By the way, I highly recommend "The Spectacular Legacy of the AWA" DVD for those who love some old school.
It's a very well done and well put together documentary. It defiantly makes you years for the old times.

Me and Grover have been discussing this for a couple of months now. Dana got it for me for Christmas, I will be throwing it on this weekend. Cant wait. I am a huge AWA fan. Got a couple of cool AWA comps from back in the day, and I really enjoy the long, scientific style of matches that were their trademark.

Mike DiBiase, the son of the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase is scheduled to appear at the 1/8 Raw taping in St. Louis, MO. and at the 1/9 Smackdown/ECW tapings in Peoria, IL.
DiBiase has been training with "Handsome" Harley Race.

Any chance his dad will be his manager if he were to make it? Or will they not acknowledge the relationship, a la Brian Christopher? DiBiase is both one of my favorite wrestlers and favorite managers

I am sure they will mention it, it will be one of the appeals of the lad. Dibiase is not necessarily on bad terms, even though he was recently let go as an agent after a short stint working with the Fed again. What surprises me about this is Ted was recently quoted as saying his sons had standing offers to start with the WWE or their developmental territories, but he and they were holding off until they were "ready." And he implied it would be a while.
The word is Dibiase would not make a great manager cause he can not take any kinds of bumps at all, due to neck problems, and a manager that can not get involved at all loses a bit of the luster. Also, he is a religious zealot these days, devout enough to make HBK look like Satan. So DiBiase is not all too high on the racy product, and probably would not be interested in a major role.
I am interested to see what his sons have to offer, Mike being the oldest. Not sure, but I think he is in his early 20s....I find it interesting that Terry Gordy's son is still under contract and in the system....I would so mark out for a Ray Gordy/Mike Dibiase battle, rekindling the old Freebird/Dibiase war.

From what I understand they have really soured on Davey Boy's kid. He has absolutely no charisma at all. There are no plans to bring him up to the main roster anytime soon, apparently.
Oh, and speaking of wrestlers offsprings, it was just announced yesterday that the WWE formally signed Nattie Neidhardt, the daughter if Jim the Anvil, to a developmental deal. Apparently she is a Hell of a wrestler with a great body, but poking around people seem to think she looks too much like Jim in the face for comfort (sans the beard, thankfully)

I think older fans would get a kick out of Neidhardt's daughter being attractive and hot...and if she looks enough like him in the face that she's comically ugly I think it'd be even funnier...I guess it'd depend how well the younger crowd took to her at that point.
I saw Harry Smith-Bulldog's son-wrestle at JAPW a few times about a year ago and man, lack of charisma is an understatement. He just seems like the most boring person in the world. We had heard the E rumors then and we were like whoa they are going to have to get some work done on his character before bringing him up.

Actually the common concensus on the board I visited is that she is indeed hot, but the people who think so are also creeped out cause they can see Jim in her face.
I have seen many pics of her, in fact she is a MySpace friend. I am not too enamored with her looks, actually. Charisma is not really something a guy can learn, but when you think that Davey's son has been at it since he's been like 14 and he is stuck in his vanilla persona as long as he has, there's not much hope there. A guy like that wont get anywhere on Vince's show, with or without his bloodline.

News a lot of people have been hoping for. I myself dont like to see anyone injured, but HHH backing off and dissapearing for a while is never a bad thing. This will change storylines for months to come, as the burning rumor was HHH setting himself up to challenge Cena at Mania.

Yup.
Or at least that is the early diagnosis. But they are already cautioning that at best it would be another 7 months before he would be ready to step back into the ring.

Looking at the pictures, it may be the same leg too. That must be damn frustrating. I wonder if they'll recycle the rehab videos.
That's a rough injury too. A shame it happened so close to Wrestlemania. I just hope this doesn't mean more Umaga.

Well, there was some justice in the travesty that went down last night. Vince was at ringside listening to all of it. It may not make him change his direction, but the fact that it must have drove him up the wall - especially the chant, "we want WRESTLING" - is pretty cool by me.
Yeah, wrestling these days can be tough. But there is still a lot of good hidden inside the shows. But I find myself pulling out my old tapes more and more.
I also prefer TNA's product to the WWE's recently.

I wonder if Road Dogg and Billy Gunn will continue their "assault" with HHH out of the picture. They just come off as so pathetic, I find it unintentionally funny

Well, there are consistent rumors that Dogg and Gunn may end up on Raw. Not like they are under TNA contract or anything. In fact, Dogg quit last week due to the fact of TNA no longer paying hotel costs for the talent during TNA tapings in Orlando, but cooler heads prevailed.
Either way HBK will be bringing out someone, I think. Could be a new member of DX. Wont be X-Pac, he is contracted to that stupid MTV promotion.

Maybe they'll scrap the "DX" part of it and just bring Marty Jannetty back for the 17th time.
I am not keen on Flair moving in there at this point. He's such a waste now. I think HBK should grab a young gun and play "mentor" or something. Wether its Kenny Dykstra or someone like that, whatever. Actually, the best thing to do is close down ECW already and have CM Punk show up next week at HBK's side.

Is there actually a chance that ECW would close down, and the talent be split between Raw and Smackdown?
I'm sure Michaels would LOVE to be back at square one with Jannetty. That's cool once in awhile, but not exactly something I think Michaels would want full time.
The only way I think it would work well would be Jannetty throwing Michaels through a window, and redoing the angle in reverse, but that would require giving Jannetty a push he doesn't deserve.
I always laugh at the name Kenny Dykstra. He should meet Lenny Dykstra at Wrestlemania.
Hopefully the HHH injury would make room for someone new to step up, and when HHH gets back, there will be a new top level guy.
The New Age Outlaws arriving on Raw would be damn interesting. I'm shocked they aren't under contract. It would be an interesting move on Vince's part to throw some money at them. It would basically be a free angle set in motion by TNA.
Would have been more interesting had HHH NOT been injured.

Hardly anyone is under contract in TNA. And, quite frankly, who would be interested in signing Dogg and Kip to a contract? More wrestling fans groan when they see these guys, than pop for them.
The thing that is holding up any plug-pull on ECW is the TV contract. Its still a money-maker, and Spike is thrilled to have them, product be damned. So WWE is commited to throwing something out there under that banner. If it was me, I would split the crew amongst the two brands, and make the Tuesday show something different.
The whole Kenny Dyskstra thing is a play on Lenny Dykstra, it was not done unintentionally. Word is one of the writers who suggested the name is a big Lenny Dykstra fan, nothing more, nothing less. In fact, Ross made a Mookie Wilson quip during his match.

That is very funny. I wonder if Kenny is going to be more comedic. He's getting a good push. Maybe someone like Chris Masters will be given a shot to step up.
If there is good talent on the ECW roster, then maybe they should almost treat ECW as a minor leagues, and get the big names back where they belong.

I heard a rumor that the planned ECW Title match for WrestleMania was Lashley vs. Khali. If that doesn't tell you what's wrong with ECW....

Not any more. Khali has been moved to Raw. Some are saying Khali may face Cena so Cena can recreate Hogan's bodyslam of Andre in that same building 20 years before. But I dont see that happening - I see Khali being in some sort of garbage match.
A lot of people are pulling for Lashley/Punk, but who knows. Yeah, we know ECW has a lot wrong with it, but its still getting good ratings considering, and its keeping some people employed that would not be if they put an end to the experiment.

Sorry, meant to say planned before last night's move w/ khali. I like how whenever there's a roster move, there's some bogus reason for it happening. New year, contracts are up. What did Khali sign a 2 month contract with ECW?
