Tom starts off the session big with a 127 point day. Laura begins the session with a terrible 9 points, but what's worse than that is that she actually did better than TWO people--Pops and Neil.
Tom--127 Suzy--69 Larry--65 Knoblauch--60 Justin--35 Evan--33 Nettles--33 John--23 Jose--16 Laura--9 Pops--8 Neil--6

My 9-point night was well worth it... I'm quite OK with Santana giving up a touchdown and a field goal in this instance, as long as he does not make a habit of it

There were I think just 2 games in baseball yesterday and you got 30 points with no pitching and only 3 hitters. Not bad.

Larry, take a look at my team, plenty of pitching, let me know if anything interests you and perhaps a trade proposal can be in the works. Jw

Stop licking off his hitting. Saturday I got nearly 60 points from mine. Go back and see how many I had from my bats last session, they carried my team. If my pitching starts rolling through, look out.

Larry and Tom have the most bitter rivalry in Section 39 Fantasy Baseball. Larry has got the better of it so far though.

So Larry pushes past Tom to take the lead in the session. Plenty of time left as this bitter rivalry goes back and forth. Justin is also in the mix. You know, on the subject of Justin, who is the league leader in overall points, I have to say that by getting Knoblauch, the defending champ and only other multi-season winner, drunk, he pulled off one of, if not THE dirtiest move in the history of this league. It was a poor display of sportsmanship, and a level of deviousness that has never even been attempted, let alone pulled off. Knoblauch's current run at the bottom of the standings is arguably due to Justin's efforts. It was awful, yet at the same time, incredibly impressive.
It reminds me of a lesson I once learned by watching the Wizard of Oz. There was a point where Dorothy was trapped by the witch, and was all scared, and she gets a vision of Auntie Em looking for her in a crystal ball. She talks about how scared she is, and how she wants to help her, and how she wants to go home. Suddenly the crystal ball changes images and turns into the witch, who proceeds to mock Dorothy. It was one of the most cruel moments in the film but it was so well done, so well executed. It was a lesson well learned. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the villain and say, "good job."
Larry--149 Tom--142 Justin--131 Knoblauch--118 Jose--103 Evan--99 Suzy--94 Nettles--80 John--72 Neil--62 Pops--38 Laura--32

Nothing dirty about the move. I drank more than he did that night, and my tolerance is shot after going from drinking 4 nights a week to drinking once every two weeks or so. It's not my fault...you can thank Uncle Jagermeister.

Larry outscored his rival Tom by 10 points last night, but Justin jumped ahead of both of them in this close session.

Oh, by the way, Holy Crap Laura - your team friggin sucks. 25% of the points the leaders of the session are running with?? How is that even possible?

You'd think that "the best hitting in the league" would be enough to win, to hear you tell it.

It could have / should have been even better, although we all bemoan that fact. Cliff Lee had a lead blown from out from under him, Cole Hamels lost a tough 2-1 tilt, and Matt Cain had a no-decision after 8 innings of 1-run ball. If things fell my way I could have had another 36 points. Oh well.
Um, is Neil even playing? Can someones team actually be so bad???

Take note of the leaguewide email. Two trades over the weekend. I don't know if Tom is going to protest, but I think he'll be mad.

It's appropriate that on the eve of the second subway series, the league's two heated rivals, Larry and Tom, are neck and neck for the session, with Evan right there trying to spoil it. And will Nettles try to do what he did last time, and sneak in at the last second, only to lose?
Tune in 2 days from now to find out...
