL. I don't know that I see him accepting such a deal, to go to the American League and pitch in a launching pad for a bad team.
And if he was on the fence before, today's Sox score probably made him laugh so hard that he cracked a rib and the deal would be nixed anyway.

He invoked the no-trade. Maybe they should have asked him before making and announcing the trade?

Not only did he block the trade, he's starting TONIGHT (I believe).
Pretty odd.

this seems like a no-brainer to me. Trade him to Atlanta. It's near his Alabama home. They're a pitching oriented franhise, and should have the prospects to get it done, excluding Tommy Hanson, who I doubt they trade. How about a Peavy, Lowe, Vazquez, Jurrjens, Hanson rotation? That'll make people forget about Smoltz
