Ok, TNA will be hitting the big city as well. I am locked into Westbury, but here is another option for you city folk....
Culled from the Torch. They are actually in NYC the night before the Westbury show.
As part of a three-night tour of New York state in late February, TNA has booked Webster Hall in New York City for Thursday, Feb. 21. Kurt Angle is booked for the show, as well as Booker T., Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, and Team 3D.
The venue selection of a nightclub in the heart of New York City represents TNA's vision for creating a more intimate setting for house shows. TNA management was very pleased with the turnout in Dallas this past Friday at the House of Blues night club, where the show had a different feel than an arena event.
Also on the tour, TNA has booked the North Fork Theater in Westbury, N.Y. on Feb. 22 and the First Arena in Elmira, N.Y. on Feb. 23. WWE drew 4,000 in Elmira for a Smackdown/ECW show on January 7.
Ring of Honor also has a New York tour that weekend. ROH will be in Deer Park, N.Y. on Feb. 22 and in New York City at the Manhattan Center on Feb. 23 for its sixth-anniversary show. The main event for ROH's sixth-anniversary show is Nigel McGuinness vs. Bryan Danielson for the ROH Title if Nigel is still champion.

Guys have fun at the show!! I went to Lock Down last April in St. Charles,MO. TNA put on a pretty good show but you could defiantly see a difference from the way WWF & then WCW puts on a show. Lockdown had a pretty good card.

I just read this morning on the Observer website that someone called the Hall for tickets, and they knew nothing. Its very unorganized over there, although the show is indeed on.

Whats the holdup?
Angle vs Booker as your main event. A great gaggle of action in a comfy venue. Drop your hesitations and get down there.

So this Friday, TNA is in my town. And they are forecasting what could be heavy snow. Considering we need to drop my daughter at my Moms sometime between close of business day and belltime, and then make the huff back to Westbury, we may have problems. We will do anything it takes, as the pair of tix cost me a good heap.
Stupid snow.

When I heard about the snow, it made up my mind of not going. Yeah the tix were a lot, but 80 bucks both ways for a cab is fucking madness, add the snow to the equation and it's a big clusterfuck. Shit sucks but nothing more I can do. I am sure it will be a good show with the up close atmosphere of the place. Hope you have good time.

Now watch it just sleets.
Card looks solid. Hey, James, I think Ring of Honor is playing Deer Park tomorrow night, thats closer to you. If the weather spins, maybe try to hit that show, even though I personally find ROH a little too "elitist."

I wish, but my two biggest problems with getting to Westbury is the fact that I have two tix and no ride and none of my friends really know TNA that much, so they've never even heard of ROH. I'm going to try to get to my grandmas in Hicksville tomorrow and see if maybe my cousin wants to go, or can at least give me a ride, but since it's a friday night I'm sure he'll have his own plans. I'm really pissed and depressed about this, I was more excited about TNA than the Rumble and now I'm screwed cause of my uncle. I really wish he would have gotten his ass beat a few times when he acted dumb in39. I really want something bad to happen to him cause of this.

Ah, geez, I never knew you cared!
First off, not a seat further than 60 feet from the ring. I was thrown off a bit by the big hanging thing from the roof, with speakers and lighting, which hung close enough over the ring where when a guy stood on the top rope, you could only see half his body. They used a smaller ring they pull out for house shows.
Crowd was hot all night. The atmosphere was off the charts. Jeremy Borash was treated like a returning warrior who vanquished a rival king. He was quite the showman, introducing the wrestlers, warming up the crowd. They ran a thing where "the loudest fans" were getting pulled backstage - trips seemed to be around 5 minutes or so, but people were going all agog for that.
Let me just say this, the AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe match was the best house show match I have ever seen. It was tremendously hard-hitting, and very crisp. Joe won, he always wins, but Styles looked like a million bucks. Not far behind in terms of solid action was Christian and Angle. This match had a ton of heat ,with the crowd solidly backing Christian. Angle made Christian tap after a heap of false finishes.
The match I was looking forward to the least - by far - turned out to be quite entertaining. The overused Eric Young vs Cowboy James Storm. They ran a heap of hilarious spots, including Young ending up in Earl Hebners ref shirt, instructing Earl to go at it with Storm. And Earl did, locking up, and double arm-flipping Storm with Young. Hebner went from one of the most hated people on the card (you screwed Bret!) to one of the most adored by the end of all this comedy.
The Dudleys were tremendous with the crowd. They played total face with the Machine Guns in the cowardly heel role. The Dudleys even bought a couple of kids into the ring, and did a little bit with them, but not even that came across as corny. They had the crowd eating out of the palm of their hands.
That was the main thing - going by this crowd and atmosphere, you would never know TNA was "so bad" according to all the message boards. It won "worst promotion" by a landslide in the Observer poll. Of course, one reason is that Borash apparently runs the house shows, and they are done with none of the crazy goings-ons that are all over the Russo and company booked TV.
I enjoyed seeing Amazing Kong in person. She beat Gail Kim clean. Show opened with LAX, who were very over as well, beating Rave and Hoyt (sans Hemme) - the fans were all over Rock and Rave.
One thing I hated about the place is the "only one way in, one way out" parking lot, which caused us to flee before the promised autograph session around the ring after the show. I am sure that was a mess, they wanted everyone to line up down one aisle and snake around...there were 3000 people there, and a heap of them had plans to do just that.
Great show, they will be returning, and we will be there.

I've read nothing but good reviews for all the NY shows they did in the three day span or whatever it was. I really would have liked to see the Styles/Joe match(if I own my own company, AJ is one of the first guys I sign). I'm actually bummed, I selfishly wanted the shows to be clusterfucks cause I had to miss them. I'll catch them next time around, but I'm still jeaous and a bad person.

You are a TERRIBLE person. The roads weren't that bad!
I went from Bellmore to Farmingdale to Deer Park and then to Westbury where I picked up some veggie delights from Subway and went home to change into jeans and t-shirt (and of course the Peter Puck hoodie) and still got there in plenty of time. And that includes going the wrong way on Brushhollow Rd because Mapquest sucks. Of course, I suck too for having to do a Mapquest to get to a theater that is 2 miles from my door. Living 5 minutes away from both the Northfork Theater and the Nassau Coliseum is fun.
I felt awful about not bringing my girl. She found out where we were going and was pretty devasted. I promised she can tag along next time. .
