Have you guys got caught up on the newest craze on the net? Check it out seefalios.myminicity.com/This is my city. You just click on the above link every day and each visit helps build your city up. I hear its like Sim City (which i never played). Hopefully I can get a few of your peoples to create your own city and even visit mine. If you join, post links to your city. This has the potential to be a great thread with everyone posting thier links. Race to see who can get skyscrapers and make your city propserous. I've only had mine for 3 days so I'm not really too far ahead of the game.

Can you attack and destroy one another cities?
Dana should look into this, she has dabbled with the SIMS and other recreation / building games (zoo, etc) - we'll keep you posted.

Wassup guys. This game is like a simplified SimCity.....a game that I've been full-on addicted to for some time. If anyone is interested check out the last installment SimCity4 NOT the new SimCitySocieties which doesn't quite cut the mustard.
I recently rebuilt Detriot by closing all fire and police stations in the ghettos and letting it burn to the ground, then rebuilding nice communities.
BTW: What up, Vin....Your shit was a hit....the baby shirt especially.

When Detroit burned to the ground, that would take care of the buildings, but how did you get rid of the riff raff?

He burned the buildings with the riff-raff still inside, of course.

If theres no where to live or work, the people leave. I had a population drop of 200,000, then spent 10 years re-building better neighborhoods with wealthier people. To make a area more attractive to wealthier sims you need lots of parks, cultural places, rapid transit, schools etc...

But if you let that happen, wouldn't the riff raff take over and anarchy ensue?

Many years ago one of my friends played a similar sort of game. He was really playing it to see how low he could get his approval rating, as the mayor of whatever it was of the city. The game would recommend that a hospital should be built, as the people were clamoring for it, and he would put a monument to himself up instead.
He was shuttering down hospitals and building parks with monuments to himself everywhere. Last I remember his approval rating was down to an astonishing 13%.

Nah, it's sort of the "Build it and they will come" concept. If they have no place to live, and no jobs, they leave town.....oh, yeah.....raising taxes on the poorest sector drives them out to. So, if the wealthy pay a 2% city tax and the poor 22% the poor leave.

Joe--
I saw on your city that you had to put a link up on your blog or give out the link to others. Can you improve your city without that? As in, do a little each day, without anything else, or is there a catch?

I don't know what you are talking about a link on my blog. I don't even own a blog. It's a little each day. I just tell friends and co-workers to visit. There is no catch to this. its just so easy. It just requires one click a day and no other tricks.

Here's my new city--and I can't do anything either: new-otisburg.myminicity.com My city is called New Otisburg. Here's the message I was talking about: "To improve New Otisburg, you only have to give the following links to your friends or post them in your blog. Each different click will improve New Otisburg! "

Three days later, and I still can't do anything. Does this whole game depend on other people visiting my page? If so, New Otisburg is going to be a dead city soon.

Again, I can't do anything. It just sits there until I get enough people to let me do something. I am devastated.
