Well, the second installment of the Yankees vs. Dodgers Regular Season/Inter-league RIVALRY (that's what all the bus stop ads in L.A. are calling it) is almost upon us.
Anyone else (including Lindsey) making the roadie?
I was there for all three games for the first installment in 2004, and ran into a couple of creatures in the concessions line under the outfield bleachers.
First go-'round was not at all satisfying for Yanks fans, especially one like me who can still vividly recall my childhood tears over the 1981 World Series. The ONLY thing I can recall even taking any pleasure from in that 2004 series in L.A. was Jason Giambi launching an Eric Gagne offering way over the wall in dead center, which is no easy task in Chavez Ravine.
Anyway, even though it's more geographically convenient for me, I'm still disturbed that they haven't moved this series over to the Bronx since inter-league started. I'm anxiously waiting for that one.

It's total malarky that these games are in LA. It's equal malarky that we aren't going to San Diego.

From what I recall, Yanks have visited all NL West parks and all NL West teams have visited the Bronx, except the Dodgers.
I don't totally remember, but I am almost positive I went to a Yanks/Pads series in San Diego in the earlier part of this last decade.
For some reason I was sure that MLB would have saved a Dodgers@Yankees series for the last season at the old Stadium.

and for that matter, whatever happened to playing each entire division every 3 years, with a rivalry series? This year the Yankees play or played 2 teams from the NL East, 1 from the Central and 2 from the West. It's non-sensical, especially with the Wild Card

The Yankees have not been to San Diego since they changed Stadiums as far as I know. I think their last trip there was when they were in Qualcomm.
