Pops is threatening to go back to last place with a putrid start to the session, as Larry takes a slim lead.

Monster night by Tom (134 points) gives him the session lead, punts Laura down to 5th place, and gets him within striking distance of his rival, Larry. Meanwhile, Pops is almost 100 points behind ANYONE in the SESSION.

Wow I'm sinking fast. Now my #1 pick is out 6 weeks. This week I bench Dallas Braden even thro he gets 2 starts, Did not want him facing those Texas hitters. So what happens he winds up with a +5 for the game. I bench Rick Porcello as he is facing the Red Sox's he gets a -5. I keep Ervin Santana in he gets bitch slapped for 10 hits and 8 earned runs . I go with Mike Pelfrey who must have throat he was facing Somali pirates. curse he pissed his paints for a -17. As I told Cpt. E. J. Smith theres to much ICE in my drink !!!

Nice job with 134 points. Even with 4 SPs in one day. Hopefully I can catch right back up with my 3 SPs going today.

Hey, check out that slacker, Pavano with the CG SO! Way for him to remember how to toss the ball a month after he starts playing for the Indians...

A big F.U. to Alexei RamÃrez who after getting benched by the Wolftones. hits homers in back to back & belly to belly Games. F.U. Alexei !!! I was looking for a big year from Alexei. With Jose on the D.L. I need a short stop but Jhonny Peralta is not it. He is having a worse year then Alexei is. No waver clam from me on Johnny.

And Larry had a shit draft. He's living up to his reputation as one of the best in season managers in the league--which is tough to do in this league.
Meanwhile, is Pops even playing anymore?

justin, take this as the ultimate compliment. i saw your prowess in the football league and at the end of 2004 i heard you took 2 out of 4 baseball championships. i felt it my duty to try to prevent you from schooling the shit out of this league. you are by far the most savvy competitor ive come across with respect to fantasy sports. too bad you most likely dont do fantasy lacrosse, because i would school your ass in that, hahaha.
now onto msb and my shit draft. carl crawford. chone figgins. mark reynolds. pablo sandoval. roy halladay. k-rod. you know what. you got me. i guess i did have a shit draft. those are all my guys who are tops at their positions. thats not a lot from the draft. damn. i am good.

It's impossible to not have great players on any 12 person fantasy league. But this was not a typical draft for you. I expect more. You were not on your game that day. You're on your game now though. I was going to make fun of Laura's 9 point night, but Jose got 5 points, so she kicked his ass.
Larry--479 Suzy--478.67 Justin--473 Tom--449 John--448 Laura--425.67 Nettles--397.67 Evan--390 Neil--380.67 Knoblauch--378 Jose--362.67 Pops--300.67

I appreciate that, Larry. Though I don't think I've been anything close to that for most of the last 5 years. I really took for granted that I was better than most in this league at fantasy baseball. Some people finally caught up, and this league has some serious players, now. I said before last season that I would make a better effort, but I wasn't able to put the work in before the draft last year. This year I vowed to stop giving this league back the money they gift-wrapped for me the first few years.
Not happening any more. I've been fortunate to this point, in that my team injuries haven't involved many of my first-teamers, but I'm really not surprised I'm at the top right now. I had a fantastic draft, along with some good fortune. And David Wright had an awful start. Looks like he's figuring it out. And I knew I got great value for Zack Grienke (my fifth starter, if you'll recall), but even I didn't see this coming. Nelson Cruz has been a low-risk/high reward boon as well, and my gamble on taking Peavy over Webb looks like pure genius.
Scary thing is, my team is going to get better, barring injury. Stephen Drew is starting to hit (thanks for filling the hole, Asdrubal), I mentioned Wright, and while I was fine with Ramon Hernandez at catcher, I can't believe Laura dropped Chris Iannetta. I think he's going to be a very good catcher, definitely Top 10 by season's end (even with the missed time on the DL).
As for your "shit draft," that seems odd coming from MSB, given that he had you as a post-draft favorite during his points projections.
There are too many good owners in this league to suggest anything is in the bag. It's too bad I couldn't get all of you completely wasted the night before the draft like I did with Knoblauch.

Great session. Larry, who had an awesome draft and is continuing his great in season managing, has moved into second place overall, and 1st in a session that is tighter than Tom's wallet.

I'd like to downgrade my Peavy gamble from "pure genius" to "looks slightly better overall."

Nettles, with about 170 points in the last 2 days, came within 6 points of stealing the session.
But he didn't, so he gets NOTHING. Congrats to Larry.

i did hold onto that, did i? with doc halladay injuring his groin in the 4th inning friday night, and luis castillo turning a save into a blown save + loss in one play (which i obviously couldnt be happier about) for k-rod, i was doubting i could hold on.
i did see nettles come out of nowhere but i knew i beat him out by a few points.

Besides, Tom didn't come out of nowhere. He was always in decent contention. He sure wasn't 100 points back with 2 days to go. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal had Tom won the session. Since he didn't though, it really doesn't matter.

The night before the 3 complete games I had 60 plus from my bats. Oh, if I could have combined those, I would have broken a one-night record, I think.
