Sancho, glad you started this. Have not been able to dive in yet, but I will be a regular in here. I got a heap of cool YouTube vids I could throw on here.

I have an entire video....8 hours worth! - of Gangstas in Smokey Mountain. Got the comp from a tape trader, think I paid like $6 for it. Quality is a little rough at times, but overall pretty damn good. Seems to be just about every major promo, angle, and televised match they did down there, up to and including Jim Cornette turning on Bob Armstrong while teaming with him to take down the rowdy Gangstas.
Classic!

Thanks for posting these, Sancho. I actually poked around the Tube over the weekend. Clicked from one to the other - while watching one I would say " other related" vids to the side, and followed the path all over. I was watching classic Hayes vs Gordy stuff, and some Harley Race matches. Someone actually posts up old footage from Georgia, which is a handy watch. I will post some links next time I am on there.

Here's a fun watch. The wrestling magician, Phantasio! Even odder is the announcing tandem of Gorilla Monsoon and Jim Ross! Listen here as Gorilla is awed and amused by the antics of the wrestling magician! www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSWGSe0nB7g

Also my favorite ring announcer Joe McHugh....
I see this must be an early match as SD still resided in Philly before he started hailing from Antigua....

4 Dogg I used to love the Opening of the old Sat night/morning hour show when Joe McHugh would run down and announce all the referees "for this hour of wresling" , along with the "Doctor in attendance - the infamous George Zoharian" and the time keeper at the bell.......

At this time in mid-1983, Southwest had the timeslot on USA Network and they were about to get a big push from the network making them a national product and they already had a deal in place with Ole Anderson and GCW for talent sharing but this angle disgusted USA so much they dropped Southwest in place of the WWF and the rest is history. youtube.com/watch?v=FLWanPckFWo

Dude, Southwest was a dandy watch. They had some grizzled vets, a roughhouse Texan style, and some crazy angles going on. Tully Blanchard and Gino Hernandez were running roughshod over there for a time, and the savagely underrated Eric Embry was breaking in as a spunky underdog.
Bruiser Bob Sweetan was the hardboiled vet taking on all comers, many times with a bounty hanging over his head. I have a 6 hour videotape of Southwest circa 83, and its one of my favorite classic watches. Cant access the link from work, but I know of what you speak, and shall enjoy later!

One classic gag had Dusty in his Midnight Rider guise beating Ric Flair for the World Title, but having to relinquish it cause of the NWA rule that a masked man could not hold the title. He would need to unmask, and Dusty could not unmask, as he had lost a loser-leaves-town, and would out himself.
I remember a classic pic in the Apter mags of a sullen Midnight Rider handing over the title to Jim Crockett.

Not a classic "angle" per se, but here is some footage of one of my new favorite grapplers, AAA's own "El Zorro!" This video is kickass, with a nice Spanish tune, and footage of Zorro and his "Foreign Legion" cohorts like Kenzo Suzuki (a true fave of mine and a big reason I DVR AAA on Galavision weekly) leaving destruction in the wake. Behold El Zorro!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw5J8YQiFc4

Thanks for the save, Sancho. I was bouncing around the YouTube wrestling treasure-chest, and lost track on my point and clicks. The Hayes on Hart is a worthy find as well, but thanks for posting the El Zorro vignette! And yeah, kudos to AAA.

There's like 4 or 5 of them. I liked the one where they inserted the Ultimate Warrior theme. youtube.com/watch?v=oTb2zxAfXlo&feature=relatedSee? I told you that was the highlight of WM24. Those videos were hysterical. I really want an animated GIF of that.
