So whats on yours?
Check it out, Emma is such a good girl. She took a Toys R Us catalog, and simply circled what she is interested in. Trying to make it easy on us. I noticed an awful lot of circles, although there was careful picking and choosing...not everything fun is circled here. Dana just added it up while laxing on the couch during Raw.
Grand total of Emma's wants in this ONE catalog, not including tax...
$4,154.
Holy shit!

I really want a new LCD tv, but we just can't afford it. I got my wife a new Canon Digital Rebel XT camera since our other camera just died the other day. She'll love it. She talked of getting me a smaller LCD for the bedroom, but i worry that the new tv will kick the ass of my 47" projection tv in the living room that ill not want to watch it anymore.
So, i guess I dunno what i want.
Juliet wants a Nintendo Wii.

We have a Wii and I highly recommend it.
Just alot of fun and there are games for all ages.
Tiger Woods is a blast - one of my all time favorites. I just got into Guitar Hero III - alot of fun too.
I like that it gets you up and moving on most of the games.

If Emma gets over 4,000 dollars worth of stuff, I fully expect the same treatment.

I'm ok with that, but in all fairness, Emma asked first, and if there's a budget, then she should have priority.

sorry, i'm not buying that. This is like the deli, first come first serve.
Frankly, I think $4154 is a little light. She is your only child.

Technically, she did not present the list first. I picked it up off the table when she was sleeping. She is, believe it or not, not done shopping. Tonight she wanted to discuss with me which wrestling action figures she would like. There are also other catalogs she wants to peruse before she presents her wish-list for perusal.
I mentioned a few days ago that my own Amazon wish list contains some 160 items, so I suppose being greedy runs in the household.

If not for Emma, both of you could get your $4154 in gifts. But Emma's list came to Tom's attention first, so she gets priority. It's a rule.

Did Emma do this last year as well? This story sounds very familiar.

I think she did do it last year. But I didn't add it all up.
When we went to Pennsylvania this past June we stopped at the Christmas House in Lancaster and there was one room that was Santa's workshop. They had actual letters kids had written to Santa w/ wishlists. This one kid's list was like seven pages long and had not only the prices listed there for Santa, but the page and item number from the Sears catalog as well.
I want a new camera. But if you ask Emma what Mommy wants for Christmas she says "Mr. Kennedy."

My kid is freakin' greedy as hell. Today we were picking out a birthday present for her friend, Emily. I asked her what Emily likes and she says Barbie. So at the store I hold up a Barbie Island Princess doll that comes with all the animal friends including a little elephant and ask Emma if we should get it for Emily. All of a sudden Em changes her tune. "I don't know if Emily likes Barbie," she says. Not realizing what the real issue was I say "Who doesn't like Barbie?" (I mean, I prefer Ken, but still....) Another mom jumps in to my defense saying that all girls like Barbie. Barbie is a classic. But Emma insists, no Barbie.
Three hours later in the car, the truth comes out. Em: "You know Mom, I'd really like to have that Barbie Island Princess doll for Christmas."
Me: "Is that why you didn't want to get it for Emily?"
Em: "Yes."
Me: "Getting it for Emily doesn't mean you can't get it for Christmas."
Em: "I know. But I didn't want her to have it before I did."
I hope this attitude serves her well in life.

How old is Emma?
That's quite an exchange between you and her...and her plot is admirable. I like the way Emma works.
I want to get my kids Guitar Hero for Wii. Anyone know if this would be a good thing or not? My daughter is 8 and is very enthusiastic about music - she aspires to play an instrument, she loves karaoking, etc...my son is 3 and figure he can at least wail away on the think and entertain himself with the racket. Good idea, or is this game too advanced.
