National Lampoon's Animal House, and the first Vacation. Airlplane! and in my underrated slot - A Fish Called Wanda.
Oh....and Trekkies too. For a documentary, this is piss your pants funny.

John Clease is the man & Michael Palin is hysterical. Monty Python was genius & A Fish Called Wanda is one of my favorite movies, ever. The series Fawlty Towers was actually funnier than Monty Python.

I hated A Fish Called Wanda. It sucked ass. Honestly, one of the worst movies I have ever seen, which is a shame as I am a big Python alum mark. I also was not much a fan of Fawlty Towers, although it had its moments, and was not the pile of bilge that Fish Called Wanda was.

I think a lot of people (not saying that's the case here...just an overall observation) claim to like BBC comedies because they think it makes them appear more intellectual...as if you somehow are brainier if you like the English version of The Office better.
Personally, I think most of those BBC comedies we get over here suck ass. I like Monty Python movies but HATED The Flying Circus....the only one I was ever a true fan of was The Young Ones.

I am surpirsed, Tom, that Wanda was so hated by you..It grew on me, but I know more than a few people who just hated that one, too.
I thought the Flying Circus was a riot...from the marathon for the directionally challanged to the funniest joke in the world skits. Some of it was dumb yeah, but you can't bat a 1.000, I guess. Also Basil Faulty is one of Cleese's funniest characters, I like that show too.
As for the BBC - or English shows - One of the funniest shows I've seen is AB/FAB, I loved that show - that shit was funny. Yeah, the Young Ones was funny, but there were like, what 7 episodes made?
And none of the those shows are really highbrow stuff. I hope I don't come off in the way you describe. In my defense, I also like to plumb the depths of bad movies. And I can find humor there too. The Bad Movie club may be only Tom and I, but I've found myself laugh out loud more than once and I think Tom will agree.

I never saw Trekkies, but it was not meant to be funny. It's only funny if you're normal.

The filmmakers knew what would be funny....check it out. It's not a straight documentary either, they seek out the nuts.

How could everyone forget
- History of the world. - Blazing Saddles - Naked Gun (all of em)
Those are some of my personal favorites. However i must say on a different topic Some of the funniest TV shows i can remember watching are: -The Honeymooners - The 3 stooges

Hear hear on the Honeymooners. A show you can spin the same episode over and over, and it never gets old. One of the more treasured collections in my stash is my Honeymooner box set. But if we want to go TV, Sanford and Son runs the table.
As to the movie choices, haven't seen "History" in a while, so I cant speak to that. Blazing Saddles is very good...but again, like Caddyshack, its overrated in many ways. Naked Gun is silly stuff, but very funny and very enjoyable. But at the end of the day, I think i would prefer the style of yuks the Pink Panter movies would give.

The Three Stooges is in a different category. Originally they were shorts that played in front of movies, like trailers do today.
