I'll post the same thing I said on the other board:
Why is the thread locked? Are we not even allowed to discuss things amongst ourselves at this point?
I have a huge problem with the fact that Vinny and Tina were dragged to the principal's office on Friday and then not even given the courtesy to report back what went on at the meeting. Instead we got a letter from some P.R. flack written in the first person from a Bleacher Creature's perspective. As if any of us wouldn't see right through it. (And I don't care if Vinny had input into the contents of that letter, which I don't doubt; it's still obviously not him addressing us.)
"Why Are You Gay?" was a song whose time had long since come and gone, and the Yankees were right to address this issue. Trying to fix a whole other slew of non-problems at the same time, whilst inevitable, is also terribly misguided and unnecessary.
It's doubly insulting that the Yankees think they can have it both ways, e.g. claim to have the most hardcore fans in all of sports, then neuter those fans, then act like they still have them. 6 paragraphs telling us, basically, that it's all over, these Bleachers as we knew it, and then ending with the fact this this isn't "punishment" (HA!) and that "we can still ... be rowdy"? Do fuck off. The correct response to this communiqué would be for all of us to print it out, bring it to the game tonight, and literally treat it as Lou Brown treated Roger Dorn's contract in Major League.

I think talking about this stuff on a message board won't really do any good. I can't disagree with a lot of what you said, but right now there is a lot of heat. A message was delivered and received. It's unfortunate we're not given the chance to truly handle it. It's very easy to stop that chant. The atmosphere is different when we are made to feel that big brother will be watching.

Of course it won't do any good, but these forums are places to vent frustrations if nothing else.
It should be clear that my frustrations aren't with Vinny and Tina, who I am sure handled it as best they could.

The problem is though that these forums are monitored by the same people that are now wrongfully villifying the group. Ultimately, it feeds the beast.
My problem isn't as much with the Yankees as it is with the people that have chosen to attack us and stereotype us with the same ignorance that they experience all the time. It comes across as hypocritical to me.
Was this a legit complaint? Absolutely. But is our group a bunch of evil people? No. And that's where I'm upset.
Make no mistake--it's the outrage caused by these activists that have made the atmosphere what it will be tonight. The solution to this problem is as simple as the Yankees saying, "please don't do that anymore." When it comes down to it, it is a reasonable request.
Personally, I think instead of venting here or on the other board, a person like you, who has the ability to engage in a direct discussion with these activists, should do so. It could help alleviate the heat.
I can't stand the overkill response, but I think the best thing to do is to be patient.

More of the same. Just another example of the man trying to keep you down. This wouldn't happen if intolerant Republicans were in charge.

This malarkey happened once before, though I dont remember the circumstances leading into it. While I saw Domi mention on the other board "business as usual" last night, the mere fact that you could not chant "Box Seats Suck!" makes me groan.
Undercover security?? Rooting out the "ringleaders?" This is bad. Ill tell you this, if these sanctions are imposed next year my bleacher days are done. I hardly make it in now, cause it bores me to tears the way things changed, but its time for people to make a statement. If you dont present the product like you did, i will choose to watch the product on the field somewhere else.

The worst part about it is that there is no reason to have them guarding us like that--especially over the box seats suck chant. I'm hoping that the "heat" will die down. In reality, if there were undercover assholes there, they stayed incognito. They were also probably bored.
I didn't have a very good time. I was pissed about the overreaction, and more pissed about the game.
This is a perfect example of swatting flies with a flame thrower. I get why the chant in question had to go.
But the overkill has to go too.

you know it's funny...
The creatures story showed up while I doing research on the wires for a Yankees story I was working on, So I've been following it. Not often you guys show up in course of my work day...
It sounded like overkill to me and I've never thought of myself as a creature.
I hear what Domi is saying but I would think that Vinny and Tina were surprized by what they were being hit with.
I wonder if its a case of making the best of a bad situation.
I've read some articles...the Yahoo one stands out in my mind that is the perfect example of bad journalism. It lumps all people in the bleachers into one mindless, hateful bunch and as an outsider - I couldn't disagree with that more.
I was listening to last nights game on the radio and I couldn't hear the roll call...usually it comes through loud and clear.

Roll call was pretty much unaffected, though the ending sucks.

The only way to show that we have BALLS..... No Not MSB. But Really have the balls is to NOT DO THE ROLL CALL for the first HOME STAND at lest.

I hate when people try to report on things they know nothing about. I'll try to find them if I have time, but I saw references to the Bleacher Creatures in a couple of stories about the Rangers' president whining like a pussy. Do none of these morons realize that the bleachers are 350 feet from where the opponents' families sit?
