thanks www.f4wonline.com for this. Former WWE headliner who was Randy Couture's first UFC opponent passes away Tony Halme, who wrestled under his real name with New Japan Pro Wrestling as a headliner in the early 90s, and as Ludwig Borga for WWF in the mid-90s, passed away last night in Finland. No details are available regarding the cause of death. Halme was 47.
Halme, a 6-3, 300-pound powerlifter and boxer, was Randy Couture's first-ever opponent on May 30, 1997. Couture won the match via choke in 57 seconds.

Wasn't he the guy who ended Tatonto's undefeated streak?
I always liked Ludvig Borga.
I wish him well on his future endeavors.

Something must have happened with Borga back in those days because I remember he had a promising career. He was a decent heel. Vladamir Kozlov kind of reminds me of him.

Looks like cause of death for Borga was suicide. He had drug problems over the years, and was involved in some legal wrangles.
Found out from JR's blog today that one of the first things WWF had to do with the guy was "cover up" an SS tattoo he had on his calf.

Annoying. I hate when famous people that you think were decent turn out to be scumbags.

Which makes the Finland people look like dicks too. But then again, we have a piece of shit in the White House and a racist senate majority leader.
