Is anyone watching The League - adult sitcom about a group of fantasy footballers?
This show is GREAT!

DVRd the first episode and deleted it before watching.
Didnt like the looks of the previews, and Im not a fantasy football fan the overriding theme would grind on me.

That's what I thought.
BUT...the overriding theme is these 4 (or 5 guys) and their daily lives, relationships, etc. This show is more like Married With Children than it is about fantasy football.
I like it. Very funny.

I caught the first 2 episodes on demand last night, and it was pretty good. Tom--the fact that you're so into fantasy baseball makes this show worth watching. Fantasy football is the same basic idea, different sport, though I've never heard of a league that only had 6 teams.
The show itself is pretty funny.

Only reason I DVRd it in the first place was cause Nick Kroll is on the cast, and i always found him sorta funny. But it did not make the cut, already deleted and I didnt look back. Didnt like what I saw on the clips, or read in reviews. I have too many shows backed up as it is.
Show is on after Always Sunny.
Eh, I dont even think I like fantasy sports.

You would appreciate it because there were some stereotypes, like the guy who drafts players who retired (cough: Jose: cough).

There's FX on demand? I'll have to check it out. My DVR is sitting at 94% full right now as it is.

It's the same channel that has all primetime on demand in Manhattan--1009.

Don't you people DELETE after you watch?
I'm always hovering comfortably at around 60 - 70% FREE SPACE.

I have TWO DVRs hovering at about 95% capacity. Each of them has about 120 shows on it.
As you can imagine, I record everything I have even a mild interest in watching. This is he same problem that causes me to have an Amazon wish-list with 1500 items on it.
We delete stuff as soon as we watch it. I also sometimes have to delete stuff I kinda wanted to watch, cause I am out of space.

I record stuff and then forget I record it. I have a tendency to record a lot of movies too. That i never watch.

I used to have the DVR recordings sorted in order of when I recorded them...what a mess. I changed it to alphabetized, so now i can see when I am tremendously backed up on a certain show. (we have 5 Law and Order SVUs backed up until this week, and I was up to 7 episodes of the swordfishing reality show Swords at one point)

THERE'S your problem.
Why in the world would anyone Tivo any one of: Law and Order or any of its 50 spinoffs, CSI or its multiple spinoffs, House, or any other cop/hospital dramas. There are at least 10 different channels showing those re-runs multiple times per day.
My recordings consists of: It's Always Sunny, The League, Sons Of Anarchy, Man Vs Food.
Common recordings between the wife and I: The Office, Parks And Recreation, Family Guy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, 30 Rock
Her recordings: House (ugggh), The Soup, Cake Boss (no clue?!?!?!)

House is really good. And enough with the channels showing replays all the time...those are re-runs from 3 seasons ago.
We only watch SVU in regards to the Law and Order franchise.
We also watch lots of food stuff, Man vs Food included. I tape a lot of Ghost shows. I am also a History Channel buff. I got all kinds of documentaries on my DVR. Not a lot of low-brow humor, which is why the League was deleted before it even got comfy there.

I watched the first two episodes of the league. I was gonna bail during the first episode when it seemed like there were only 5 teams in the fantasy league, which would make no sense and lead me to believe that the writers had no idea about how fantasy football works. But they covered that issue. At the beginning of their draft, they mentioned that a few guys were on autodraft and another was drafting over the phone. That also leaves the opportunity to introduce new characters later in the show.
Overall, the show is pretty funny and worth a look if you haven't seen it yet.

Hmm...maybe, just MAYBE, if the show is on my Demand channels, or they show a marathon of the episodes starting at the top, I will check it out, based on the reviews on here. But im still not sold on this.

Again, the funniest parts of this show have absolutely nothing to do with fantasy football.

You can edit the settings so only 1,3,5?, or 7 episodes of whatever show tape. I DVR the Golden Girls but then it started coming on 145 times a day, so I had to control it.
The shows I DVR on Series Recorder are Criminal Minds, Psych, Dexter, Curb Your Enthusiam, The Soup, Are You Being Served, and about 3 VH1 Reality shows.

I think I also have an auto-record for anything featuring John Turturro or Roy Jones Jr.

yeah, but Cho, the idea of a show about a bunch of guys doing guy things for laughs does not strike me as appealing. I dont like lowbrow humor.
Lindsey, I only DVR weekly episodes, new episodes we have not seen. When I back up 7, thats 7 weeks gone by where we did not watch an offering.
I have nothing set to record at "any old time."
