Oh, show is already taped, thats the episode that is airing.
Not sure what the challenge is. Im a couple of episodes backed up. PS - interesting factoid - Adam Richman, as funny / cool as he is on the show, is a whiner and sensitive bastard on Twitter. Always with the woe is me.

I always see commercials for this when I'm watching 'Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations' on the same channel.
It always just looks like this garrelous slightly overweight guy with a slight beer buzz...kind of like Mike Donahue, sitting in front of mountains of food with an audience. If this show is that good, I will give it a click this holiday weekend.

Gooner, check it out. The guy is having a grand old time. The places he goes to are cool, the dishes he is sampling, even before the end of show gorge, are interesting. A bunch of us like the show, its fun. And if you do like it, its friggin on ALL THE TIME. Found out a fun fact this week - Richman used to be a production assistant at MSG Network.

I think he's boring. I watched a couple of his shows and was like, blah. Give me Samantha Brown anyday.

Samantha Brown would be a lot cooler if she was a chain smoking, vodka loving, sex addict.

She does like her booze....I watch enough of her to know. She is always pounding cocktails, or drinking things like peyote tea. She always seems to find "guides" - maybe they boink her for leading her around. Every episode she seems to find a hot tub, or a spa. Who knows what goes on when the camera is not rolling.

Cho's favorite show returns tonight, with new episodes.
Actually, I think they should change the name of the Travel Channel to the Man vs Food channel. I think the show is on daily.

Samantha Brown has a following I've noticed in my travels. I was shocked at how many people watch her show. I too think she needs to loosen up a little bit and get her hands dirty sometimes. As far as her alcohol consumption, she doesn't seem to shy away from the booze but she always has this look on her face like 'oh..i dont know, it's my first drink and i'm apprehensive about the whole thing.' I mean, are we all supposed to buy that? Then after she vaporizes a caipiriniha or some OUZO with her 'guide' they make it seem like....poof...off to bed in her cozy suite like a good little lass as soon as the clock strikes midnight. I mean, she is in showbiz and has a long-standing deal with the Travel Channel. She didn't get there by going to bed at midnight if you know what I mean!! LOL That's what I appreciate about Tony Bourdain. He makes no qualms about who he is, what he eats, drinks, snorts, smokes (or used to at least), and doesn't foo foo around with the good behavior smokescreen. He gets ripped on local booze wherever he goes and stays out all night as he has to. My only question to Tony, should I ever meet him is: Samantha Brown...YES or NO??

BIG Samantha Brown fan here! I watch her show whenever a new one pops. Your observations are spot on, but I find them endearing. Her show has a bit more "freewheeling fun" than a lot of others, and booze does play a decent part.
In answer to your question, yes, if I was a single man! While she is by no means "hot" there is something about her, and her episodes find her in quite the stages of undresses. Lots of bikinis (she is quite unabashed), mudbaths, massages, all that. She and I are quite close in age, she was born in 69, so we come from the same generation.
Sexism aside, her show is a breezy watch. I checked out Bourdain, and was bored. His show was too staid, and no fun. You dont know fun till you see Samantha Brown on a cruise!

Of all people, I can't imagine why *you* would think Tony Bourdain is no fun.
I mean, what's more fun than torching 6 tons of cocaine with the Panamanian National Security??

Bourdian is the man. Good show and his book was pretty good. one of the few interesting shows on travel channel. as for Man Vs food, its getting a lil dumb now but i do enjoy it. Bourdian is the fucking man though.

Man vs Food is sorta dumb. And Adam Richman is becoming more and more annoying. But the episode clocks in right at only 30 minutes, an hour would be overbearing. We usually watch while dinner is cooking to work up the appetite.

After a couple of dozen episodes of this, Richman is starting to wear on me. He's getting kind of grating. But we still watch, the show is a romp, I enjoy seeing the different dishes he samples before heading up on the challenge. The challenge to me is the lesser interesting part. I like food travel and dish-sampling.

The show is getting on my nerves too. Whenever Adam is in the kitchen sampling the restaurant's specialty, he's always acting like it's the greatest tasting food ever know to man. I get it, it's good. Leave it at that. It's pulled pork for crying out loud.

I mean...what do you expect.
It's TV. How much longer would the show last if he took a bite of the food and said, "Yeah, that's pretty good...anyway.....what I was saying...."

I totally understand the whole "it's TV" thing. They gotta do it, but that's what drives me away. And it must suck for Adam Richman as well as he's gotta force those reactions every time he tastes something new.
I will, however watch tonight's Man vs. Food as it was filmed on Long Island.

Man vs. Food is a good show, but I would like it more if it was MORE centered around the eating contest, if that makes sense. Its like a knock off Diners, Dive-ins, and drives with an eating contest at the end. Except not as fun.
