i am reposting this here, as tom is one of the originators and i know this is one of balls' favorite nights of the year
i have recieved "numerous texts and email" in regards to Hawaiian Shirt Night. Since I no longer sit on the Social Commitee (hello, rachel? i thought this was your job?), I figured I would post here.
there are only three friday night games left. this coming friday (the 28th) friday 9/11 and friday the 25th (boston).
so yeah, you guys pick.....

As to me, the only game I am at for sure is the 11th. I may be at the game on the 28th, but who knows. 25th, Im out.
I would do this on the 11th. I have not worn the shirt out there in years. Oh, and Cho is in town!

Teena actually called me and said that it would be September 9, a Wednesday, due to the poor Friday selections left.
And for the record, I actually thought HSN meant Home Shopping Network when I first clicked on this post.

Oh, wait, its been pointed out to me that 9/11 is....welll, 9/11.
While we all move on, its still a sketchy thing for many to be carrying on in tropical wear on that day. I get that.
Tricky one.

Hey, Balls, Im glad Tina mentioned all that to me, even in passing!
Vinny, thanks for looking out. I dont think I can make a choice this year, nothing seems ideal, just get it together for when the most people can get into it.

For what it's worth, Rocky took over the whole HSN planning thing about 2 years ago.

Yes, it is. Tune in QVC and buy yourself a Hawaiian shirt.

I thought Vinny was going to be on Home Shopping Network selling bleacher garb. That being said, I vote for a wednesday as 9/25 is really a boring day, not worth celebrating or anything like that.

True. Now that Phil Rizzuto has gone to that great ballfield in the sky, there is nothing of note on 9/25.

9/25 is a very special day.
it's the last friday home game of the season, and it's also against the red sox.

that doesn't make it so special..... with the playoffs and all looming. They should probably skip right to the 26th if they knew what was good.

Actually, Vinny's right. It's the anniversary of the day I passed my road test.

I am in town, although I'm starting to think that any ticket I am able to procure will be nowhere near the bleachers.
I will also, definitely like to catch one or two of the games earlier in the week. I roll into town on the the 5th.

If you are not getting one from us directly, why don't you just buy one on Stubhub?

That's probably what's going to wind up happening...I just know from extensive Stub Hub experience, the choices of available tickets aren't always the best.
