Emma will be 5 in February. We have many of these flippant conversations. She seems to be very calculating.
I cant speak from experience on the WII thing, but i see no problem with grabbing that for an 8 year old with an inherent interest in music, especially when you can play with it too when you have a hankering. One of my coworkers here did chime in, though, that something like HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL for the Wii would work better, that an 8 year old girl may get bored with the guitar thing. She is also insisting "Guitar Hero" is NOT available for the Wii.

Time flies when you're having fun.

I remember that night Emma was born, at the same time Steve was on a baseball panel on some public access channel, I forgot the name of the show. I let Laura borrow the tape, but I have yet to get it back if it hasn't been copied over already!

Wow, time does fly.
Will she be making an appearance at the stadium before they lower the boom? Does she know "Sheriff" Tom?

JW, Laura probably taped the Gilmore Girls over it.
One thing I have on tape from that night is the Smackdown episode that was airing while we were hanging in the room, waiting for Emma to make her grand appearance. I was able to reference it the other night - Chuck Palumbo came out and I said, "you know, the night Emma was born Chuck debuted along with Johnny the Bull as part of the FBI....Full Blooded Italians....they ran in to help Nunzio in a match."
Emma was born in the 2nd segment of the second hour, causing me to miss the end of the show! But in retrospect its all good, I have the tape now : )
Funny the things you remember.

My daughter was born the day of the VATech Shootings. I don't have any other references as to the day. I remember thinking about the kids that got shot, and had a new type of sympathy for their parents being a new parent myself.

I remember I was outside my work building in Keasbey, NJ, in foot-deep snow, when I received the Sheriff rang me up on the mobile to tell me of young Emma's emergence. It was a Thursday night, and the snow was so bad that week that I stayed in Jersey the following night, which was a Friday night Valentine's Day. I ended up hanging out the whole night at Poor Billy's with a hot bartender who was working because it was to be a lonely Valentine's night for her. It turned out to be a fun early morning on the 15th, though.
I don't remember her name, but take solace that her name wasn't Emma.

Ah Poor Billy's..Me and my buddies used to hit the Monday Night football special where you could bring your own mug and they would fill it regardless of size for $2 and .10 wings....We used to have a table reserved in "the ring" for several years...I think it is a steakhouse now under a new name.....

High School Musical for Wii? I didn't know there was such a thing. My daughter will go APE SHIT for that.
Guitar Hero absolutely is available for Wii - 89.99 at Target right now.

guitar hero is a great game...but your 8 yr old probably wont know any of the songs that are in GH3. it does, however, really help develop hand eye coordination
as for Wii, the hot new game is gonna be Dancing With the Stars

Thats a good point in regards to not being able to follow along with unrecognizable songs at the age, and the lack of fun in not knowing them.
There's actually a Chipmunks game coming out imminently that is drawing high marks for the wee ones.

For the record, I have never watched even 30 seconds of an episode of the Gilmore Girls.
John, I DO still have that tape, untaped over, packed in one of the boxes of DVDs & videotapes that is in the garage or the storage room.

The snow sucked the week Emma was born. I made the hospital discharge me a day early because it was either that or take Emma home mid blizzard, or end up staying longer which my insurance company would probably be idiots about since I didn't "need" to be there.

That bag is actually quite adorable. But I don't know if it is $2000.00 worth of adorable. Then again, if it's a gift.....

Cute bag, but bags really don't excite me that much... if Santa is looking for big-ticket ideas, not that he ever looks in these parts...lol...

It is not for HIM. I actually have a stair stepper, some weights, and resistance cords that I have been using at least three times a week since I bought them in July. He keeps telling me he is going to start using them too.....

Amazon is really kicking ass this year. They must be on overdrive. I banged up some of Dana's wish-list yesterday in the late afternoon, and came into work this morning to find out all of it had shipped already.
The first of her stash is supposed to be delivered today. Talk about an easy shop.
