Look out for Tom, who, like the Yankees, has been surging since the All Star Break.
Slowly but surely, he is threatening to overtake Justin for second place.

Since the All-Star break? Try for the last month or so.

Actually, you had a bad run for about a 2 week span recently.

So Tom continues his surge, moving past Justin for second place in the overall standings. And now we have two heavyweights--the two biggest rivals in the league, fighting it out for the top prize. But it gets better, the two are running first and second in the session too. Oh, and check out Pops' incredible start to session 9...

I will, but of course, you could log into Yahoo. The only reason for the overall standings thread is for the benefit of the humanoids.

As of now, we are in a good fight in the second through fourth place slots. Just 62 points separate the 3 teams. Larry is only 130 points ahead of the pack.
But right now, I think even above and beyond that, the story of the week is Pops. FOUR days into the session, Pops has just 48 points. 48 points! What the hell? Neil and Knoblauch, who have set the standard for horrible teams this year, have each gained over 100 points on Pops--in FOUR DAYS.
Over the years, John, Grover, Laura, and Milton have all been relegated. You know what all four of those people have in common? NONE of them have ever finished in the money. Pops is on pace to be the first person who ever actually finished in the money, to get the boot.
I'm shocked.

JESUS H CHRIST, tom. what are you a freight train. ive been on a run to take over top spot in this league and youve gained ground on me in that span. i guess the blind squirrel does run across a nut from time to time. anyday now, that injury bug will knock your team back down to size. any day now.

Theres a reason Pops is in last place. He turned down a trade with me where he could have filled two major holes to one minor hole for me. If thats the way he runs his team, Im not surprised he hasnt cracked 50 this session.
As happy as I am with my performance and Justins drop, I am grumpy about Nettles hanging around, and Larry keeping pace and holding on to his spot.

Ok, just getting the good stuff out of the way, Tom is still surging. Larry's bad night combined with Tom's decent night and Justin's much needed 65 point night, has put the top 3 teams within 118 points of each other.
Good session too with Tom, Nettles, and Jose fighting it out.
But once again, I have to ask, what the hell is up with Pops? Remember when I was making fun of his 48 point total? Well, one day later he has 58 points. A ten point night. What the hell?
With the exception of Laura, who gained a mere 78 points on Pops in 5 days, everyone in the league has gained a minimum of 115 points on Pops--again in 5 days.
Pops has 58 points in 5 days. Justin got 65 points last night.
Tom has gained 204 points on Pops--in FIVE DAYS.

W.T.F. is up with my team. They seem to have all quit on me at the same time. Has any team had a worst week in the history of this league ? ( other then frost not setting his line up to start the season) ? Time to "sake it up" . this can't be allowed to continue.

Pathetic. That's about all I can say about Pops' team this session. We're now 8 days into a 14 day session, and Pops' team has just 159 points. He had ANOTHER 11 point night last night.
In 8 days, he's averaging less than 20 points per game. How is that possible without benching all your players?
I am sickened. I will have to check the archives to see what the record is for worst session that wasn't shortened.
Meanwhile, Jose is winning the session.

Congratulations to Pops, Neil and Knoblauch, who are all 1000 points out of first. Additional congrats to Pops, who is 1000 points out of FOURTH.
Think about that for a second. Let's say a bad team like Pops' scores 500 points in a SESSION. While that's not happening THIS session, it's hardly impossible. That's not even good enough to WIN most sessions.
A session is 2 weeks. That means that at that pace, if everyone in the league shut down their rosters and put everyone on their bench for an entire month, except Pops, at the end of that month, Pops would be in 5th place.
Nice job Pops!

I pulled a Pops last night with a whopping 12 points. It didn't help that none of my pitchers played, but it really didn't help that my douchebag 3B hit into three double plays.

Look out people...
Could Tom finally be on the verge of actually winning the league for the first time in EIGHT tries?
The man is in second right now, but he's on a run. Could Tom's ugly mug be gracing the top of the section?
Or will Larry hang on? Or will Justin make a comeback?
Stay tuned.
