Funny, due to lack of demand, Yankee lot parking will be going up as much as 50% next season. Read a couple of weeks ago that the parking facilities around the Stadium took a major bath this year. Lost millions of dollars. Well, now its taken out on the poor saps who still insist on driving in.
Just about everyone I know that used to drive in gave it up last season. I would imagine more will be doing same. And this way the parking garages continue to lose a heap of money.

I read the same article and laughed. Demand is down because of price gauging, and they RAISE prices? That's about as dumb as raising taxes in a recession.
They are so defaulting on their loans.

Problem is this is a last-ditch attempt to make some money. Next year things would stay the same at the same prices, most likely. Its just a terrible situation for them. Sucks to be them!
Saw an interesting aside - using one game for an example....sellout vs Boston, and only 5,500 cars used the garages.

Their problem is they don't get the concept of volume. If they DROP the price, more people will be apt to pay.

They're probably counting on the people who HAVE to drive sucking it up and ponying up. I haven't driven to a game in about six years and have no plans to.

I don't have a choice but to drive. It costs me MORE to park than my tickets do. What I do like is that the garage behind the new stadium is close, and very easy to get back on the Degan northbound.

Yeah, I realize some people have no choice, but that pricing is beyond insane.

When I went to my first game at the Stadium ( Giants vs. Miami Dolphins in Dec. 72) We parked at the last stop on the 4 line & took the Subway to the game. E.Z. in E.Z. out. It was true in 72 & it's still true today. PARKING IS TO DAMN HI !!! Was talking to a Boston fan when I was up in Boston last week. He was saying that it's cheaper to pay the parking ticket then to pay for parking around Fenway.

I paid $50 to park at Fenway (Friday game vs. Toronto) I have heard prices HIGHER than that against us. I'm willing to pay good money for a service providing there is a value to it. What bothers me is that these garages are now open to commuters riding Metro-North, and the revenues are greater than before. (Also, the Stadium being is used as a multi-use facility, with concerts, restaurants, football, etc.) There are fewer workers with the automated payment machines. Am I paying 3 times what I did in 2004 because they added advertising, a few port-a-johns, and an option to pay online? Mind you, I have been parking in these same lots since the 1980's.
